Yep thats the crazy thing, my baby feeds about 2-3 hourly over night and my toddler has at least 1 feed sometime in the middle of the night, usually around 4am, then again at 6am - so i don't understand why this is happening to me.

oH HUN. i REALLY HOPE YOU COME GOOD REAL SOON :(
Sorry, didn't mean to yell - thats what you get when you let DH loose at your pc!
 I hope you are over this stubborn bout of mastitis soon.
I never had a bout that wasn't beaten by a/bs, but then, you were given a bit of a run around at first, so maybe that's had an effect. BUT I did suffer from multiple bouts and I know that feeling of 'please no, not again!' all too well. Took us until my DD was 18 mths old b4 we had what is hopefully our last brush with it.
Hope things are better soon...
MummaB- WOW still feeding during the night. I'm all outa aideas hun... I really hope things clear up soon. Wish i could give u a BIG hug and a BIG bunch of flowers to make u feel better.
It's so frustrating, isn't it?
Did you try the ultrasound? I have found that really good for getting rid of lumps. The physio does the ultrasound, then I feed DS, then she does another round of ultrasound.
Some other things I have found helpful are:
* lecithin capsules (I am taking 6 a day at the moment)
* showering in the morning, rather than at night - and massaging out any lumps that have developed overnight
* ice packs on the lump after feeding
* making sure the boob is fully drained at each feed - even if I have to express after DS is done
Thanks, you ladies are lovely :)
I needed 3 sessions of u/s and the mass is almost gone. I'm symptom free of the mastitis but still many days to go of this 2nd mammoth course of anti-biotics i have to take. I'm hoping this is the last of it.
I'm so happy you are finally almost passed this! I really hope it stays away & everything is better in the future.
So they say that cabbage leaves work. Have you or anyone else tried?
Glad to hear things are getting better MummaB...
bjrose- cabbage leaves actually help dry the milk out. i wouldnt advise this unless you wanted to stop bf...
