My DS1 started daycare when I went back to work 3 days a week when he was 11 months. Personally I think it was really good for him. He was entertained all day doing paintings and role plays and reading and dancing... he had a great time. It also allowed him to get used to other kids and adults and has made it easier for me to leave him with someone so I can have a timeout every so often. Even mums with DHs need a break sometimes. :lol:
Don't listen to your XH! Babies/ toddlers can be full on and you definitely deserve a day off. You may find that you are a better mum on the other days as you have had some rest time.

Thanks everyone. I'm pretty sure I'll be a better mum for having some time to myself. & if it doesn't work out for whatever reason, I can just take him out of the care... no big deal.
I'm going to Sydney tomorrow until Wed for DS's first birthday, I only hope that XH hasn't told his parents because I can do without the lecture to be honest. They've all told me that when I move back into the area they will help me out (& I know they will) so that will more than likely be in the new year, so DD can start school there & not need to change.

I started my DS at daycare when he was 12 months for 2 days a week as I went back to work (2 days a week). He's now 19 months and loves it. It's great for them to interact with other children and become more confident with other people. You deserve a day off, don't let others tell you otherwise!

He is so not too young! We have children at our centre who are much younger and they really do love it. It is entirely up to the child as to wether or no they are able to cope with a care environment.
You are the most important person in T's life at the moment and you need to take care of youself. If you need time out take it, however you can. Bugger what anyone else says. It's not anyone elses decision. Even your XH's and most certainly not Xinlaws!. He's not here to help you physically care for the children. You need time to take care of you and the only way to do that at the moment is to put him into day care. When your are back in Syd, then they can help out, but you have to do what you have to do now. I bet you find he loves it!
On a side note I just put my DS into his first time at occaisional care yesterday. He absolutely loved it! Not a single tear from him, he couldn't have cared less when I left! I was the one crying, lol. I called at lunchtime entirely expecting to have to pick him up, but he was fine. He was happy when he came home, ate like a horse, had a bath and slept til 5.45am. For the FIRST TIME EVER!!!! So anything that gets my kids to sleep the night through in my books has to be good for them, lol!
