I'm so totally confused about what my boy's body is doing!!!! The nappy this morning was totally dry - like I even stuck my hand on it, and no wetness whatsoever... so didn't appear that he had done a pee. I changed him expecting the morning flood, and OH MY LORD.... he totally flooded a mother-ease AIO... Holy hell.... he was saturated...
I'm guessing they do reach a stage that they don't pee as much during the night? I mean, if they didn't how would you toilet train them the difference between night and day?? I have no freakin idea what is going on!!! He used to pee heaps.. now is not.... its quite frustrating!!! :wall:
WOHB: Happy Heiny.. cos someone has to have a happy butt in the place..
-
Mel id pop in on the potty first thing if the nappy is dry!!! see if he pee's in that! saves soaking a nappy
-
AJP - its depressing to think that he's old enough for a potty!!! Where has my little baby gone... :(
Seriously though, I don't know if he would actually sit on the potty in the cold... lol Even though its QLD its still pretty chilly in our house (no insulation - 45 year old house) should I get his sippy cup of milk ready first and offer it to him at the same time as sitting on the potty?? I wouldn't even know how to start this potty peeing business!!! lol
-
OMG you girls can talk!!! i come back and i cant even find my last post hahaha...
well our BBH were notwashed last night so we had to resort to a pea pod with a night booster.. idk whats happened to my pea pods they used to be really good but they pretty much always leak now!! sux because i have 4 of them! which dosnt sound like many but my mcn stash is rather small.. i did have 3 BBH but the inserts from one of them are missing.. i emailed the company and they told me they could send me some majic alls inserts so i could atleast use the nappy again and that they would put some studs on them so they button in so thats something but idk if i can still use it at night now :(
got 2 ittis as well and an extra set of inserts which i love and get used all the time i am hoping to get more but we dont have much money atm so with all my covers missing too(suspecting someone had fun taking things off my clothes horse or there was a very strong wind that blew them far faraway..) weve been juggling with sposies and the very few mcns i have and the sposies are actually making her rash bleed (she has really sensitive skin).. luckily its pay day today and i am off to the shops to just buy some cheap covers for now so that she can go back in the flats at home..
so theres my nappy dramas atm lol..
gudism - ohhh tt they grow up so fast dont they!!! its a very individual thing tt if you think it would help to give him his sippy on the potty than give it a go all kids are different with what works for them.. trial and error really.
pinkpalace - i find my BBH smell really strong after a night sleep but she is a heavy wetter it is soaked by the end of her sleep..
mel- ohhh tax time i am still waiting for dp to get his group certs so we can get our centrelink money grrrrr damn lazy employers!!
hello to everyone i missed!!
with the longies can u knit those? my nan is always asking me for things she can knit for dd and i just had a thought that would be good since they are so expensive?
WOHB: atm its a pea pod :(
-
PP- i wouldn;t think calico was absorbent enough..... but i am noooo expert. I got some bamboo prefolds from BBH and they worked well. i got some cotton ones, and they wouldn't even last one wee for us.
-
I just got back from the school run........hoping at least 1 of my fluffy mails had arrived and NONE :(
-
Longies can def be knitted (or crochet) if you google andrey doodlepants there is a free pattern you can use. its the one i got my grab to knit from,
Oh well good news here Mj has gone back to only wanting to feed once a night, we were feeding every 2-3hrs for the last couple of days and I was drying out so on Motilum stuff atm.
Still waiting on our cute tooshies here!!
Am taking the girls to the Thomas show today, should be interesting!! all 3
*Noni*e*- have you tried strip washing your pockets??? umm i cant remember but possibly a cycle through the dryer may help with the laminate too (plase dont quote me on that)
Gud- is sad when they grow up all to fast!!!!!
Ok have to go, Teleah has chucked a Tanty and woken up MJ,
-
Jols, I might know someone who'd be happy to buy a couple of those covers from you when you're finished ;) You know, someone who didn't buy enough first time round :cryinglaugh:
Nelle, where are you?????????? I'm starting to get worried now. I hope you've just gone on a nice holiday without telling us :)
QM, so nice to see you yesterday!!!!! Girls, you should have seen Punky, she looked so cute in her hugalugs! Yep, I'm pretty happy with our BBBs, though like I was saying, it's the ones I bought from Carrie that I really love. There's no way the new ones would get us through the night unboosted.
WOHB: flat, oh how I love flats!
-
Thanks Bea & Noni - yes they do grow up way too fast... he walked me to the toilet before cos I said I had to do wee wees... :(
ALL THIS MONEY SPENT ON MCN'S AND HE DOES THIS!!!!! aRGHGGHHHH!!!
I'll just have to have another bub.. yup... another one... and maybe another.. lol
WOHB: Stinky butt shoved into HH still... really should change it but he's playing so happily...

noni i dont thing a strip washe will help the peapods but putting them in the dryer mught help like ness suggested but to be honest their know to wick!!
-
If you are knitting your own soakers, do you have to use 100% wool or will an acrylic blend do the same job once its lanolised?
Does anyone know of a store that sells a cover pattern (sewing) that emails you the pattern once you have paid for it?
Sam- Sounds like my nephew befriended Mason on his first day, he came home telling us he had made a friend called Mason.:D (Mind you, I am assusming there arent any other kids in the year level called Mason)
-
yep pea pods suck lol i have strip washed.. i think the problem is that the inserts have shrunk.. through normal washing i might add we dont actually have a drier :(
ummmm i am looking into getting some good covers so i dnt have to keep buying more (we only had the cutie ones from big w atm but they wear very quickly) what does everyone in here like? i saw at darlingsdownunder the bummies look reasonably priced especially if you buy 4 but i wouldnt want to buy them and then find that they are crap lol... i am talking about using them over towelling flats any ideas? i have one BBH cover that i am not overly happy with it fits well over the bbh but nothing else lol... found some good patterns for wool longies and soakers, thanks for that my nan will enjoy knitting them and it should save us some money too!!! interesting q re 100% wool id be interested to know that too!!
-
Sal, I use pure wool, and it does turn out soft. Big W have some good ones under $4 per ball.
-
Noni - I have the Bummi's wraps and they work fine for me on flats - and fitteds as well. haven't had a blow out yet!!!!
-
Sorry guys! My lappy's hinge is broken, so I have to use the other computer, which is a little less convenient. And now Si's crying for a feed...darn.
Well, just quickly - ALLRIIIIIIIGHT Ange, congrats mate! Wonderful news.
Jols, like Sez already said, Motherease Rikki's are the bomb. You can get 4 packs from Darlings Downunder last time I checked, that gets them down to about $20 each. Nurture sell them too I think.
Mmm better go, Si's started up again. Sorry to have worried you (ha, takes me back to teenagehood conversations with mum :P).
-
Aw cool Sal :D There is another Mason in grade one or two but if it's a preppie then it's mine :D I did ask Mason if he had a new boy in his class but they got a new girl so he was a bit confused. What is your nephews name and I'll ask him. You can PM me if you like.
For the knitting it has to be a minimum of 80% wool. Most blends I've looked at usually have more acrylic then 20% though so it's best to stick with the 100% wool.
Also I'm sorry about the you know what ;) but will make up for it!
WOHB red d'lish!
-
Sam - It must have been the other Mason coz John's in grade 1 (the composite class). But Stephen's in prep, so he must be in the other prep class
Thanks for the wool advice, Ill have to go out and get some, Ive only got acrylic stuff here, but its an excuse to go shopping
