OH you poor pet..I am scared **** of them as well and would have refused them, they don't use them that often anymore they use the vacume now .
I told my MW that i did not want them and if any DR or anyone had of mentioned them during my labour i would have threw them at them YOU CAN REFUSE them as can you refuse other things you do not want.
Make sure your DH is fully aware of what you do and do not want so he can speak up for you as well, i am making sure i have a doula next time as i felt quite pressured in sa few things, and feel sorry for my poor DF he did what he could , it was all new to him as well.
I'm sorry i have more to write but have a 8 month old pulling at my arm, the computer cord my leg everything lol :)
