Wow I think I missed a few cakes in here - well done bakers! Very inspiring :)
My latest cake that is my current favourite was this one for DH. DD1 said she wanted "Me and daddy in the vegetable patch" so this is what we came up with. I think the best description for the making and the cake was epic - I don't know how people do cake decorating for a living it takes so bloody long!

A very easy Farm cake I made for DS 1st birthday (even if he preffered to eat rockmelon).
Also my friend made DD1 Wizard of Oz cake, I don't have a close up photo yet though but it was fantastis so I thought I would share.

Thanks guys! Took me quite a few hours but I'm loving the fondant, so easy to get nice crisp lines.
OP, do you use cookie cutters or a knife?
I used a whole lot of cutters HotI. The strips I used a fondant cutter, on a roller. You can change the thickness and cut two strips at once. I used a knife for some of the other bits and also a series of metal cutters (they have a finer edge than cookie cutters I believe, so you can be exact with the fondant) to get the circles.

Ok, last one from me for a while, I promise! No more birthdays requiring fancy cake til Oct!!
This is for my DD's delayed birthday party tomorrow! I had a few issues with this one, I'd never worked with a dolly varden tin before and the fondant got a bit thin in places and ripped :( DS2 also poked it with a spatula!! Plus I couldn't use dairy so that was a challenge... But I am really happy with the result!
