so I had a voice mail from the dermatologist from last night!! (my phone was out of action for 24hrs due to an intimate encounter with the bathtub...)
so all she she was she is touching base re Spocks rash. and she will just send me the scripts and information in the mail.
no idea what but sounds promising!!

thpught I would update.
so they think it is just really bad nsppy rash... a thing called jaquards erosive diaper disorder. which the derm said is a more severe form of gii (what they originally thought).
she has given me steroid cream to try.
Spock has started playing with it and jer vagina. I don't know if it is just her normsl exploring her body or it is bothering her.
What age did your girls start discovering their vaginas?
so it has gotten worse since I saw the dermatologist. a week using steroid cream,.. talked to her today and she said she will organise for a pead derm to see us in person. she is going to chevk Canberra first but more than likely we will have to head to syd or melb.. im to call back warly next week to remind her ( her words)

TT40, I know you're seeing the experts, but I just want to throw another idea at you... is it actually a steroid 'cream' you were using, or a steroid 'ointment' (creams are creamy, ointments are greasy like thick vaseline?) Because a certain proportion of eczema sufferers are actually sensitive/allergic to one of the preservatives often found in the creams (myself included, and possibly my son) and that means that although the steroid should be helping, the skin's response to the preservative makes the cream aggravate the rash? I make sure my GP only gives me ointment scripts now, and I have trouble with an awful lot of moisturisers, etc too.
it is cream. I was hesitant with the steroid cream especially as their first diagnosis was described in the boks as being caueed by steroid cream. but it got worse before I started using it. so I still am in hope it does something.
Aha... if it hasn't helped after about a week, it might be worth asking for a script for an ointment, perhaps a slightly stronger preparation (2% instead of 1%, if that's what the cream is.)
