You talking 'bout me Maz? I'm an old crow and I sat in front of you in Pakenham while you B/F Mateauz
Nelle  my house needs attention too. All of a sudden it creeps up on you...
I agree nappies will pick you up ;)
I was digging about in the stuff I crammed into Calebs wardrobe and I found a Beetlebums pocket that I didn't realise was missing :o
Maybe I have too many nappies! I'll have to a stocktake now I've been swapping things that C has grown out of!
WOHB Beetlebums pocket :D I was so excited I had to put it on him!

hi girls!
Well here is a tested and tried nappy!
DD was in baby cheeks OSFA AIO's that i ordered from NZ on ebay.
They have been great!
I put my bamboo/microfibre trifold inside the pocket (i didnt buy their i made my own), and DH used them while i was at work.
He put DD to bed in one at 12pm and we changed her at 5pm (i didnt realise he didnt change her when she woke at 3pm) and no leaks!!! i thought! good-o means my boosters work and the nappy is a success!!
I think i will still sleep her in the BBB when they arrive as i like the idea of it breathing in the wool cover when she is snug and warm in bed.
BUt still happy that my gamble paid off! Best $10/nappy ive spent so far!
Only thing i am thinking is maybe i didnt need such bulky trifolds - they are only 2 layers of bamboo and 1 of microfibre (when folded makes 6 + 3 layers)... as they definately dont get soaked enough for day time. So i might cut them in half?? or threes (single panels) and then can always insert 2 if needed.
What do you think??
p.s thanks for the knittinghelp info.. i will have look during the week when i have time to learn this newest talent hahaha!
-
Sounds like you scored a bargain PP - I'm pretty happy with my ecobumz that I got for $15 from Canada too. Had one on him for 5 hours today, and no leaks.... woohoo!!! (Amazing for Mr Pi$$y Pants...)
I'm getting withdrawals.. think I need to buy more nappies.... lol
-
LOL it gets like that Mel... I haven't bought a nappy in so long, I get itchy!!!!
-
woohoo.. just won a tot bots on ebay for $16.00... LOL
ahhh.. i've got my fix....
No.. I'm not an addict..
-
Ummm, Anyone else think Mel needs an intervention?!
-
mmmmmmmmm....I ould set up MCN annonamys, your DH's can pay me to discourage you all shopping then I would have more money for MCN.....and first dibs too...
-
I think she'll get one pretty soon with the bubs coming :)
-
Noooooo....no intervention.....
Although, does anyone think its strange that when i think of the new baby, I don't think of the birth, how it will look or anything, I see myself putting cloth nappies and planning which ones to try first..... lol
Hmmm... maybe I AM addicted...
-
Mel.........I think your addicted Hun, but dont worry, there are lots of worse things you could be addicted to.
-
Definitely worse things you could be addicted to Mel.
Well, dh apologised, so turns out he's decent after all, but I think you're right, to fully get over my afternoon, I'll have to invest in a nappy or two...:P
-
Mel, I would be far more addicted if I could afford it! and thank God I cant use the credit card! but thank God for Visa debit! that way I only spend money I have!
Knitters to be, I peruse the patterns on NC occasionally. I am loving the easy ones  I can do the more difficult stuff, but sometimes I dont have the patience.
Speaking off Knitting, i had better go and finish those longies I am doing as a trade with someone on here :p
-
Hi gudism!
I think when bub #2 comes along, you wont have time to order online !lol.... then again :)
It is addictive though. But i am being good and not ordering any more untiil i at least get my 2 x fluffy mail this week yippppeeee
I am currently in the process of cutting my trifolds into 1 x bifold and 1 x single insert. they were just so bulky and DD doesnt wet enought to need 6 layers i have decided. I might only do it to 5 and keep 5 trifolds as night time boosters :)
Melham - BBH fluffy mail is due by wednesday! yay! ill drop you a message when they get here ! :)
Nelle - im glad DH apologised! although.. you coul dhave bribed some sympathy nappies out of him for being mean to you!
Christy - i know you told me but have preggy brain - when does the big move happen?
i took the day off work today (shhhhh lol)... to get some things done at home :) Easier with DH here to get my sewing and housework done (although he has his head over a bowl of eculyptus vapours and a towel atm :( )
WOHM - Sposie :( (until i finish fixing up the pocket inserts!
-
Well I'm impressed.... none of my BBB's were dry last night so I chucked Alex in an Itti Bitti with a Maz Bamboo Booster and it lasted all night (thirteen hours)... the best part is that it is a large and he is only just into mediums. I was expecting a big mess !!
-
thats great news Cookiemonster (lol need to get used to this name hehe)!
I have a couple of medium itii bittis AIO for DD - she is only 9 kg but i find they are too small and leak! So i am not going to use them on her anymore and save them for #2 in a few months
It think it is because they are such a slim cut?
-
I think the trick wit itti's is to upsize. I only bought lge for Isla. The are so smalll a fit!
-
I was pre-washing some new nappies that arrived last week & my swaddlebees AIO has dud laundry tabs :( (its hook & hook)
Will bubs get scratched from the hook on the inside? Should I just remove the hook from the inside?
(when Ive washed it, I had to do it up like it was on to stop it sticking to all the others)
-
that sux sal, maybe contact the vendor? they may swap it over as its a manufacturing issue.
Well Pip is a right royal pain ATM, he's been crying non-stop since about 10pm. Doh. Do I *really* need ecobubs wool pockets? I'm tinking so.
Might also email widdlewuns and see if I can go on a waiting list for snoozywuns ;)
WoHB - magicall.
-
skittlebub : i agree - i would call where you bought them from, and change them under warranty! as that is dangerous to our bubs sensitive skin!
FJ: i know! its good to know that though now! i wonder if it is the same with the baby beehinds covers (wool and PUL) and i have ordered a heap of medium and i would hate them to be to small for DD as then i have to spend more $$ upsizing!
WOHB: Khaki Cheeky Butts PUL pocket with Bamboo booster.... (lets hope it last the day time nap!:))
-
ash i also love how long ittis last!!! sophie has 1 medium which last hours and 2 new larges!!
kaz hope pips better!! and yes you need a new nappy!!
-
arghhhh ecobubs only does bank xfer within NZ. its saying ccard only. ahhh well.
(and pip continues to cry)
WoHB - BBB with BB PUL cover.
-
Kaz - want me to get you a ecobubs ? (I got mine from Nurture Nappies by paypal) so I can pay and you can deposit money in my bank account if you like?
I understand the attraction after all - I brought two!!! LOL
WOHB: ummm.. BB Hemp I think.. with my new Maz cover - woohoo !!
-
hmm ecobubs - now there's a nappy we haven't tried yet...kaz i can always get them with my cc and you can pay me if you like...pm me the details babe
-
Can someone please clarify what a BBB is? I know BBH is Baby BeeHinds..
Impressed with my Parents & Pumpkin pocket nappy dry time... it's quite overcast here today and it dried within hours. Unfortunately though the outside has picked up all the fluff on the towels etc that I washed them with :( So it doesn't look as good now and I haven't even used it yet!!
Looking forward to 'fluffy mail' this week (love that term!).. I'm expecting two packages - how exciting! :)
WOHB (I assume stands for 'what's on his bum') - 'Real Nappies' prefold...
-
BBB (unless I'm mistaken) is Baby Beehinds Bamboo...
isn't it?? LOL
WOHB: Motherease boosted with extra bamboo from Baby Beehinds.. and Baby Beehinds PUL cover... (which is nearly too big for him again cos he's just lost over half a kg from being sick and not eating... :()
-
So... after i took the nappy off this morning... he decided to wee all over me... and then poo - all over the bed. It was quite charming. Think he might be sick. :(
-
Awww you poor thing CM - I hate it when they are sick - I should know.. mine is sick all the time!!!! :(
 that little A gets better for you soon (and that your bed cleans up ok!!)
-
Uh oh.... based on comments here I've just been & checked out Nurture Nappies... now I'm in trouble!
I've started a 'wish list' and will hopefully be able to get some stuff from there very soon!
You people are BAD!! ;)
-
Don't blame me .... the others here have sucked me in...
(its like a cult I think...... you get dragged into the dark depths of debt here.. lol)
-
PP, I found the rise on BBH's to be too low.
BBB = Baby Beehinds BAMBOO
-
What do you guys reckon about wetbags? Are they worth the money or do you just use a plastic bag when you're out??
My wishlist is now in the $100's... ;)
-
Nettie - just don't go looking at the ecobubs wool pockets.. lol..
As for wet bags, I just started using one, and I think its pretty good... doesn't get as stinky as a plastic bag... I got mine on special from Sarah...
-
Shouldn't be typing, cos I've got Maccas fingers...mmm grease, but wetbags are great, the number of times I've almost thrown nappies in plastic bags out! Aiee!
Hope your little dude isn't too sick Ash.
-
Fj - so you wouldnt put your bub in a BBB + wool over overnight??
-
BBB and wool overnight has definitely worked for us at times PP. Depending on how much Riv's had to drink before bed. :P We had a stage where he was wetting through sposies and night nappies, but now, a well boosted BBB does the trick if a night nap's unavailable. You really will have to try it and see with yours. Just do it when the bedding's due for a wash anyway - just in case.
-
lol i have heaps of sheets so not too worried if i have to change them.
-
i too find them a little short in the rise! havent done us overnight for about 12 months!!
-
what about the mandy macs?
-
Not personally simply because they didn't fit Isla that well & she out wee's them pretty fast. Maybe new bub, not sure before 6 months as thats when I started with MCN with Isla.
