Thanks Raven will look at those too... they soap nuts just look intriging!! lol
Gigi - i did re- lanolise my shorties ( i as nervous for a bit that they said 100% wool but may have been lying lol) - but a friend made me some Night nappies to try to see if it was a boosting problem or my soakers and since then.... no more wet mornings! so i am thinking it was a boosting issue! :)
lol Katones! you are sooo addicted to fluffy mail! :)
WOHB - nothing!! in the bath with DH
-
Mel I had the handle on too gentle and it wasn't dislodging the offending item and I thought a little more pressure would do it...and then it was everywhere

Oh good so you did get a Night Nappy in the end PP.
Nessa, hows the overlocker going? Had much luck with it, made any fitted nappies yet.

Yeah did a swap for some to try out.
Need to get into my knitting as i need more shorties to go over! lol... just past the crotch in shorties #2.... maybe in another week ill fnish lol! (such a slow process!) - did it with a double long tail cast on and k2p2 and wayyyy stretcher waist... thanks for that
Katones - Fluffy mail is on its way :)

Its good FJ.... Still need to do ALOT of tweaking.. they arent very neat nappies like yours but they do the job... got to figure out how to widen the stitch...
I think i may need to change the blade cause it doenst cut Minky very neatly....
-
Gee the postie is going to love my house again.....
Thanks FJ, PP & Maz.... soooo excited :D
well 32 weeks for me today!!! only 7 more weeks to go....
-
God I am getting annoyed but it doesnt matter.....just petty really. I hate when people order stuff and back out at the last min. grrrrrr dont they realise how much effort goes into making things, especially when you have to cut it out, pin it ect and have kids under your feet. Its not like its easy or anything. Inconsiderate people!
Anyway enough of my gripe!
Im still laughing about the LS episode Sammi..what a clanger. I have so much to look forward to then PMSL
oh phone

morning ladies!
Gigi - I have baggymail coming, a cow print and farmprint bag!!!!! (heeheh) just couldn't help myself.
Pip will look gorgeous in his cow print nappies with his cow print leggins and the cowprint wetbag hanging around .. and moogoo on his bum!!! Definately use salt, (kitchen) salt sets the dye! I do it on all big things I buy, like cotton throws etc....
K - heheheeee well done, you little addict you ;)
Beatrix - wow, you're powering along! So very jealous!
Sammi - ummm er uck? Between your stories of logs in the loo and LS on the walls .... hehehe
Maz - :( naughty, was it a custom?
us - well Pips still asleep, snoozywun overnight and will be in minkytimes for CC. There's sun on this here hill, but not for log apparently. Ahhh well. Nice to hear all the birds in chorus anyhows.
Have a great day all!
-
Oh Maz, I so hear you on that!
Im on to my next project now. I have pretty much run out of bamboo now, only got enough left for NB nappy cuts now.
So I have moved on to "Spring is coming mode" & will be putting photos up for preview in the next day or so. See how much I can get done. I want to aim for going live with these on the 1st of Sept.
With any luck they will fund some more bamboo.
Poor Isla was saying Her wee wee hurt last night. Poor chook, took her nappy off & all. I had put a make do till bed time nappy on her that is velcro (well not yukky velcro but) on it & it was rubbing on her thigh. But her fanny was a little red too. But is ok this morning.
She is so funny I put a bit of cornstarch in her nappy last night before bed & she freaks out about it, I dunno why but she hates it being put on her LOL.
WOHB - Yellow D'lish
-
Our NB Magicalls finally fit & we had one on yesterday, then fell asleep for 5 hours :( wee all over everything. I need to put a load of nappies in the wash but someone has a screaming fit everytime I put her down
Melb girls - Knox meet anyone interested?
Sam - lol at the LS we've had that a couple of times
PP- sounds like the knitting is going well, I should get my butt into gear & do some knitting or sewing. MIL's knitting us some longies
Hello everyone else Ive missed
WOHB - flat & maz cover
-
lol skittlebub, that's happened to me a few times with Emily in the early days. I learnt that I would always need to put a cover on over it, even though it generally doesn't need one.
PMSL at the LS Sammi!!!
maz/fj - oh how frustrating for you both! That would irritate me to the core.
Look forward to seeing the preview of your new project FJ.
Well Nina has decided to start tt. Which is good, but bad, cause it means she's growing up, waaaay too quickly :( and I have all those nappies for her. At least I'll have a good stash for Emily to grow into.
-
Jodi, Isla is also on her way to TT, She has been really toilet awear since she was about 10 months. I think this summer will see her in undies.
-
Geez FJ my MIL thinks i am a nut when i tell her that when my little girl was 1 she was wearing knickers during the day.. she says "she wasn't toilet trained she was just aware"... good luck to all those who are about to start toilet training... fun fun fun...
-
Yeah Isla isn't at the stage of asking when she needs but if the potty is there she wants to use it. She poo's in the toilet more then her nappy, but that me knowing she needs to & racing her off lol
-
Thanks girls re: the bib - we even used it last night - now to see how it washes. I said I was off to start 'another' project but in reality I'm just doing another bib , have to make the edges better etc, and THEN I can move on.
Maz, you are too nice is all, if it were me, I'd be like "Well, I've made it now, and I've got your money, so enjoy!!"
Gigi - That prolly 'cause you'd be like "Why would anyone want to KNIT a bib?!" lol, DP was like "Nooooo!" When I put it on Punky for dinner, he thought it was just for 'show'??!!
FJ - You know what, I think it was cornflour that made the Punk's butt super sore, it was getting red so I tried it as everyone here recommended & not long after, yeochies like we've never had yeochies before.
Nelle - did you see my post about loving you to death if you really could pick us up for the meet sweets?? Don't feel you have to or anything but well, I would love you!! Don't worry at all if you do have to take Riv after all though Hun (or you've just decided I am a nutter & would rather not... ;)), just wondering whether I should be racking my brain about what sort of plate to make (hehe... of food) or not worry! :)
-
just a little note.....
there are ALOT more seconds on itti bitti site at the moment..... damn why did i go & look??
-
hehehe I just seen that too K, I want the Mint Lge but already have 12 on layby LOL.
-
LOL FJ i bought the medium rockmelon.. (hmmm can a boy wear rockmelon??) oh well he will be :P
FJ how many times prior to bub wearing your lil jacks do i need to wash them?? and any recommendations for washing?? cold/hot water? liquid??
-
where TT as well!! 4 wee;s yesterday!!
-
I would give them 1 or 2 prewashes, the materials are prewashed before sewing but to get that extra absobency thing happening you could go 1 or 2 mor etimes, & just wash as you would your other MCN.
-
kewlies FJ... by the way.. they 'fitted jack NB' will be on Jack's bum as soon as the NB poos are under control....
-
K honey thank you for letting me know about the IB's...I NEED MORE!!! hehehehehheheh
-
LOL Maz :P hubby is going to go crazy with all these fluffies for his boys bum....hehehe now to just get the evil MIL to get her head around them.... as when i go back to work she is watching bub.
-
I really wanted fitteds...dame it!!!!!!!!
MIL's mine loves cltoh but my mum thinks ive gone back to the dinosaur ages
-
LOL Maz... my mum says good on me for using the cloth... i used cloth 9yrs ago with my oldest (terry flats) and went lazy with my son... but my MIL she is the MIL from hell.. she does NOT stop interfearing.. she had an argument with OH saying "you can't put my grandson in cloth nappies.. blah blah blah.. & screamed at him like a banshee!!! he turned around & said well i am supporting K and you need to keep your nose out of it.
Itti Bitti is on it's way.... woo hoo!! the only thing that was wrong with it was that the itti bitti label was on upside down....
-
Hi All!
I know it has been AGES since I've posted in here. I haven't been lurking - I have just been offline for awhile. DS has been sick virtually all winter and I just didn't have the energy or desire at night to do much on the computer.
He is crawling all over me at the moment so I'll try to come back tonight and write more.
-
lol don't you love the itti bitti faults K. :P
I saw the Ittis, but I've already got the Green and Turquoise large, I want some reds, rockmelons, yellows...I might get a pack perhaps.
Mabel m'love, yes you are coming to the meet at Mel's with me - warning, last time, I took Cat and I DID almost kill her by almost pulling in front of a van at a roundabout...but we were talking about something very interesting at the time...and I was pregnant, which means I was about 400% less alert. :P
All these toilet training kids, are they on pottys? We've got a toilet seat for Riv, but...yeah...not much of a clue. I've heard boys tend to take a bit longer anyway, so not fussed. :)
ETA: Hi Heidi! Sick kids are a pain hey, poor things. Si's sick at the moment, all snuffly, I feel sorry for him.
-
Uh oh... i was naughty.... bought an ib, some bls & some gorgies from maz. Tax return hasnt even hit the accoutn yet .
Im spending my day staring wistfully at 'current balance' and wishing it would appear in 'available funds' as well.
-
If anyone has an itti discount code can you please PM me - Thanks
WOHB - BumG AIO
-
Skittle, Apprently you can't use the code on this lot of seconds. I tried doesn't work.
-
Thats ok Im after a pack of smalls. They seem to work well with us at the moment
-
I would try some med's as wellif your getting a pack, you will get longer out of them & they just might fit. say get 4 sml & 2 med.
-
Hi again, we are progressing to full time MCN use yay! DS has been in cloth all day. So far it has been Magic-Alls and I have a question about them...they seem to be leaking through the front, right through the outer layer. THis is the first time it's happened. I've just been using the bamboo insert that comes with the magic-alls. Do I need to use another layer in the pocket or am I just doing something wrong?
WOHB: Magic-All white
-
nelle where using the potty!!
-

Got my itti bitti (purple medium) not sure if i like the colour :( is very bloody bright!!!
& i got my fluffies from FJ!!!!! OMG they are simply the cutest ever!!!! soo tiny, i am sure our Jack will look gorgeous in his fitted Jacks FJ!!! with his Maz cover :) simply cannot wait for my boy to arrive...

DYEING and SALT
does it work AFTER you have done the dyeing, or only if you add the salt at the DYEING process? I put in a cup of salt AS i was doing the dyeing (it said to on the back of the DYLON bottle).
How much salt do i need?
to add to a washload of altready dyed stuff? or to soak in a bucket? for how long?
thanks in advance - i REALLY don't want to have to separately wash these things (for weeks) if i don't have to.
the vinegar soak didn't do much as far as i can tell. Now i'm all confused, if i didn't read about the half vinegar/half water soak from this thread, i have no idea where i DID see it. i thought this was the only forum i looked at where people like to dye stuff. argh.
FJ - i worked out the LILY thang, love it, what a lovely personal idea, love it.
Pink - what a crackup, to hear you talk of knitting being slow! you sound like the fastest knitter ever! i'm sure in the last few weeks, you mention you're starting to knit something, then (it seems to me) your next post, put up link to photo of finished product! i think you are Super Knitter!!!
Kazbah, "baggymail" - that's a good one!! Hope you post pics of Angus in his cowprinty stuff!
Welcome back Lil Precious! Looking after sick kids takes alot out of you.
Queen M - no hon, i was not bagging you out for knitting somethign unusual, i really meant it sincerely! Now i am awake up to wool being wonderful for ALL sorts of things, that pre-baby, i didn't know it could do, my mind is much more open to "the wonderfulness of wool"!!!
Alioops - thinking of you, hoping you're ok
Raven - the little squirt DOES take some getting used to. The lever is so sensitive, it took me a while to work out how to get to HALF without squirting myself to kingdom come!
Caleb sounds a brilliant eater - at Fasta Pasta, i can get bilby to eat exactly ZIP. shakes her head "NO WAY" to the free bread, our garlic bread, the cheesy macaroni, our meals.
All this talk of toilet training - another chapter begins heh? I THOUGHT bilby was becoming toilet aware, for a few days she was patting her nappy when she did a poo. But now, she keeps doign that even when it's not true, so bang goes that idea.
WOTBB: she's at childcare, so PUL Swaddlebees pockets with organic velour inners.
She's up to her 4th childcare worker in 9 days (meant to only have ONE primary caregiver there) cos HER worker is on holidays. So each of these FOUR workers have coped with the MCN just fine. it can be done - if the will is there. Thankfully our childcare centre has that "will".
Nessa - i'm going to attempt to put my antiquated overlocker in for a service this afternoon, hope it's ready in time for our sewing day, this coming Wednesday - i have SO MUCH sewing to do, i have no idea where to start!!!
Maz - i'm with you, would be interested in IB boo seconds too, but if i saw them, i would let you know ASAP, now i know you're after them for M.
If anyone has medium or large PUL swaddlebee pockets with organic velour inner, selling 2nd hand, please email me at g.j@internode.on.net
Got told again today, "you should wean her ASAP" and "don't you give her cow's milk? why not?" - grrrr, why does it feel like everyone disapproves of a 21 month old being BF? :wall: I don't comment or judge those people for what they give their bub, so why do they feel the need to judge me! it's not like i'm giving her crack cocaine!!!
I repeat my question about the meetup
i thought it was Sept 13th, is it Sept 6th now?
COuld somebody let me know please?
-
FJ - I ended up ordering 3 small & 3 med
ETA - Gigi - the PM i got said the 13th
