I was told at least 6 months.. I had a classical cut C -section though, so apparently risk of uterine rupture is higher.. My non doctor diagnosis is 3 months.. Please don't think I am speaking out of line, as only you know when you are ready, but I am actually glad I had to wait 6 months.. There is no way I would have been emotionally ready before that even though I desperately wanted to be pregnant again.. My biggest regret though is going on hormonal contraception.. It played havoc on my body, and I didn't fall pg easily anyway and I think this made it worse :( ...GL with TTC, I will be stalking. Maybe I will see you in the TTC after stillbirth or loss thread when you are ready :)

My friend had a c/section and had her 2nd c/section 11.5 months later so was pregnant pretty soon after birth. I really hope you don't have to wait that long to TTC, you have been through so much already.

I havent had a CS but i know after a loss the Drs tend to say 6months as they think you need the emotional recovery time too! Only you know how you feel and what you need. The closer you have another pregnancy there is an increased chance of rupture, but like Mel said, if you are going repeat CS then they may just want to do it at 37-38weeks so there is less pressure on your scar! GL TTC!
I fell again quickly after my losses and yes i was screwed in the head for most of the pregnancies but i still think i did the right thing TTC soon after. The waiting would have done my head in even more. Atleast TTC made me feel like we were working towards another baby even if i wasnt pregnant again... But everyone is so different!

I was preggers with DD2 when DD1 was 3 months old and I had c/s's with both girls with no complications. The doctors didn't say a word to me about it being to soon.
-
After my first c/s I was told to wait until my antenatal check up which is what we did, I was bfing 24/7 on demand but we conceived when my first was 5 months old.
Good luck

So when should ths bleeding stop and a period return?
-
I bled for 7 weeks after my C/S and didn't get a period til I started the Pill about 5/6 weeks later.
-
I bled for 6 weeks after one section, and 8 weeks after the other. So I think there isn't a real standard ITMS?
-
I was told to wait for atleast 12 months but that because they wanted me to lose weight first *sigh*
I bled for 6 weeks and then got AF back 2 weeks after that.
-
My SIL had a full term loss (aug '09) and started trying again straight away, after a couple of months their marriage started to break down so she went on the pill then they got back together feb or march she went off the pill and got pregnant straight away.
Forgot to say she had an emergency c/s as well.

My sister was told 3 months was safe to start TTC after her 1st section, and she was encouraged to have a VBAC (although she chose not to). Getting an ultrasound of your scan seems like a good idea though, as everyone heals at a different rate. Your bleeding might take 6 or so weeks to stop, or it could stop really soon. Hopefully it will stop for you soon

I only bled for a couple of weeks A, it was really quick........
-
My bleeding stopped at 4 weeks, and i got AF at 6 hun, i really hope its the same for u xxx
-
My ob told me to wait 6 weeks and then we could go for it if we wanted to! She said she wouldn't allow a vbac attempt if the cs scar was less than 12 months old though.
Thinking of you often xx
-
Some dr's said 6 months, some said a year (I ignored those ones), I started trying after 6 months.
-
BF I ignored those docs too Lol, no way I was waiting 12 months!.. 6 months was good for me I think.. Although 2.5yrs later, I'm still childless.
Ahurani, if you don't fall pregnant easily, I wouldn't worry about setting a time. You know when you are ready, and it makes it so hard if it doesn't happen straight away.. Thinking of you today sweet heart xx
-
My bleeding stopped at 6 weeks...hope yours stops earlier xoxo
