my hospy supplied nd told us to bring some to go home in they had terry ones of which i took some home lol
Our hospital supplied nappies (spossies) but not wipes - which i found unusual :)
oooh how exciting Leesa!!! Best wishes for tomorrow.
Ours supplied terry flats and disposable cloths for wipes....we took our own cloth cos we sucked with the nappy pin!
We were in WCH, but DD was in SCBU and there they were all supplied, in the room I remember seeing some terry flats and those little banana's in pyjama's outfits, there were some sample dippy nappies (which I was told to take when I left :)). Seeing as I never had her in my room, I don't know if they were going to give anything else.
We used water and little pieces of stuff to clean DD bum in SCBU.
When we transferred DD had just received a new packet under her crib and the MW grabbed everything from under the cot including the new packet of nappies, scissors, tape, covital etc
At our Private hosy we were given one packet "officially" but as DD was still considered SC (even though we got to room - as she was the only SC bub and it was easier for them to have her in the room with us, we were provided more, got to take 2/3 packet home, so never had to bring any in either :) I can't remember what we used to wipe her bum at our Priv Hosy hehe.
Good luck tomorrow! We had DS at WCH and he was in NICU so they supplied everything but I do know that bubs staying on post-nat ward with you will need to have your own supply of nappies, wipes and tissues.
They sell them in the shops in the WCH and of course there is a supermarket up the road BUT you dont want to be caught short.
My hospital supplied Huggies. Even when DD was in the paed ward when she was 6 months old with gastro, nappies were supplied. Each time there were always staff members who told us to take some home with us too as they get an endless supply for free from Huggies.
Our hospital supplies all nappies (sposies only), wipes, clothing and any other necessities for bubs. It's a private hospital though - a SJOG.
My hospital said to bring nappies, but they did supply them anyway. They gave each new mum a small bag of Huggies.
The public hosp we attended in Perth supplied all the Huggies nappies and even gave us a take home supply! Apparently once opened nappies have been in someone's room they either go home with them (the unused ones!!) or have to be binned for hygiene reasons. Interesting what people's responses have been.
I was told to bring disposable nappies to hospital by the hospital. They supplied the first nappy (cloth) only and they did it up with tape. After that, use your own disposables. It was a public hospital.
I have found they have supplied different things each time and I think it is to do with the samples given to them by reps. With DD they didn't give me anything, I had to bring everything myself (except for bunny rugs). With DS they gave me wipes and a few nappies, some baby bath lotion and so on. I got the impression that is what they had been given as samples or freebies to give out by the reps to encourage parents to continue buying those products ... if the hospital gives them to you, it probably looks like they are a hospital endorsed product so I think reps would find it highly favourable to distribute samples through the hospitals - just a thought anyway.
With my DS, (public hosp & 13 yrs ago) they supplied everything just needed wear home nappy and outfit, with this one, (private hosp) in the info book it says they supply 1 pack of disposables but we supply our own after that, we also need to bring all our own clothes, rugs & wipes. It's beginning to look like we would have been better off going public.
DD1 and 2 the hospital supplied terry flats and cotton balls - public Hospital
DD3 they supplied a small pack of newborn huggies and cotton balls - different Public hospital
DD4 and DS they supplied all disposable nappies (newborn huggies) and little packets of J&J wipes, they were born at a Private Hospital, they also supplied shampers and a big bowl of strawberries and cream, mmmmmmm the kids scoffed it, lol!!!!
Daytona - wow almost makes you question what you're paying for huh??
Katierabbit - yup that's the same her we got to take home left overs....and I might have snuck in a couple of extra little packs of wipes, I'm so naughty!!!
