3 year old kinder in 2013 - who else is going?

Our fee is $1000 for the year. I will have DD toilet trained over the summer. She turns 3 in November. I love the look of this Kinder, it reminds me of the one I went to as a child. Had a great vibe about it. I have gone out of my area as I am hoping DD will then get a 4yr old spot in this Kinder. It has a fantastic reputation.

We get 1 3hr session a week hopefully the Friday morning session. It will then free me up to help a little at the boys school as they seem to hold a lot of special mornings and Masses on Friday mornings. DD does not have the patience to sit for any length of time so I have not been able to go this year to any of these.
The one time I did attempt, she ended up at the Altar trying to help Father with Mass!

Her style of helping in whole school Mass was not quite what he was after :lol: Her brothers and their friends thought it was funny.

DD2 will be doing 3yr old next ur while DD1 does 4.

DD1 turns 4 in May and she is going next year too. She is tt'd and has been for 18 months :D. Our fees are $2600/year, she goes 5 days a fortnight for 6 hours a day.

What is the deal with being toilet trained? Can they really not permit them to attend if they aren't? I'm in Vic so not sure if rules are different from state to state.

The one we are using is from 2.5 years to 5 years and they have not mentioned tt at all. DD is halfway there anyway, hopefully she will be fully trained in time.

They didn't say anything to us either... but I think it might even be beneficial for the un tt'd kids to watch the tt'd kids... it might not take long for it to catch on :D.

TT'ing will depend on the kinder. Ours don't mind pull ups, but I know of others who had to hold their child back until they were TT'ed. I just told DS2 they wouldn't let him go to 3 year old kinder if he wasn't TT'd :shhh:. Worked a treat ;)

ours is the same but they said if a chikd isn't tt'd then just to send them in pull ups cos there was no difference between a pull up and changing a kid who's had an accident.

when we went to the open day last year ds was about to turn 2 and kinder seemed so far away. I'm crossing my fingers he shows some inclination for tt over summer!!

Ours you can send them in a nappy but if they soil it they will call you to come and change it. Makes it difficult to go and do shopping or anything.

My ds will be repeating as he is an April bub.
I hope I have made the right choice :/
He just doesn't seem anywhere near as mature as his classmates and his communication skills are nowhere near theirs.
He also refuses to poo in the toilet, insisting on having a nappy put on or just pooing in his undies if we refuse to put the nappy on. I have pushed him as hard as I am prepared to at this stage, so we have backed off for a bit, for now.
I really don't want him being the oldest in his class, but I would hate to have him start school behind everyone else and then struggle.
And this way we get an extra year of being able to take holidays without all the other kids.
We do kindy through our daycare.

Ours have said they prefer fully TT'd put pull-ups is ok.
DD2 is mostly day trained now with a few accidents so we should be ok by next year.

DD1 went this year & fees are $300+ per term for 6hrs a week.
Not sure about next year as they are working out the 4yr old hours.

DD2 comes to kinder duty & loves the teachers so I doubt we will get any tears, she will want me to just leave her :)

DD will return to 3yo kinder next year. She started part way through term 2 this year (she had to be 3 before they would allow her to attend). She's born in May and due to the 'rules' here is not technically eligible for the 3yo program until next year, but due to being in the middle of nowhere and the kinder needing numbers for the program to go ahead, she was allowed to attend this year.

She's gone from a super clingy mummies girl in public, to running straight in and barely even waving goodbye because she's having so much fun. I can only imagine how much more she will grow during her second year. :)

oh wow! im jealous pacrac. i cannot for the life of me get ds2 out of nappies. im really hoping it happens over the summer holidays so i can send him to kinder in undies.

ds2's sessions will be 2 x 2 hours per week. what about others?

Don't be jealous! DD1 is 3 1/2 and only just starting to accept that she is to use the potty - not a hope of her using the toilet yet. She's had wee down pat for a little while though.

She'll be going 2 x 2 1/2 sessions per week, fees are $200 for the first term and $250 for each term after that.

Moo is going for 3 hours a week on a Monday arvo, thought that would be better for him than a morning session. I think his fees are $280 per term, had to pay something when we enrolled him too, can't remember!

I know when I asked our MCHN (and speech path) about lack of interest in toilet training, they both seemed to think they still had to accept him, not sure if that's just my area or not. Thankfully he has TT since and his speech delay is almost completely caught up so am very excited for him!

We have a parents meeting in November where we will find out all the ins and outs!

They said they can't refuse kids who aren't toilet trained, but they really like it if they are.
