To add to Danni's weaning, I am bravely announcing that we have also weaned off motilium :confetti: Still monitoring supply but so far so good - all is going fine. Still have Raynaud's of the right nipple which is a pain (literally and figuratively ) but we will manage.
C'mon Sez - join us!! It only took me 3 months to wean :D

You are psychic Michelle! This has really been on my mind tonight. I'm thinking I *might* start dropping one of my tablets.....we'll see how I'm feeling tomorrow.
Congratulations to you hun, you've done a wonderful job! I might be coming to you for some advice :) I didn't realise that you have vasospasm :( OUCH you poor thing! Do you feed from that side? It must be very painful for you. Is there anything you can do about it? That you haven't already tried I mean ;)

Psychic or psychotic ?!?!?! Sometimes I'm not sure which one is more fitting with the current level of sleep deprivation
Yep - still feed from that side but I started taking nifedipine 30mg SR at around 3 months when the pain was getting worse and nothing was helping. I did the hot packs / cloths, massage, showers etc and wore multiple layers of clothing to keep the area warm but nothing helped. It is mostly OK with the nifedipine but I tried to wean that too - unsuccessfully though!! The worst part is the increased time to heal on that side so if I do get a graze (or when my nipple cracked due to the thrush) it takes forever to get better. And the right side has always been our problem feeding side too.
As for the motilium weaning - go slow!! I followed the MCHN instruction sheet to the letter the first time and found my supply dropped off significantly - but that was probably due to the additional stress more than the drugs at that time. This time I did it slowly so that I could also manage the negative mental issues that accompanies it. You know the sort - is he getting enough, is he growing and putting on weight, is he crying because he is hungry and I am starving him etc etc. Failure to thrive bubbies really do mess with your head when you are new to this breastfeeding game and feeling vulnerable. Not to mention their moods and growth spurts which you think is related to the boobie juice supply but it really isn't you at all.
This time I dropped one tablet every few weeks - but I was also on 30mg. I followed the MCHN weaning guide - I just did it over a much longer time frame. In the end I was taking one tablet every 36 hours which I know was purely for my head and not for the medication effects but it kept me sane enough to realise there was no change in the supply and I was still getting overflow when Oscar is feeding.
I'm always here if you want to chat

wtg michelle!!!
I strongly feel that if you have a good feeling about dropping the motillium, then it will work. Positive energy all round is the best medecine.
im so proud of you guys :)
we are still feeding 6 times a day...and he has one formula bottle at night just so he gets used to the taste as i cant express anymore and some times my mum has him

Fantastic D!!!! The little man also takes the odd FF bottle - not because I can't express (although it isn't easy) but because I dislike doing it so much at the moment :( I need to get over it and build up a stash for when I go back to work in January. It is just hard because he is still feeding every 2-3 hours and at the moment from both breasts so I feel like I am pumping for no return.
Positive thinking and having confidence in your body's ability to produce is so very important. How is your sleeping going??

sleepuing is not going very well at all. I paid a fortune for acupuncture and still nothing. I just have to wait it out :(

Big hug hun  It will get better. Just make sure you look after yourself and get as much rest as you can. We're here if you need to vent
