Got fluffy mail last night - Thanks Trish!!!
Have also enlisted SIL & the use of her embroidery machine when I make some fleece covers  Even better since they are in the process of moving into a rental 4 doors down from us while they build
Congrats on 6 months Maz!!!
-
I got fluffy mail today, but now I have to send it on to my friend. oh well, i cant keep it all.
WOEB: sposie @ cc
WOSB: knickers @ cc, unless she is asleep, then it would be sposie.
soon I am going to have to stop posting WOSB! unless it is night time or in the car she will be in knickers!
-
ali - that's great progress Sarah is having with TT.
suse - the poos get even better when they're eating all the foods that we eat! You should see some of Nina's! I feel for Heath this afternoon, cause he's going to have to change her
I'm waiting on heaps of fluffy mail this week. I think our postie must be on strike, I haven't seen him since Thursday  Typical north queenslander, we're very laid back here.
-
Suse- My WC took a while, 2 weeks i think. I am pretty sure the lovely w/c lady is having a rough time with either preg or new bub, so be patient. ;)
Dear Disco's Boobs....................GREAT JOB! ;) Well done on producing the gold stuff so well for the last 6 months! xxxx Happy 6 months Mat. xxx

I just went and brought some wool wash - woohoo, I'm making progress.. hehe...
Just wondering, can you put any type of nappy in the dryer? Is it only the ones with PUL on the outside that you shouldn't ? Like if its material, ie, like what is on the outside of a Sandman, then can they go in the dryer? I'm so sick of waiting for my nappies to dry - I'm nearly out!!!!!! And sick of using sposies of a night time.
And would you believe what my DH did.. he got fluffy mail for me at his work today (cos I get everything sent to his office PO box..) and he LEFT IT THERE.... He didn't think it was important to me... I told him (very seriously) in the car, that they are the only joy in my life and its not nice to leave them at work.. :cryinglaugh:
-
GUDSIM - the Sandmans i have seen, have quilter's cotton on the outer, and that is fine in the drier.
from what i read, the things that degrade in the drier, over time, if you use the drier HEAPS, is things like the ELASTIC.
i put in the drier - without any worries, all the inserts, the trifolds, the fitted nappies.
i put in the drier - SPARINGLY - everything else - e.g the PUL pockets with cotton velour inners, just a few minutes fluffs up the inner.
I don't feel any need to put the fleece or PUL covers in the drier at all, they dry so fast all on their lonesome as it is.
PINK PALACE - i've got a baby beehinds wetbag, they're a really good size, i reckon they would be fine for two in cloth. Even with one bub, i find having two wetbags very useful.
NELLE - the new bumgenius have a 12 month warranty.
and absolutely, any product (kozy designs or whatever) will work differently on different bubs, absolutely. If they work well for a bub at night, all power to that. i reckon, do whatever works for you - as a motto for life. (i got that from a permaculture newletter). I only have experience of one bub, and i'm sure plenty of things that DON"T work on her, will work on other bubbas/
MAZ - congrats on six months with your Mateauz!
Now, do you have disco balls swinging from teh rear vision mirror?????
ALIOOPS - wow. Sara nearly TT-d! that's great!
SUSE - had a bit of a splurge lately heh? LOL (but don't it make ya feeeel good - doo up, don't it make you feeeeel good? - channelling Bananarama there folks).
FALGUNI - was it you dreaming about longies hon? been there, done that! i dreamt of my dream custom longies MANY times LOL.
Bilby did a very many floaty things in teh bath tonight - DH (who was bathing her at the time) screamed out to me "I NEED YOU" - and handed a very wet bilby to me. First time this has happened to us. Poor dh. True love is . . . . . . catching many ycuky floaty things in teh bath water!!
We interviewed at a COMMUNITY child care centre today, they were SO positive when i mentioned we used cloth nappies, and even MORE positive when i showed them our PUL pockets. Such a nice reaction to get (from the Director). She even knew what a LIttle Squirt is!!!
WOTBB: dragonfly night nappy AI2
bilby asleep by 7.45pm tonight - first night she hasn't screamed for an hour before going to sleep for last two weeks - my ears are still ringing!
As a result of the traumatic time we had in the PND clinic (what a waste of time that was), bilby is very clingy ATM. and as a result, i cannot leave her sight without screaming and crying happening. the room the computer is in is very cold PLUS it is not bilby safe, so i can't have her in there with me, so as a result - my computer time is down to "not much" - so i havne't been online much as a result - i miss you lot!!!!
i feel a bit chained to bilby - i understand WHY she is so clingy right now, but it is SO wearing (and really limits what i can do).
-
ROFL Mel!!! I can just see you say it too.... My only joy in life.... oh dear, and you don't have an addiction?
Gigi :D I just love seeing you here *mwa*
WOHB: BumG.. she hasn't gone to care this week so I have a massive amount of BumG's needing to be used before I wash.
-
Well omigod!!!
Last night we had to go to DH's Parents for dinner.. we was dur home at 5.50pm and at 5.45... POOOOOOOO EXPLOSION!!!!!!!!!!!! i am talking major... as in i swear DD poo'ed her own body weight! In a new cloth nappy too! (WHY!!!!!) a Mums Bum AIO
Of course taking it off and being a toddler wont stay still so rolled in it, got everywhere all over her clothes and so i put her on the floor nappyless and then she weed all over the floor!!!!!!!
DH walked in with poo from one end of the bathroom to the other and a cloth nappy on the floor covered (lol he hasnt come to terms with the poo thing in cloth yet) and almost vomitted lol!!!
But on a good note.... no leaks!!! HA! it contained the whole poo , i didnt even now she had done one until i took the nappy off (unfortunately my little squirt isnt hooked up yet so hand wash here i came! ewww).
-
hehehe@ your DH! I hate surprise poo's!
I gave Isla yogurt & she hasn't had it for a while & as a result her poo is yuk. So she isn't asking for the poty, just doing it in her nappy. But its not smelly poo for some weird reason. So I took it off the other day with no wipes handy as I was about to plonk her into the bath anyway & I had to do this mad dash around the house holding the nappy on her while searching for wipes!
-
i know! i took Ashleys nappy off in the lounge on the rug and went holy moly!!! then of course they dont let you snap it back up so i had to cup the nappy on her bum to run to the bathroom!
SOOOOO much poo! arrrrr.
Well the sun is out today so i have started my prewashes of my BBB's yippee!
WOHB - Sposie... she is still asleep
*bliss*
-
oh gigi - it is SO GOOD to hear from you babe!!!!
-
gigi- i agree great to hear from you. Sprry you hossy stay was crap. Poor little Bilby sounds traumatised. Hope things improve soon. :comfort:
-
definatly good to see you back miss GIGI!!
yuko poo PP!!!
-
Gigi- hun great to hear from you!!!!
Well Annika is back in sposies over night, nothing i have can hold this kid
Oh Maz- well done and congrats for 6 mths yest
-
gigi - great to hear from you. I'm sorry yours & bilby's stay wasn't helpful. I hope Bilby settles down for you soon
beaxtrix - wow, Annika must be a peeing machine! I read your post yesterday, and I thought Nina was a big wetter. Saying that though, we had her in sposies overnight as all my nappies are wet from the rain, and she leaked through her huggies sposie. First time ever. I think I need a bigger size in them though.
PP - eewwww!
Nina had an accident yesterday with her poo too. I took her nappy off to give her some nappy free time (ok, I was too lazy to change her into another one), and she was playing in the lounge room and kept calling me saying 'poo'. But I thought she was saying 'shoe' as she had some shoes in her hand a few minutes earlier. Than I smelt the poo, went in there, and she's poo on the lid off one of her toys.
At least it didn't end up on the carpets, I only had them cleaned last week.
ETA:
maz - nothing in the mail yesterday. Hopefully today. I'm waiting on 5 lots of fluffy mail which is due this week.
-
I went to spotlight yesterday & bought 6.5 meters of the dot minkee they had left:redface:, it was $7 a meter down from $13 so I just got what they had left. LOL
I also have a layby at another store that really need to get out, surprised they haven't sent a letter or something
Hey Gigi! I so miss you. But can understand the cold room, I'm freezing my butt of here atm! So sorry to hear that your stay didn't help & made things worse for Bilby.
So hope things fall into a nice pattern for you soon.
-
Welcome back Gigi - I've missed your huge informative posts!!!! I'm sorry the clinic didn't work out for you - if it makes you feel better, my DS is a little cling on too... got so bad there for a stage that I was having to go to the toilet with him on my lap because I just couldn't put him down (he was about 14 months at the time). So I just went and got a sling and carried him everywhere. He is slightly better now... if I run to the toilet, do my biz and get back quickly, he'll only scream for a little bit
No fluffy mail here today - just a sick, whingy child with half a lung blocked... fun fun fun in this house...
But on the bright side - the sun is shining so my nappies should get dry... which is good, its been about 5 days and I've only got two nappies left in my stash!!!!!
WOHB: Black Monkey Doodlez - cos he is cool even when he is sick...
-
wb Gigi!!!! *hugs* sorry to hear the stay wasn't everything you'd hope it be. Lucky DH for getting the floaters in the tub (least I hope they were floaters :) )
OK, does anyone have any codes for darlings? I keep looking at the amber teething necklace, and they have them plus those cool longies and some organic side-snapping fitted nappies ... mmmmm. ust wondering if Pip's soundly enough asleep for me to do his measurements!
Pip's off sick again, we're both at home. Seeing the docs @ 3pm ... *sighs* poor little chap. Just can't get rid of this cough.
Sparrowgal - have you tried using moisturiser at every change? Regardless of the state of the bottom? I use moogoo (wonderful stuff!) and we have no problems at all ...
Ooooh, speaking of moogoo, anyone going to the Sunday meetup want any? I'm heading to that shop tomorrow I think? Or anyone want any in general?
woHB - no idea, the CC said he was in his home nappy, so suspect its a black BP (I'm a star!)
Bugger, that means I need to wake him to change his bum!
-
ooh someone has a smelly butt.. must be the antibiotics.. YUK.. suppose I should have used sposies..
Poor old motherease.. thats all I can say... I don't even want to LOOK at what mess that smell has created...
Had to share news - just got told that I've been accepted as a demonstrator for baby beehinds.. woohoo!!! There isn't any on the sunshine coast, so I think it would be cool!!! And they know I'm just about to drop a little crying bomb, so they said that I can take a couple of months to get myself organised... this is fantastic cos if there is a lot of interest for parties here on the coast, I may not have to go back to work when the bub is 12 weeks old like I was going to have to!! Woohoo!! Had to share my news - its related to nappies so couldn't think of a better place to post it... :)
-
Congrats Gudism!
Hope you have a great time demonstrating!! :)
I wonder if they need one down my side of town... maybe i should ask too.
Well i am sitting my cuppa and wagon wheels... yes plural lol waiting for my BBB to dry on the line (so windy atm).... contemplating using them at night but thinking i should wait until the morning to use during the day to test for the first time.
WOHB - CB Pocket with 8 layers of bamboo lol.... asleep and waiting for the weeeeeeeeeeeeeee
-
OMG was I ever right about the smelly butt.. I nearly vomited... GROSS.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to fold a flat nappy type thing for a boy? DS is out of nappies now (I know.. unbelievable right.. but hey, its been five days worth so its pretty good going I think) but I wanted to give flats a go. I have the old style ones here that I used as chuck rags when he was a baby... will they do? I have a snappie thing and covers, so I'm guessing as long as I got the folding right, they should work.
Problem is.. have NO idea how to fold.. lol
-
Question re: Mandy macs....
do you need to use snappis/pins? dont they have velco
-
Congrats Mel that's fantastic news!
-
PP - nope no velcro - snappi's is what Christy showed me at her house.
-
crap! if i knew that i wouldnt have bought them... DH wont go for it!!! poo!!!
Well does anyone want to buy 5 mandy macs brand new?
-
PP - he may not mind it after he tries it... Christy showed me and TBH it looks really easy!!! Even I didn't want to go there because it seemed too difficult!!! But I'm willing to give it a go...
You could always keep them as "home" ones, where its only you that change them...
-
oooh i dont know... its hard he thinks i have only bought 6 bbb... when he finds out i ordered even more and they are snappis'.... mmm i cant see him using them... oh well i guess i am stuck with them :(
-

-

So now i have to look at the snappi world *sad*... how many do you think you need?
-
PP - You can always try to sell them on ebay if you want... :)
Kat - I won't tell... I'm the master of secrets here... LOL whats a green bum though? don't know bout those ones! do tell!!
-
PP Stash them away as your rainy day nappies. Thats what I did. I have 7 Mandy macs. Did you get lined or unlined ones?
-
i can't for the life of me find snappi's anywhere...
PP they are easy peasy to use!!! except when they fling off and attack your fingers...lol
-
Kat - I got my snappi's from Big W...
-
i know katones... i tried them when i originally wanted to use flats and they always came off...
they have 12 on ebay for $10 is this good?
The only thing Mel with ebay is i will probably loose 50% of what i paid! crappo!!!!!!!!
FJ... well being me and clueless i got 4 unlined and 1 lined.. not knowing what it meant...:( but yes they will be rainy day nappies i guess..
WOHB - Green CB Pocket with Bamboo bifold
