so much variance, i have to wear a top and still shove washers down my top so I dont leak everywhere, if I lay down to feed I end up falling asleep as well, and then wake up when she starts feeding again, and by then i want to roll or some space. her night feeds only take 10-15mins anyway. you just atomatically do what works. I was talking to a mum at playgroup about when to move bub into her own room and I was saying the thought of getting up out of bed in the middle of the night is what turns me off, and she said, but you just do it, you know you need to, so you just get up and do it, and it soon becomes automatic and she does that in her sleep. (im not planning on moving her out, it came up because this mum is now pregnant with her 2nd and was trying to move her own dd to her own room to make room for the baby.)

Yeah, but i'm not going to do it (get out of bed to feed bub in middle of night) if i don't have to! :lol: DD night weaned at 15 months (pregnancy and illness induced) and she moved into her room at 18 months. i don't think i could have done it earlier with her. However, I am hoping to be able to move DS earlier, probably into DDs room. Getting up once or twice is ok, getting up 4 or 6 or 8 times is just silly.

We have tried me just going out and seeing how they get on - it was a couple of months ago now though, as it ended with DH calling me to come home and DS screaming until the second I walked in the door. He was getting better for a while, it was taking longer for DS to arc up but still he won't settle down and sleep for DH.

I moved DS out of our room when he was about 4 months - just worked better for us, we both slept better. It does mean getting up every so often, usually once or twice a night but yes there are nights where it's a lot more - mostly because of teeth.

Speaking of teeth....we're still having a few issues with scraping. Seems it crops up again every time another tooth breaks through. This might be contributing to my general don't want to do this anymore-ishness

teeth CK! yes that would make it more uncomfortable for you if not painful. are they top or bottom teeth your little one has got? (just checked how old he is, prob both =P) I dont have any advice on the teeth. Spock has just gotten her first one!!(yay) its a bottom, and I don't notice it at all. (yet)

Yep, he has 4 across the top and 4 across the bottom plus I wouldn't be surprised if more were on the way. The top ones are the pesky ones, I barely noticed the bottom ones but when he's tired the top ones rest on top of my nipple and leaves little indentations. It is getting rather uncomfortable but as much as I try to encourage him to open wide and am careful with his attachment he still slips as his jaw gets tired

Ah! Teeth make everything harder!

Yeah, my son is at a similar stage with teeth, and kinda too young to understand when i say "big mouth".

He seems to do it when he gets a bit distracted. No rhyme or reason otherwise.

Spock has started grabbing my nipple by the hand and then putting it in her mouth. very very cute, but can be a bit painful when her nails get in the way =\

Dd does this too. Apparently they are the most exciting things ever!! :)

Sometimes she pulls the shield off (yes STILL going with it) and puts it in her mouth and wants to play with the nipple lol!

I had a lovely chat with my nephew/godson when i was bf Spock today, he (4) was happily explaining to me that spock was drinking milk from my boobies and telling me how he use to drink milk from his mummies boobies.

Spock has started trying to feed in different (awkard) positions. mainly on my right she will turn her head to lay inbetween my boobs and look to the side. it looks cozy and works in theory but my boobs dont quite go that way and milk drips everywhere cause she is only half on..

Just wanted to say YAY, I'm bf again :dance: I know DD only weaned like 5 months ago, but I really missed it, especially with a newbie. No problems at all this time, my supply is settling nicely after some epic engorgement (although I still have enough milk for 2 babies or more!). It's great bf a second time around :)

Yay, PZ! Has DD1 shown any interest?

Next week will be one year bfing DD2 and a few weeks later will notch up five years of bfing in total. :o

Help! DS does stinky rotten egg farts. I've been blaming the dogs but after been away from them for 2 days and the room still smelling like egg fart... I've concluded something I'm eating is not agreeing with the lad :( so the process of elimination begins. Will try dairy, then wheat as I sometimes have problems with them if I have too much. But if its not those what else should be on the list? And how long should I eliminate the food for to see whether that's it, 1 week, 2 weeks, a month?

A friend of mine's DD was doing poosplosions and all sorts of gassy delights, so the Dr got her to start by eliminating all cruciferous veggies and bulb veggies ... so no cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, brusselsprouts, and no onions, turnips, garlic, etc.

I think dairy and then wheat were after that.

I think each stage went for two weeks ... ?
