I never thought I could have an amazing BF relationship with DD2 after hell with DD1

Wow! What an inspiring story! Well done you for sticking to your guns and standing up to the formula pushing MWs! Makes me think I might make sure I've got some motilium on hand for those first few days in hospital, I had terrible supply issues that were never fully resolved.

DD2 is over 3 months old now :o and I wanted to finally share what a truely amazing experince it has been and the journey we have been on for the last few months.

So I am celebrating, I stuck to my guns the whole time, I had confidence that I could do it and that DD2 could do it and we were going to do it our way and in our own time, and we did!!

i'm glad you had a supportive paed in your hospital stay

you achieved so much, when there was SO MUCH pressure in hospy to give your DD formula.

You obv learnt so much from what happened with DD1, it informed what you did with DD2.

I'm so glad you go that early time with DD2 (in the isolette, but in your room).

the noisy drinking of DD2 made me chuckle too, i love that sound. i think of it, as the little bub doing their aerobics, all that huffing and puffing to get their milk, aerobics for their cheeks - it takes the energy from their whole body just to drink. so cute to see.

and surprise surprise, you COULD feed your bub, when left alone and not stood over, with an impatient stranger standing there with the alternative.
This is why a homebirth was attractive to me, to be left alone with my nb, for the skin to skin, the breastcrawl etc. didn't happen (cos like you, i had to have C-section and the resulting NICU immed after), but i would have liked it.

good on you beema, you had your goal, and you sure did achieve that goal, WELL DONE

doesn't matter how long you end up bf-ing for, you got that first three months in, that is so valuable for your DD, no-one can ever take that away from you. You've given her a great start in life.

(this is congrats for Beema - in no way is it meant as a negative to anyone who used formula instead)

you were telling your story, you said what you needed to, don't worry about length.

length only worries me (puts me off reading) when punctuation is missing and no paragraphs are used (makes the eyes too tired).

your post was like a "page turner novel", i wanted to keep reading to find out what happened! so don't worry about length, you write well.
