You really do inspire others and you have always been willing to share your advice and experience to help other's too. It sucks that you never got it easy this time either, but you are dealing so well with the hand you have been given. You are more than entitled to have 'why me' days!

Janie, I hope today has been a brighter day for you  You are doing an absolutely fantastic job in a difficult situation. Your determination and energy to keep going really is inspirational. I hope that your "up" days outnumber your "down" days and that things will get easier soon

I am really, really tentatively bringing some good news to this thread. I'm so scared I'm going to jinx myself, but things are actually on the up.
The short version is that 3 days ago DS2 started to change things around a bit..............going longer between feeds, seeming to not want so much of his comp feeds, vomiting large amounts immediately after feeds. He usually has a bit of a longer stretch without a comp overnight, about 6 hours, but one night he went 10 hours! Then during the next day he went 5 hours between a feed, which is toooooo long. Given that his weight gains have been good, I was sure we could start to move things along. So was reducing/removing comps etc, but by last night was freaking out that I was doing the wrong thing! Spoke to my LC last night, and we have a plan - all being well (good weight gains, he's content etc) we will drop one comp a week. In fact, the last three mornings he has had his first feed, with NO comp at all, and then gone down for 3 hours! So that's the comp we're dropping first.
I took him to be weighed today, just to get a kind of starting point, and he had gained 300g in 9 days!!! So he's definitely ready to slow down on the extra :). I am so excited, but soooooooo nervous. Please send us lots of good vibes, because I am so scared I'm going to stuff this up!

Well done to you and your team!
I don't think you can stuff it up - you're taking it slowly, he's being monitored, and you can vary things as you go
enjoy!
-
Well done, Janie! I hope you can start to see the end of the comps. :crossfingers:

Frustrated, frustrated, I just want to cry :( Life wasn't meant to be easy, hey?

It is ok to want to cry, if you can have a shower and have a good cry, it can help get out all the emotions that build up.
Here for you xxoo
