Question Spots similar to chicken pox

My DD has already had the chicken pox but i was just changing her nappy when i noticed both her bum cheeks are covered in small red dots very similar to the chicken pox.

She has a few spots on her face but im not sure if they are related or not.

What else have similar spots to chicken pox, an allergic reaction? I don't think its the measles and surely she couldn't be that unlucky..?

I can't make it to the doctors today so will go tomorrow if they don't disappear/worsen by tomorrow.

I did a google search and nope not either of those.. well i hope its not impetigo as that looks nasty!

I would take a photo but being on her bum i don't feel comfortable showing that and the spots on her face aren't photographing well enough.

    Yeah that's fair enough.

With the impetigo the photos when you google are usually when it looks bad and bad cases but they don't start out that bad iykwim. But yes it is nasty!

Hand foot and mouth can occur on the bottom as well that's what made me think of that.

Does she have any other symptoms? Fever etc.?

The rash sort of looks simlar to hand foot and mouth now that ive had a proper look at photos. She doesn't seem to have any other symptoms, but she does have a few spots on her face so i might check her mouth when she wakes from a nap.

She will be one very unlucky little girl if she has it

She can have CP more than once...but if it is solely inside her nappy area, I would just keep an eye on it and see if it starts to spread.

CP starts on torso and then spreads. Sounds unlikely to be that.

My two older boys have had HFM ... looks like tiny white blisters, but not pussy looking like CP. My boys had a few spots on their backsides, but mainly on the tips of their fingers and toes and some on the feet and hands. In their case, it didn't cause any fever or them feeling ill. They just had spots. Maybe a trip to the dr is in order if you're not sure - particularly if it's contagious, which HFM is.

I'd guess HFM as well. Can be a few spots or lots. My DD had a mild case, started on her bottom with a few on her cheeks and then a few more on the back of her thighs. They looked like little round bites to begin with, then developed very small pustules in the middle. The DD of a GF had a terrible dose, her entire nappy region was absolutely covered (including inside her vagina) as well as cheeks, hands, feet and back of her thighs. DD actually caught it from her (we think!) so we were grateful to get a mild dose.

When she wakes up i'll have another look, one of the spots had a small white pustule in the middle sort of like a tiny pimple. I don't think there were any others.

I think definitely a trip to the doctors tomorrow.

    My poor little girl

My first thought after reading your post (before reading replies) was hand foot and mouth. A friends dd had it just last week so if you're in wa it is possibly going around its pretty contagious. But not really as terrible as it sounds (usually) my older 2 had it when dd2 was about 8months and she didn't even get it, they only had a few spots for a couple of days/week. Hope you find out what it is and she's better really soon
