I waited after three hours of contractions and then after ebing startled awake again by one i decided i better tell him.
Later that afternoon when my waters broke he was massaging my sacrum and I thought I just had to go to the loo, until i sat up on my knees and gushed water everywhere. No hiding it then!

It happened on a Saturday. I was half awake early in the morning feeling period pains, but hadnt thought anything of it. When i woke up fully later on i realised the pains were coming and going, and were still coming even if i walked, so i had my suspicions. I stayed in bed and when DP got out the shower i told him about the pains, he asked me if it was it, and i said to him that i dont want to say yes but i couldnt say no.
When i got up eventually to go to the loo i noticed quite a bit of my plug on my liner, which i tore off my undied (noice) and showed DP as proof that it infact could be it. Throughout the day i had more plug come out. DP was very wary about it, thinking i was having BH's..and when the doc sent us home at 9pm saying i wasnt in labour that i was having BH's he wasnt convinced i was in labour..well the doc was wrong, i was in labour!!
We went back the next morning and I was 4cm dialated at 2am, and DD was born 3:15pm on the sunday afternoon.

I had my show around 11am and called him at work to share the exciting news but said it could still be days away. By 2pm I was on my hands and knees in pain on the bed and thought things were obviously happening and he should know so he could tell work he was starting his paternity leave so I sent him an SMS saying "You wont be at work tomorrow". He called straight back and asked if he needed to come home. I started saying "No, it'll still be ages. Finish the day..." then I had a contraction and started crying and wimpered "Yes, please come home!". He got home 40mins later and it was all go.

With Abbey I was sitting up watching the final show of Idol with my midwife while DP was in bed fast asleep. As time when on and labour progressed and I finally asked my midwife to check me, I was 7 cms dilated. She went and woke DP up but he went back to sleep. I hadn't been labouring when he went to bed. So I went into our room and said "GET UP NOW" "you need to fill the pool"!! in my best mummy voice. Then I had a big contraction in front of him. I leaned on his shoulders for support and he pushed me off cos he wanted to go fill the pool.
Note to your husbands, NEVER push off your partner when she is contracting !!

I was 39wks6d when I lost my plug. I was out at lunch with my mum and her boyfriend of the time, I was so excited but didn't bother telling DP. I was convinced that I was going to have a Due Date baby the following day that I figured that it could wait.
The next day nothing happened - NOTHING! I felt so ripped off. I told DP that I had lost my plug the day before and that I was really suprised that he was going to work...
At 40+1 I was having regular BH contx, but still nothing REAL.
Meanwhile my mum was planning on leaving town (she was only there on a visit) 2 days after my EDD, so when that came and went I was devestated!!
Mum actually got in the car and drove out of town when I reached 40wks6d (4days later than she had planned) and was an hour North of where we were living when her bf pulled the car over and refused to go any further!! He turned the car around and drove her back dumping her on my doorstep and telling her to get a grip - she was about to become a Nanna - and she could not run away and miss the birth! (I still thank God that her now ex boyfriend was more head strong than mum) He figured that with my DP working, and me being stuck at home, the least my mother could do was stick around for another week.
Anyway, as it turns out my DP was so OVER waiting for the labour to start - having had so many "warnings that it could happen anytime", that he figured that it would never happen, so he headed off to work on the morning that I hit 41wks rather than coming to my last OB appointment.
Luckily mum drove to the appointment as I had had the runs all morning and was feeling queasy..... When I got there, the midwives were all watching me intently while we waited for the OB. When I finally walked into her offices, she said, "I hear congratulations are in order - you are having regular contractions"... Apparently EVERYONE but me knew I was in labour....
So by the time I actually realised that I was in labour, I had to call DP and say "Honey....I am 4cms dialated...you need to meet me at the Hospital - they are not letting me go home".
I suggest that you just be up front with your DP.... He is best reminded that no matter what, the birth of bub is not far away. Your EDD is not that far away - don't scare him into thinking that you are in active labour - but rather just remind him that it could be any day and your body is getting ready...
GOODLUCK!:D

I woke up in the middle of the night in dripping wet sheets, shook DH awake and said "ummm ..... I think I've wet the bed. Either that, or my waters have broken" lol.
