Hi
Sorry I don't use this forum often and apparently you can't message people anymore.
Was just reading through your posts and I think we may have our wires crossed.
HypOtonia = severe floppiness and lack of muscle tone (this is what my daughter has)
HypERtonia = severe stiffness and high muscle tone (like cerebral palsy)
I can help you with info on hypotonia. I don't know if we are allowed to post our email info, if not, you can catch me more often on essentialbaby.com.au in the babies and children with special needs section. Just make a post on hypotonia and I'll respond over there.
I know this is an old thread (I found it while googleing hypotonia and floppy baby). I am in the US and our pediatrician, at our 6-month checkup, referred us to a neurologist and physiatrist because of hypotonia.
I was able to get an appointment with a neuro on jan 6, which is great, but the physiatrist does not have an opening until April ! Unbelievable. Now I'm trying to find another one and see if they can see me earlier, but tough luck so far.
Can you tell me how much physical therapy helped your children? I am so confused and depressed now, I cry all day long :(
Thanks,
