3 year old kinder in 2013 - who else is going?

Moo doesn't start til Monday, has an hour and 15 minutes orientation I think. We have labeled everything, got new bag, snack box, shoes and drink bottle. Uniform I will buy on Monday. We are all very excited here!

DS goes tomorrow for 30 minutes for an interview with 4 others in his class & then has his first real session on tuesday. DP would like to come either tomorrow or on tuesday, trying to work out which might be the better one - i.e. finding out where his hook is, hat etc

DD2 has her Parent session next Fri & then starts he following Fri.
Kinda annoyed she is starting so late, she is bored at home & wants to start back at Kinder now lol

DD will start 3yr old next Friday. I am a little frustrated that they have to stagger the starts for a 3hr session. Her first two sessions are only 1hr 15min then her third is 2hrs then her fourth is the full 3hrs.

Have a new back pack, lunch box, art smock and drink bottle. All bought with 4yr old kinder in mind :)

Sounds very similar to ours ~H~. Moo won't do full 3 hours til the fourth week either.

DD2 starts monday - it's half the class for 1hr for the first 4 sessions which actually works quite well in them getting to know a few people and the teachers.
DD2 already knows the teachers and about 3-4 other kids in her class this year so i really don't think we will have any issues.

DD starts on Monday as well. She has 2 x 1 hr sessions next week (Mon & Wed with half the class) 1hr 15mins the following Monday and the 1hr 45mins the following Wednesday and then the full 2 1/2hrs on Monday & Wednesday starting on the 18th Feb. I think she will do the first 4 sessions with the kids who are doing the 2 days a week like she is and then the 5th/6th session is when they will introduce the rest of the classs. I know there are 30 kids all up, 10 doing both days with 10 of the 30 doing Monday only and the remaining 10 doing Wednesday only, so will be 20 kids per session.

She is very excited as she TT'd early this month (took us 3 days) so now she wants to show how she can use the 'big toilets' at Kinder lol :)

One set of grandparents got her the monogrammed Backpack, Lunch Bag, Sun hat for Christmas and we got her the matching monogrammed water bottle. I have already labelled her 'spare clothes' and put them in the bag and told her what they are for, have also done her Kinder shoes (think soles, velco runners) and also her socks. I also got her, her own little sunscreen which she can keep in her bag in case she needs to 'top up' on hot days along with lip balm with sunscreen as well (which she calls her make-up), I've also got her a pack of wet wipes in her bag as well just in case and we also need to provide a box of tissues per child per term as well.

Luckily my parents are coming to watch the twins for me on Monday so I can take DD to kinder and it can be all about her (plus then I can see where all her special places are) without me having to try and control 2 very boisterous boys as well but we have a very excited little girl here and a mummy who is also looking forward to only having 2 kids to deal with 2 mornings a week :)

Only negative is that I was going to try and start getting used to having to get up early so I can be organised on Kinder mornings but haven't managed it yet as 6.30am is not a pleasant time of the morning, but I'll have to start if I'm to be able to get me and 3 kids up, dressed, breakfasted and in the car by 9am for Kinder drop off.

so...a.couple of weeks in how are all our little people going?

ds seems to be enjoying it. he's not the sort of kid that tells you what he's done but he starts running as soon a he gets through the gate. no tears at all.

we have had more meltdowns than usual though which I am guessing is part tirednesd, part me leaving him and part reaction to change (we had to change the time of his swimming lesson because of kinder and we stopped doing playball).

would love to hear how everyone else is going when you get a moment :)

DD starts her full 2 1/2 hr day tomorrow, but so far she loves it so much so that when we get there she tells me it's time to leave :)

Also she has made friends already and has a 'best friend' and her teachers have already commented that she is very loud and doesn't stop talking when she is there and is very sociable. By the time pick up comes on her 2 days a week the teachers will be happy for her to leave so they can have some peace and quiet lol...

To be honest I think DD would be more than happy to go more than the 2 mornings a week she will go. At least it seems she will enjoy her school time - even if it is for her social life more than her education :)

Great guns here. A few tears at the first two sessions which were only 1 hour 15 mins. No tears at the two, two hour sessions last week so I'm not expecting any now that we are up to 3 hours this week.

He seems to enjoy it and we haven't had any toilet accidents, which I was kinda expecting.

The two kids that turned up in nappies for the orientation seasons haven't been back yet.

DD is loving it too. First 3 hour session tomorrow morning. I reckon she will be tired after that. Hope she either sleeps straight away, or powers through and goes to bed early.

Friday is an arvo session, i hope that means i get an early night friday!

We have had a couple of wet nickers. First time, she got stuck getting her pants off. Second time, she was helping friend to wash her hands, and i think the running water triggered wees. She hasn't had an accident at home for a few weeks, so hopefully she will remember to go earlier at kinder soon too. The teachers have been fine.

I am so looking forward to tomorrow, and a couple hours break! i think i am going to attempt to clean out the study.

DD is loving it and is really looking forward to going for 3hrs tomorrow.
Have a feeling my DD was being helped by HotI's when the accident occurred... Not surprising as DD loves playing in water & would have been taking ages.
No accidents yet but will see about the concentration level after 3hrs!

My Dd. is also in 3yo. She is one of the oldest as she is about to turn 4. She knows at least 5 kids in the group as well as the teachers as she used to go when I dropped DS. She is not phased whatsoever about being left without me. I think the teacher will have more trouble trying to keep her from interrupting. She is very confident. So different to DS, who cried for at least a few weeks!

Moo is having his first full 3 hour session tomorrow, he goes in the arvo so will be pooped! Last week he got stuck into the trains straight away, I said I was going to go if that was ok...he said fine but I could leave Buster LOL! Happy for me to leave but not his 1 year old brother!

How much food are your little ones taking?

our sessions are 2.5 hours and both in the arvo so ds has been really tired.

I'm sending 2 snacks, mostly so ds had some choice. something like yoghurt and a few carrot sticks or some watermelon or other fruit. most of the time one snack comes home.

ds has barely noticed when I've been leaving - too busy playing or getting ready to go outside.

I'm doing duty on 1 march :)

DD has come up with some awesome songs lately with lots of talk about her friends. "All my friends are going to kinder, all my friends are going to kinder....." "All my friends have all gone home, oh no. All my friends have all gone home, oh no....." Lots of singing and talking, which is lovely.

Also, two long sessions and no wee accidents so i think she will be fine now. Think she just had to remember that she still had to go amid all the excitement.
