    Splinters?

DD2 fell over in a patch of tiny *****les yesterday. She has 20 or 30 still in her hand. Like tiny splinters.

I got all the ones out that I could yesterday, but there are so many more. Covered her hand in antiseptic cream, wrapped it in glad wrap & a bandage overnight (improvising )

Today they're all red. I can't get any magnoplasm here, but mum told me ages ago that honey can work the same, is that right?

We're soaking it in warm salty water now, trying to keep it clean as possible (not the best child for that!)

I've just borrowed a burr digger/splinter remover thing, but they're pretty tender. Any idea's to numb her hand a bit?

Local chemist (more a health/gift shop than chemist) & doctor are an hour away, so would like to try everything at home first.

Was going to suggest icing it first too.

Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!

I suggested that, she wasn't keen, but I might try it.

Vegemite under a bandaid overnight is meant to work.

I saw something on pinterest for getting splinters out for kids. I pinned it so will quickly check for you

...Remove a splinter easily by applying a paste of baking soda and water, then waiting several minutes for the splinter to pop out of the skin.

Onion is meant to draw out splinters, put some over the area and cover?

Onion sounds painful? Will try the baking soda. Thanks.
