    Default Second child Centrelink payments

So we are thinking of TTC soon and I just had a quick question...

Was talking to the neighbour yesterday who is 5 weeks PG with #3 and she mentioned that the payments for 2 children makes life alot easier....

What have you experienced??? Just wanting to know whether TTC is feisable for us?????

When you have another baby, any parenting payment you get won't change, but your FTB goes up. I think any rent assistance stays the same. Not much else changed from what I can remember. So it all depends on your own situation, really. How much you & your partner earn.

it's really dependant on income. it doesn't make a great deal of difference - the MOST ftb goes up is about 150 a fortnight...

    Hmmmm...

Thanks girls definitely some food for thought, although $150 isn't much, I guess it will help when I was thinking everything stayed the same...

Ella - I think the $150 would probably only be if you were a single mum with no other income at all? I could be wrong.

With 3, it still depends on income, but you get a large family supplement...I think its a whole $10 or so a fn.

There is a rate estimater on there. I haven't used it, so not sure how it works.

the estimator will help. go to online services - it's in there

the 150 per fn is the max amount, and would apply to those families whose total annual income is less than about 45k

When I tried centrelink site this morning it said online services were currently unavailable. Not sure if it is up & running now or not though, or if the estimator is included in that
