Good to hear, Trav. Hope his appt isn't too far away!
It's 3 weeks (I think) but I imagine if the MRI shows anything funky they'll call us in early
Great news, and now he has a good story for show and tell. Hope the results are good too.
Wohoo brave boy! Hope it comes back good news
Sorry if it doesn't make sense, the barefoot princess is covering me with kisses
Glad it went OK.
They're not his images, but these are pretty cool http://www.science.uottawa.ca/nmr/images.htm
Lucky he wasn't phased by the MRI really as round 2 is on Thursday after they realised they have images of the wrong part of his arm. They did everything below the break instead of the break itself and the shoulder, which is the part everyone is understandably concerned out.
oh poo!
Unbelieveable. But still fantastic that he was ok about it. He must be a tough little guy.
2nd MRI done today and we got a bit more detail about why it was needed. The last MRI did the entire arm from shoulder to wrist and ruled out problems everywhere apart from at the break, which needs more defined images. They tried to do these images last time but a) DS1 was moving a bit and b) the doctors didn't think it was really necessary as they were convinced the MRI would show the nerve far enough away from the break to rule out a problem. So hopefully we will have answers one way or the other in the next week or so.
DS1 was great during the MRI, he's very used to all these medical procedures now and takes it all in his stride.
Quick update :)
The MRI has shown the break in good detail and it looks like the nerve is not trapped in the break. That's the good news. The bad news is they have run out of ideas about why his nerve is not functioning so they want to wait a bit longer in the hope of spontaneous recovery before they operate.
