My DD1 was 8.25am, but then with DD2 planning a homebirth i just could not comprehend her coming during the day... all my plans were around getting DD1 to bed and then being able to birth... When i started having contractions mid morning i was calm... by 1pm DH was suggesting i get in the pool, and I'm saying "No don't be daft, aaaages to go", MW arrived about 3pm, tells me to get in the pool, i give in and decide i might as well make the most of it. 4.05 Baby! Daylight, ABC kids on in the background.. not what i had in mind :lol:
A friend related the story to me only yesterday - it was pretty out there - she had previously been a midwife in Africa and delivered babies in a whole range of odd locations, etc, but this one took the cake!:
My water broke at 230am Ds was born at 1229pm was awesome had all day with DH and then my mum and sis came about 6pm for 1/2hr
I woke up in labour at around 5.30am. And labored all day, and had dd at 7.18pm. It was actually exactly the timing I was hoping for! DD slept at night, so didn't get confused, and I was able to sleep as well! (in theory, next time I want to go home straight away) and it wasnt too late for MIL and BIL to visit after I had her. (my mum was with me and dad was at work)
I loved labouring during the day, i didn't have to worry about waking people up, I could go for walks to help labour along without looking like a weirdo :lol: and it didn't mess with my sleep patterns either!
I would've loved to have had a water birth, it was my intention, I laboured in the water, but I had to get out because DD wasn't moving down because I'd been in there so long, and as soon as I got out I was ready to push lol. Next time I know what to do differently though!

I laboured day and night! Contractions started 8am but DD didn't come until 3:45am.
I've had 2 during the day and 2 during the night. I definitely noticed there was a different vibe with them but can't quite put my finger on what that actually is.
I found it hard to sleep afterwards so for me, birthing during the day meant that by the time night came around I was getting over that post birth energy and ready for a sleep. After I had C at 11pm I was wide awake until about 7am when I had a bit of a catnap. I had been awake for over 24 hours.
I have nothing to compare my first birth with but the daytime part of my labour was easier in the sense that daytime doesn't feel as long as there is a lot going on around me, it's not just me and a whole lot of pain in the dark and quiet of night.
DS was born at 11:12pm so I just realised I assumed DD will be born at night too hahahaha. Weird to think that the whole experience may/may not be completely different.
I cant imagine having everyone know or even be waiting while I birth either, it would drive me bonkers. The only person who will know this time will be my Mum if she needs to look after DS. Hopefully DD will arrive on DSs childcare day :) My girlfriend left the birthing suite and returned to her room an hour after birth to find both sets of parents, three aunties and asstd nephews and nieces all waiting in her room before she even had the chance to settle in - this would TOTALLY annoy the living crap out of me, I like my space and I certainly don't had over my newborn.
DH missed dd2s birth. Was very sad :(:
I can't imagine giving birth. I know I've done it twice but I still can't imagine it :o
DD1 - Started 2200, arrived at hospital 0520, born 1220 :)
DD1 - Started 0800, arrived at hospital 1740, born 2130 :)
Can't say with DD1 i noticed the sun streaming in or anything like that LOL but with DD2 i did like having her late at night, so then it was just DH, DD2 and I and no visitors until the morning :)
This is sad i know, but i can't imagine giving birth without drugs of some sort! i was SOOOOO close with DD2, but nope gave in and failed! would love another chance, but that won't be happening, so hence i can't imagine it :(
I had one natural born at 12:10am. and my next 3 were cs 3:20pm, 10:20am, and 9:30am. Much preferred the morning babies. with DS1 I was so out of it and tired after labouring that I really didn't get to have it sink in till he was 5 hours old..
with DS2 it was an ok time but due to the CS I was unable to get out of bed till the following morning then all hell broke loose with him anyways.... (nother story)
DS3 and DD were great time. Both before visiting hours :lol: I did however have a room full by the time I was out of recovery but I didn't mind as my last 3 bubs were in special care and I needed the distraction..
I guess for me I can't imagine having my baby in the room with me from word go... sad but true. Its so weird when I hear of people whether its a vag or CS birth having their babies with them, nice but I can't picture it..
People give birth around the clock 24 hours a day all around the world. I'm not sure what is so hard to imagine about that :dunno: I wanted ds to be born after I had a good nights sleep and that's exactly what happened. I got up, had breakfast, started watching a movie, then had lunch and went into labor around midday and after a speedy 3.5 hour labor he was born naturally in the water in the afternoon.
I went in on a Friday arvo for induction. Was induced at 7.30pm. Next day at 1pm they put in another dose of gels. Sunday was a Foley's catheter and they broke my waters at 2pm. Labored more until 8pm then found out I was only 3cm still. Epidural. Slept in labour that night & was told still only 3cm at 3am Monday. Emergency Caesar and DD came out with the sun at 5am on the dot Monday - not that I ever looked outside. I was fighting hard just to keep my eyes open!
Funny to read this when I was only thinking the other day how perfect it was watching the sun go down while giving birth to DD - she was born at 7.46pm. My two DS's were born at 11:31pm and 6:36pm so arvo night babies too but the rooms were darkened so no real interaction with the outside world.
