I'm posting in confusion and frustration at how this could happen again.
My sil is approx 30 weeks preg with her 2nd child. This morning i found out she has been admitted to hospital with high blood pressure & high protien i her urine.
Looking back at her previous preg she was admitted at approx 26 weeks with the same symptoms and her son was born at 27 + days. The outcome to this was not a good one, my nephew was in nicu for 10 months was finally allowed home on oxygen, unfortunately suffered a few bugs and passed away at 14 months old.
After finding this news out this morning i had a search in this medical conditions thread and found the link from BellyBelly about a dr's research involving nutrition and pregnancy. My sil's diet is not the best and she is extremely picky, i think the only veg she eats is potato (have a feeling i could be corrected on even calling this a veg).
I don't know what i'm trying to get across here other than venting my frustations at this happening again. She has chosen private care with this preg and her blood pressure has been very closely monitored. But apart from checking this i wonder what else the dr was doing to try and prevent this happening again. If there is anything. In the back of my mind when this happened the first time i wondered about her diet being a possibility but never knew any different.
She is a very stubborn girl and not the type of person i feel i could mention her diet to without offending. But it just makes me wonder the toll her diet is taking on her body and even more so when she is pregannt.
I'm not sure if i'm making a lot of assumptions here and i'm definately not trying to come across in an acussing manner but i am frustated. I wish she could want to help herself a bit more by caring for herself better. The last thing i want to see is her and my brother go through the process they (and we as a family) did this previous 2 years.
So sorry, don't know what i'm asking for here but just had to get it out.
