    Holden Statesmans

We have a Statesman and its been pretty good...
Its practically rebuilt anyway , so much needed replacing straight away when we bought it in 2008 but we got it cheap

So its a great car except its getting old..

I have also been thinking lately about baby seats and how many actually fit in the car.
Is it possible to have three baby seats side by side in the back of any car?

At the moment thats not a worry though.. just future thinking..

What would you recommend upgrading to from a Holden Statesman, obviously we like the big spacious inside and I certainly dont mind driving a biggish car.
    I learnt in a 63 falcon

So give me an idea of what I should be looking for?

Also I smelt petrol when getting out of it thes last few days... Any ideas what that means? the tanks not overfull or leaking at all. Hell it was replaced in 2009...

Upgrade on a Statesman - for me would be to a newer Statesman. Unless you were looking to change vehicle type entirely to an SUV or something.

Not sure which cars you could get 3 seats into across the back, it's not something I've tried. Though I have seen a friend get 2 in the back of his Colt, so I've no doubt it'd be do-able.

The petrol thing could be something like worn injector hoses or fuel lines, especially if it's fairly faint rather than overwhelmingly strong when you get out of the car. Worth getting checked.

I currently drive a Holden Commodore Wagon, not the current sportswagon one but the model before 05 VZ. It is basically based on the statesmen so same in length and width. I have 3 carseats no worries.

I have fitted a babylove capsule, safe n sound maxi rider and safe n sound hi liner booster with no worries. Then when DS grew out of capsule I had the Safe n Sound meridan in the middle (forward facing) and the maxi rider on one side and the booster on the other.

To be honest I think you will find your statesman is one of the widest across and would best accomodate 3 seats, think the only car that is good is the Ford Territory.

The extra length behind the front seats is a blessing in the statie, because it allows kids to get in and out in front of the other seats a bit easier, and three across would fit. Like the others have said, I don't know what you could 'upgrade' to from there, unless to a newer statie, or maybe a 4wd (and if you like the luxury thing, then probably something like a Sahara Land Cruiser or something would be more up your alley. Or a Range Rover, but we won't go there. )

If I remember, I will ask the Man about the fuel smell. What year is it, and is it a six or eight? (In case he asks)

As for the XL falcon being big, not really compared to the statie, just a little more stylish! But certainly bigger than a Morris, lol. Cool car.
