Thanks Liv :) I hope so!
Sara I've heard that too, shorter = more intense.
Really hoping it doesn't get bigger! I'm in a whole world of pain if this one is bigger than DS!!!
I'd say Reid was 3rd and this is 4th.
pain may get more but you know how to cope so it evens out I reckon
OP my third was 1kg heavier than my first and 600g heavier than my second but was easier to push out than both.
Good luck!
My 3rd birth was 84mins, it was quick & fast.
In that case I hope this little one is 600g less than your DS ;) and easier to push out!
Lol thanks Hun - that'd be the best of both worlds ;)
Mine got progressively bigger too, but not by that much - 400grams between first and third. ANd yep, I'd agree that the faster it is the more intense. Miss E was all of about 15 minutes of active labour but oh my, it was one hell of a 15 minutes.
My third was in between for size, though would likely have been the same size as DS1 if he'd come at the same gestation as he did. (ie, DD born at 37 1/2wks, 3.6kg: DS1 born at 41wks, 4.2kg, DS2 born at 38 1/2wks, 3.9kg)
15 mins!!!! Goodness me! Not sure that I could cope with that...!
Mine got bigger each time & quicker each time.
DD - 3 1/2 hrs 3850gm or 8lb8oz
DS1 - 2 1/2 hrs 4400gm or 9lb11oz
DS2 - 2 hrs 4620gm or 10lb3oz
Each one got easier too :)
Our babies sizes were quite similar.
I'm on my phone so I can't see your little ones ages... Are they close in ages?
Because I wonder if age gap plays a role in sizing.
Can I ask how it was birthing a 10lb baby?
So I've spoken to a few people and everyone seems to be of the consensus that Reid was my 3rd birth even though the health professionals don't. So I'll just prepare myself for the possibility of a quicker labour this time ;)
DS was 10lb 11oz and it was a better birth than DD for me Sara!
Who knows what this one will bring?
My first was 6lb10oz, next smaller and third waaay bigger (almost double second lol) but it was with a new partner. The labour was much easier until I got to 10cms but she had position issues and an arm up so it ended up being my most painful yet. But getting to 9/10cms was a breeze, took me a while to believe I was in labour despite regular contractions getting closer lol, but then progress came to a grinding halt at the end and the pain was off the chart. I wonder if I had been more active during my pregnancy it might have ended better.
My midwife told me third labours are the tricky ones; they either go really well or they throw a curve ball!
With my third, I wasnt induced so it was different from the other two automatically but it definitely threw a curve ball; I went into labour at midnight on the start of my EDD but didnt actually dialate or go into established labour until 1pm! It was kind of horrible having 3min apart contractions and have it not do anything for hours but when he finally dropped into my pelvis he was born in 2 hours. It was definitely easier physically and mentally though.
Sara I absolutely loved my births and to me I couldn't tell you any difference between birthing any of my bubs.
I can link my birth story if you would like to read it.
