If anyone is near Essendon AIrport DFO and wears a 10D or 10DD or 12D maternity bra, The Bendon shop has some Elle Macpherson bras for $5 on their clearance racks. They are my favs, but alas i can't squeeze into those sizes.
cheers

hmmm i could do the 12D! far out, i need to get there!
wow it just occurred to me that I could have posted in here yonks ago  only a bit slow on the uptake! (for those on phones, my DD is 11 months old... and we're BF'ing with nipple shields after a very unsuccessful BF'ing r/ship with my DS - I expressed till he was 13mo).
Re the bras, after a long & very frustrating hunt, I just found some great 10E's at mothercare. Finally!
Here's a question, my daughter is a hair twirler/twiddler/puller/caresser... you name it, she does it. And yes, it's my hair not hers. I reckon I lose about half a dozen hairs per feed!!. Sometimes I don't mind, but other times she gets a bit rough & it starts to annoy me. Then I think i should just try & lean my head out of her reach... but as soon as she's a bit crotchety or tired, I give in & let her have it. I guess I wonder if I should be more consistent & maybe she'd stop it quite happily? Any thoughts?
omg i cant believe we are almost at 10 months with hardly any issues got a bit of thrush at the moment
Isadora - we're past the worst of it but she's still a bit snotty. It's not her first cold unfortunately so we've been through it before. She's been choking on feeds a bit more lately though.
Belfie - my daughter is scratcher, pincher, hair puller, smacker, face gouger, you name it, she was so rough. I bought a mumma rocks necklace and feeding times are much nicer. She sits and fiddles with it instead (mostly) I also put her taggie blanket with us when she feeds so if she isn't interested in the necklace she'll fiddle with the tags.
Hi everyone :)
Just a quick pop in - nearly at 5 months now - and my sister was staying with us the other night, told me to give DD3 a bottle of a night time because my milk obviously isn't good enough for night milk, just day milk. WTF? LOL... when I told my mum, my mum agreed with her and said that there are two different types of milk - day and night! I was like, uh, I think at this stage I just have milk mum... not day or night milk... just milk.. LOL
Anyway, just thought I would drop in and share that lovely advice for anyone else needing a giggle today.
that must have been my problem, i only have day milk in my boosies!
 classic. How helpful
that is awesome Mrs NB lol!
Belfie: my DD2 is like M2B girl...face/eye gouger, scratcher, pincher, biter, hair puller....i wish i had of bought a BF necklace or something to distract her with.
Isa: how is the cold going? hopefully not too much snot on the boob :)
You know I actually had one I got from a friend, but didn't have much joy with it when she was younger. After reading your post, I've fished it out again, and everytime she goes for my hair, I just lean back & show her the necklace. Working a treat so far!!
Mrs NM - hahaha that's classic!
Cassius - I actually went googling to see how much they are if I want a second one. Was surprised how expensive they are!! I think the other reason I didn't want to do it, was cos I didn't want to need it as equipment IYKIWM... we're already pretty shield & cover dependant (I cannot manage any modesty with a shield... so cover helps me out big time).... but.. if it means I get to keep a full head of hair, it'll be worth it! May I also say that the pics of your DD2 (FB) are just adorable!
my dh has always been a supporter of me breastfeeding. but couple times lately he has suggested that i wean dd. urgh. i hurt my back a couple of weeks ago when i fell holding dd (and so couldn't put my arms down to stop myself falling). i am in alot of pain, at times, and dd is getting frustrated that i won't pick her up as much. i know i am edgy cos of the pain. i am also struggling abit with dd groping while she is feeding or trying to expose more skin. i have already introduced a bottle of cows milk at night after a breastfeed if dd is still not satisfied (for the benefit of both of us). i know my supply is down, and dd has dropped feeds but think we are still going ok just going with the flow. i do have to take her off sometimes, when it is getting too much for me and i'm pretty sure the milk has gone.
i don't think weaning will stop her wanting to be close to me. she still want to feed. i don't think weaning is going to help me be less cranky - i'm still pregnant so it's not like i can take better drugs to help the pain if i wean. slowly, dd is working out that it is hard to carry her but i can hold her hand and give her cuddles on the couch. if weaning happens 'naturally', i will be ok with it but i don't want to force the weaning. i hate doubting what i am doing or doubting the support.
It sounds to me like you and your DD are finding a way through this already HotI. I think sometimes guys just think they have to offer a solution and this is the most obvious one he can see (thogh as you say, it probably wouldn't actually solve the problem)
I hope you can find some relief for your pain
5 months today! :leap:
DS asked me last night why DD3 was drinking from my boob and not from a bottle - then told me to give her a bottle.. LOL
And then he asked me for a drink from my boob! I told him that he would have lost the ability to suck (since I only fed him for 2.5 days!!) and then he got some of my milk out of the freezer and started eating it like an icypole! LOL!!!! He then wanted it defrosted and warmed up, so DH did it for him, and then gave him a top up with more milk that I had gotten out that day that was in the fridge, and then he drank it all. What did it taste like? Ice cream!!! LOL... Warm ice cream apparently.
A lttle boy in my ABA group reckons it tastes like melted icecream :) Congrats on 5 months Nerd.
Mel, that's wonderful news - you're doing such a great job :)
Congrats on 5 months Mel! So awesome! :D
Congrats on reaching the 5 month mark, well done.
Cass - We are past the cold now, thanks for asking. That was a rough few days thats for sure.
Another pincher and scratcher here....just gotta keep those nails clipped.
AFM - So DD is approaching the 8 month mark and is really slowing down on feeds. She is having 3-4 daytime feeds (including her bedtime feed at 6pmish). We still squeeze in a 3/4am feed, but some nights lately she has been going back to sleep with a little bit of comfort and doesnt need the feed. She really is a real foodie. So I am starting to wonder how much further we can take breastfeeding. Is this normal for this age? My mum told me that my sister at this age did much the same, but continued on with a morning and bedtime feed until after 12 months. Whether we make it to 12 months or another month or so, I am so happy with our progress so far. I cant believe I am still breastfeeding after all my early day meltdowns, hurdles and negativity from family.
Have a fantastic weekend all.
Perfect - and no reason she's stop any time soon
