My DD was born in the morning on her EDD. I was sooooo impressed. I am a bit of a super punctual person, and I was already getting antsy when it was the day before EDD and nothing was happening. I said to my belly "you're grounded for life if you are late, little one", and at 11pm that night my waters broke, and then she was born the next morning, all naturally, bang on time. Phew!
Take as much time off as you can, you'll love it.
hmm, i got to 42w+2days and the doctors decided to induce me because he showed absolutely no signs what so ever of wanting to come out, my cervix wasn't even favourable to induce labour.. god only knows how much longer he would have waited to come out! lol he was quite happy where he was :)
DD was born on EDD+11. Agony waiting, but worth the wait (and induction avoidance) to get my blissful homebirth.

DD#1 was a week late, DS#2 was a week early and DD #3 was spot on.
My DD arrived 4 days early but I went into labour 6 days early.
dd1 came exactly on her due date. i was booked in for an induction as BP was rising fast, but my waters broke on their own 4 hours before the big hook thingy arrived!
dd2 came on her own 3 weeks early.
With Brendan my waters broke 12 weeks early and he was born 10 weeks early.
I finished work at 35w2d and DS came early at 36w6d.
DS came at 37wks. DD came at 34wks.
I agree - take as much time as possible and enjoy that first pregnancy. You don't get to sit around and read books and stuff with your 2nd pregnancy.. coz there's a demanding toddler running around! hehe.
Hi
dd#1 was 14 days early
dd#2 was 10 days early
I am booked in for a ceasar with dd#3 8 days before she is due
(hope I make it that far!!!)

DD wasn't coming out on the due date. I was induced 40w+3 days :D
both my boys were born on their EDD's (like Sushee) so I've got a 100% success rate! IF there is a 3rd pregnancy it's gonna have high expectations!!
1st Bub: DS was born on his EDD Jan07- went into labour at 12:05am on the DD- he was born 19hrs later!
Fnished work 2.5 weeks before.
2nd Bub: DD was born at 38w+1d May 08.
Had finished work 5 days before hand but had had a feleing all along that she would be early.
Always trust your gut instinct I say- as its just about always right!
Good luck :-)
DD was born at 37wks (2hr labour). I am hoping if I have another one it takes a bit longer!! I finished work christmas eve and she arrived 2wks later.
Good luck and enjoy your quiet time before bubs arrives.

Toby was 12 days early... And 8pound 4oz so im kinda glad he decided not to wait the extra 12 days! Im only little!
I think the average first pregnancy lasts around 41 weeks. But that is an average and obviously it means that there are lots of babies delivered before or after this date.
DD was born at 39 weeks 3 days. Labour started at 4am (really gently) and Maya was born at 4:45pm that same day.
If you can afford to at all, I would try and stop working at 36 weeks. The last weeks can get very uncomfortable and prolonged sitting or standing (if that is part of your job description) is not good.
Best of luck!
