I can't imagine not having my licence. I got mine at 18 and have never looked back. When I was 18 it took 2 hours each way to get to school on PT so it was a blessing to get my licence as it cut it down to 45minutes each way.

Me!! Had my L Plates since I was 16, but Dad was a bad teacher and I just can't be bothered.... really need to get onto it.
Do eet!
I swear there were nights when DD was little and a bit unsettled, the only way to get her to sleep was to pop her in the car and go for a drive around the block a few times.
If I lived near public transport, and it was good, I dont think I would need a licence. But I got mine as soon as I turned 18, I was eager to get out of the house and that was the only way how!
You should get your licence! It's like a different sense of freedom! :)
My mum has never had her licence has had her L's before but never got her licence and she is now 60. Dad drives her everywhere or she catches the bus (live in small country town).
I got my L's at 18 and P's just before 21.
Both my brothers have been slow as well!! 1 brother got his L's at 25 or 26 and got his P's some time after he is 30 in oct and has just gone to full licence last week! Other brother got L's at 19 and P's at 21 (has no car and has not driven since he got his licence)
I had my learners for about 6 years. My main motivation for getting my P's was not wanting to have to display P plates, so I got them just before that law came in in QLD. And cos I was so old when I got them, I only had to be on P's for a year before moving to opens.
Not having a licence never bothered me when I was younger, because shops were in walking distance of my parents house and then later DH was always happy to drive me/us around. But once we moved out, public transport was limited to taxis and the odd bus in this town.
I couldn't imagine not driving now, one of the best things to do is go for a drive by yourself, have the tunes cranked and sing badly!
I don't have mine, been putting it off since I lost my second angel as a passenger in a car accident, dreading getting them but I know I'll have to if hubby gets into fly-in/fly-out work.
I have my learners and had never felt the need to drive- strange I know, when i look at the freedom i would've had i cant believe i didnt get a car etc. Now we have 3 kids I gonna have to drive and really wish i had mastered the skills in a civilised place but i guess there are so many bad/mad/crazy drivers here i should blend right in pmsl
god, i would go nuts without my lisence! but i love driving (most of the time). i got my p's just after my 17th, so 10 years ago! i love the freedom, the kids and i can go anywhere we want, whenever we want! and for safety reasons too, i've had to rush kids to hospital etc, and it's so much easier knowing you can just throw them in the car and go.
I didn't have my license until March 27th this year :D Go for it.. you won't regret it.. I left it to long and while I don't regret not getting it sooner I am SO glad I have it now.. I can go out when I want and do anything :)
im about to go off my green p's....
gosh i didnt get onto my l's till i was 23 i think it was....my motivation ws to show my DH that i could do it
now having kids....i couldnt imaging not having it....i say go for it
Thanks everyone :)
When DP finally gets his p's i will be going for my l's so now to push and nag him ;)
I couldn't imagine not having a license either. I live in the country so public transport isn't that great compared to cities and all that. I got my P's when I was 17.
Once you have them you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. Good luck with it all. You won't regret it.
xox
i have had my L's since i was 18 (25 in dec) and i really need to go for my P's now ds1&2 are at school i cant get anywhere cause by the time i get anywhere on bus's its time to come home
I do not have my drivers
I do have my learners
I am 34 with 6 kids, and hubby absoultly hates the fact that i dont drive!
I am supposed to be booking lessons but i keep putting it off, my fantstic instructer moved to tasmania while i was pregnant, so i need to find a new one i feel comfortable with!
