It's good news Maruschke!! It will be much much shorter I'm sure :) I was very afraid of the same thing and was pleasantly surprised. In fact when they told me I could push I didn't believe them, lol.
DD1 35+ hrs.
DD2 10 hrs from very first contraction til birth (and it did not feel like long at all! Was only at the hospital a few hrs before she was out this time).

My first child (my son) was a very long birth. From my first contraction to the time he arrived was 58 hours, and I was pushing for 2.5 hours. I also could not stop throwing up. It was exhausting! They made me stop pushing after his head came out so they could clear his mouth and make sure the cord was not around his neck, and then they let me finish pushing. He came out posterior too. I had to have an epidural after my water broke as I was only 5 cm and could not stop pushing. Good thing for the epidural as I needed a lot of stitches.
My second child (my daughter) was completely different. From the time of my first contraction to the time she arrived was 5 1/2 hours. She came flying out on my third push and the Dr literally caught her. She came out posterior as well and I again needed a lot of stitches but I healed so much quicker (maybe because I didn't have an epidural this time).

My first labour was 22 hours of established labour, as well as 2 hours of pushing. I had no urge to push and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I needed assistance but he was too far up for ventouse hence me pushing him out on my own.
I had my second baby late last year and it was the most amazing labour, such a contrast! It was not quite 2.5 hours of established labour, I didn't really push until the last little bit as he was just coming down on his own for the most part. It wasn't really very painful in comparison to my first.
