sam you need to get your posties phone number so you can hook up parcel drop offs!!!
Sam - thats ok  Its an outcome I've come to terms with that might happen!!!
3 or 4 you say Bea.. hmmm.... maybe just 5 to round... up.... LOL
Lol Jols, I can just see Sammi now 'erm...I'm just popping out for a minute, watch the kids will you' - and sneaking down to the corner of her street for a clandestine meeting with her postie. :P
Yeah Mel, that makes sense. I've got a friend whose waters broke at the end of one acupuncture session where the acupuncturist did something with her pressure points, but I suppose as with everything, different people respond differently. You're making us so proud hon, you're doing everything you can to get your VBAC, even if the not-so-patiently waiting sucks.
I'm pleased to say that Riv is now in bed having a nap! This is after he climbed on every climbable surface, pulled everything out of my bedroom drawers (including a packet of bobby pins, now distributed evenly over the carpet!) and headbutted me accidentally where I thought I'd broken my nose for a second or two. Ahhhhhh...I might change Si's nappy, give him a quick feed, and then try and shower in peace...
thanks girls for your advice.
I didnt have the singlet tucked into the cover as the cover just reaches the top of the nappy... does that mean i need a bigger wool cover?
I bought another large BBwool online... but like you know (preloved) it was very shrunk.. so it retrospect it is probably a medium.
She does wear pants over the top as well.
I might try trifolding the long insert at the front instead of bifolding... hoping that will work
I bought a second nappy bucket today at target... i knw crazy woman.. there were so many people that i was very flustered and didnt buy any toys. Just a couple of dummies for #2 and a nappy bucket.
oh well
And... in kmart.. they have those little 24 peg hanger things (you know the ones you clip your smalls onto to hang on rainy days)... i thought they would be good for my liners/inserts etc... so it was $16.99 and it scaned for $5 so i went back and got a 2nd one !lol thought i would let you know in case anyone else is looking to buy them because of this crap weather
My BBB and BBH are all in the dryer.. was going to leave them inside ont he airer but will take days and surely that isnt good for them
WOHB - BBB + Wool cover
PP...which Kmart?
It was at capalaba Mel. But i would say they will probably be like that.
They only had 1 type - a blue one and it didnt show as discounted... that was the price that came up! :P
I have just ordered 12 snappis on ebay for $8.50. so spiky mail for me! lol
LMAO maybe he did a drop and run as he was coming first thing in the morning and catching me in all my morning glory. Oh the horror :cryinglaugh:
Just one more pair of longies Nelle - for Vy....hmmm yummy!!!!!
didnt get my LS was on a mission to get Jed a tie and Nikolaus a pair of pants - and went to the target sale...put 2 DS lites on layby for the boys for chirstmas and bought singstar for me heheheh I mean them.
Still no tax cheque :( hopefully It will arrive tomorrow, monday or tuesday. unless the mail that was in the letter box was in there from yesterday and we just missed it...... I can hope!
Well the witches brew scent is growing on me but I doubt I will buy it again. DH likes it anyway. I guess I could follow the instruction someone has posted about how they made their own.... and maybe put some of my perfume in it, mmmmm!
I had to buy more sposies today :( I dont think any night nappies I buy in the next week will arrive in time for me not to keep going with the overnight sposies for a few more weeks.
Hmmm you know I just had a thought. I bet Target holds off on their toy sale till the end of July so more people have tax returns to burn LOL
i didnt bother!!!
who here buys second hand nappies? what are you thought regarding this?
who has put pul through the dryer to 'reseal' the pul? i think my blueberries need a reseal as im finding that there leaking!
FJ - I reckon you are right about that one.
Where do you get blueberries from? And do I need one.....
I've bought quite a few second hand nappies. My 5 blueberry PUL pockets were second hand and they're the bets nappy i have ever bought. I bought a few dodgy home made ones, which i kind of just bought to try mcns out. I have twoo second hand ittis (from shannon actually), two second hand BP's which are fabulous, a whizzkidznightz, a bubblebubs & a WildChild Ai2. They've been great so far - the blueberry's are easily my favourite nappy and the WC is not far behind.
Mel, you can get blueberrys from the weewuns and ummm there's another site that's white and bright pink but i cant remember what its called.
thanks ash!!
mel yep you NEED some blueberrys!! aesome nappies i have 11 of them!
11 !!!!!
holy moley.. I don't think I have 11 of any particular brand... I'm a nappy ****...
Hi girls!
Just recently DH and i went to the baby expo and saw all the demo's and different MCN's available.... we compared Bumgenius, Peapods, BBH's & another one can't remember the name! We loved them all but the one that we liked the most was the "Peapods" so we ordered 20 in different colours!! They arrived the other week and we love them! Well, haven't used them yet of course  but can't wait to.
Who else in here uses Peapods? :D
We also have a few BBH's but found them to be alot more bulkier and more expensive.
We want to buy probably 10 more MCN's though but a different brand......... what are the Blueberry's like?? where do i find out about them? edit - thanks Cookie just read your post! I'll try Weewuns!
OMG! the blueberries are so expensive!!!! but sooo cute..... i want the cowhide one's!!! can we get them cheaper???
 @ nappy ****!
Ive ordered two new blueberrys so i hav seven... plus an extra four inserts so i guess thats 11 :p
Jols, I have a few second hand nappies - most of my stash is second hand coz Im too broke to buy many new ones. The only ones we have had big leaks with are the swaddlebees, but they are too narrow for the girls so the issue is with the fit for us
OOoh those minky blueberry ones sure are purdy... *wipes off drool*
Ren - i don't have any peapods cos I heard too much bad feedback about them. Although you hear bad stuff about all different kinds of nappies, so it just depends on what kind of bub you have. :)
:( really? We thought they were more practical than alot of the others and appealed to us the most so we'll try them out... geez we've invested $300 into them. We liked how you get a wet bag with each one and love the pockets the best.
Those blueberry's are really cute but $40?? they must be some special nappy!! lol
Ren, like I said, they could work fine for you. I just went with the big names with great feedback... but even then, some people on here love their Green Kids (I think they are awesome) and some people hate them.. so it just depends :)
I'm sure you will make them work :)
i have quite a few second hand BBB. and they seem to be ok :)
Havent tried peapods sorry!
And have to look at these blueberries
nappy ****!! there the best Ange agrees!!
ren hun im sorry to say that i aslo hated my peapods especially the red ones, they leak badly :( its best to try and buy as you go so you know what works first, but hey you never know you guys might love them!!!
Gudism - thank you... i just googled them for reviews and found a thread on another forum and probably 60% of the posters liked the peapods and were happy with them and the others weren't... but like you said, you get that with everything huh..... we'llj ust have to see what our bubs butt does! I'm sure we will manage with them and we can always find ways to make them work better (more booster or a cover etc)
AJP - where did they leak tho? around the legs? at the back? or through the fabric? i like how they are snaps instead of velcro... we bought 3 reds but aren't they all the same??? no matter the colour? well we are going to buy 10 more nappies soon but dont know what brand..... everyone raves about bumgenius but doesnt the outer layer get really dirty easily as they are so soft??
Am so happy to read about the Blueberry's cause I won 2 on B4B for $16....had no idea what to expect so am looking forward to receiving them. :D
About the peapods...I have 5 am not overly fussed on them, I brought them when I was first starting out and I do use them but only if I have to as they tend to leak but that is just me....others love them.
WOHB......bubblebubs
Ren - I love my BumG's... but also love happy heinys... green kids....baby beehinds (fitted more than AIO)
I've never noticed my BumG's getting dirtier?
never had Bumg or others outer getting dirty!!, they tend to wick through the pul around the legs, as i said the red are far worse!!
 well i gotta buy 10 more nappies so i'll have 30 then! what should i get? 5 of one type and 5 of another perhaps?
 hope the peapods fit our baby's butt like they fit some others!! really don't want to know i've wasted 20 of them!
hmmm thinking i'll need a box of sposies as a 'backup' to get us through the early days
Sorry to be so annoying I am sooo new at all this so please bare with me!
I like the Green kids pockets. just looking at their website now. is this the best place to buy them?
hey if anyone is after baby legs (other than me of course) I've stumbled across a website that has a special on at the moment - buy 3 get one free - so its 4 for $46.50 (and if you spend over $80 its free postage too.. )
Ren - thats where I got my Green Kids from :)
Ren, if you're peapods are no good you should be able to sell them on bfb but you might only get 80% (i think at most) for them...
As for blueberries being expensive - they are a one size, their inserts are microfleece and bamboo - the best insert i have had so far, and there are minky ones too - minky is pretty & expensive. Oh, and they are a dream to stuff, they are so easy, my HH, BumG and Haute are harder to stuff and i always find they twist a lot.
BumG's are around $28 and they only have the microfleece insert, so a bit less absorbent, not quite as pretty, and harder to stuff... i reckon the blueberries are better value, but thats just me.
I reckon the only thing that might outdo them is an ittibitti but im not sure on the fit, and i have two larges that i use as night nappies (which are fab).
ittibitti! that was the other one we looked at... we liked them too very similar design to the peapods and the way the liner went in throught epocket was the same however we thoguht the outside layer would get dirty.... what happens when the babys are outside playing and just a nappy and singlet on ins ummer? or do you girls make sure they have pants on over the nappies? we liked the outer layer of peapods they seemed to be easier to wash, less stainable iykwim  but maybe not i dont know
we have to have pants here as sophie undoes nappies!! i seriously wouldnt worry about getting dirty, they wash very well!!
have you got any fitted and covers?
They wash up great! I had a blow out on my berry plush yesterday and it was absolutely covered and it has washed up fine. I dont think dirt would be too bad. Hmm maybe maz or someone else can help, i dont really use my ibs too often yet.
well i'm branching out i just ordered two berry plush and one extra set of snap in inserts.. they just looked sooo cute lol i ordered the dalmation print and the ocean colours.. someone tell me they are good eep they were pretty expensive!!!
Renstar - if its between itti bittis and pea pods my god pleaaaasssee go with the ittis!! i have had so much trouble with my pea pods! we are very lucky to not have a leak in them unless we put a cover over the top which obviously defeats the purpose of them being a pocket nappy with a cover included!!
i dont think i have ever had a leak with ittis and the way the pea pods wear (ive only had them around 3-4mths and the lining is pilling and lookd pretty old) i dont think they will last as long..
of your worried about the fluffy cover of the delish nappies you can get itti bitti nappies with a similar outer as the pea pods have a look on their website :)
Don't panic Ren! We have 2 small peapods and at first I hated them, but only because they tend to size large (well they did when I bought them, nappy brands/styles always seem to be evolving) and so didn't fit at first. They took awhile to fit Riv (haven't tried them on Si yet, he's a titchy one), but once they did, I just made sure they were well boosted (so some microfibre on top of the hemp or bamboo) and no problems.
Did you buy hemp or bamboo ones? I still use my hemp booster, I really like it.
Nope Jols I haven't tried it yet, but I've definitely heard of it - how would you do it? On warm? Hot for a short time?
As for what else to get - what about some fitteds with covers? I really don't think you can beat them for a newborn. And they'll go the distance better than most pockets when your bub starts sleeping through at 6 weeks (haha, fingers crossed! :P). Maybe some Baby BeeHinds Bamboo or Hemp, or some Tots Bots Bamboozles? The size 1 Tots Bots nappies are brilliant for young babies. I love them. We've mostly got size 2 - bamboozles are trim enough to fold down for a young baby, maybe from 4-6 weeks onwards, and even the cottons turn out pretty trim if they're tumble dried.
Green Kids are great too. The website's great, and I've also seen them at Nurture Nappies, where you can check out quite a few different nappy types. Think they've got Tots Bots Fluffles (discontinued, but love ours for Si) on sale at the moment. Oh, and I've seen GK's at The Wee Wuns too I think.
Can I just say I LOVE my mum - River was just irrepressible today, not repentant about anything, being very naughty, climbing things saying 'uh oh' quite cheerfully, eating random things off the floor, opening Si's nappy bucket and playing with the dirty nappies...I called mum just to talk to another adult, and she volunteered to come and get him and have him for the night so I can try and clean the house. I so needed that.
Oh yeah, as for red peapods running, I think it's a red thing, heaps of my red clothes run, and I've heard of many red nappies running or leaking...wierd. Maybe Melbel (Oh Great One who knows pretty much everything about any material) will know why?
ETA: Nonie, I LOVE my BerryPlushes, yep they're pricey, but they're just a brilliant nappy I reckon. Good work.
How come you can type **** but not pr1ck??? i dont get it!
Fluffy mail........a Little squirt! wooohoooo. and 6 itti bitti. i don't find the d'lish get any dirtier than any other nappy. The dirt doesn;t go and hide in the shag if that's what you mean....
I love, love love Blueberry, i would get these over bumG anyday.
Ooops, poop on carpet, gotta go.
I have a dilemma!!!!
I know I order a lot of nappies, and I went crazy there for a while, but I SWEAR, I only brought one Mandy Mac off ebay, which I got ages ago.. another one turned up in the mail today - with no return address, and I know I only brought one!!!!!!!!!
What would you do? Would you assume that the person off ebay made a mistake and sent you another one?!?! I don't know what to do!!!!!
And the funny thing is, I think they did make a mistake cos the one I got sent ages ago was a lined one.. and I brought an unlined one.. which is the one I got today..
*enter twilight zone theme*
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?!?!?
If it has no return address how can you return it?????
Email the seller off ebay I guess? Ask them if they remember sending two to my address?? I really have no idea...
