I cant find our soakers yet :( so the girls are in sposies at night until I find them. so sad :(
Gigi, There is no Ikea any where near here and now I want those crates that we saw!!! Bunnings had coloured ones like them for $20 each but I dont thing DH will let me. we have HEAPS of cupboard space here. built ins everywhere and then all the wardroes we had in the old house moved up with us. I am too lazy to separate everything in the wash, so I do cold washes (well, that and 1 of my hoses needs to be replaced) and just use the bits of aplix that are on the inside of the nappy to hold the tabs, but most of our nappies have snaps.
Dont think my nappy buckets have arrived yet either, so all the nappies are sitting in the laudry trough as they get used.
-
Ali hope everything turns up soon!
Calebs stinky nappy made my eyes water this morning  Time for a strip wash if I could be bothered!
-
OMG we have the worst nappy rash ever - coincidence that it happened after putting the cheap sposie on his butt yesterday?? I THINK NOT!!
Poor little bugger... put TONS of bepanthan on it last night - thanks to the lovely Kaz I can do that because of the liners.... poor little thing cries when I wipe his butt with wipes to clean off the poo... poor bugger...
DAMN YOU SPOSIES!!!!!!
-
Isn't bepanthan one you canuse with out liners?
-
Ah crap Mel...we had the same with Mateauz...one night of sposies cause of a blister on his ballbies and bang oh its everywere!!! Yes I use bepanthan on him and it doesnt effect his nappies :)
So good to have you back ALi..have to pm you about some hugalugs im after
On a different nappy related note...Vy fell asleep with a magical on last night..Jed put her to bed with it on and she was nearly still dry with it this morning. Its only boosted with one of my slim boosters but **** is this the end of nappies for her :(
Willow - I chuck everything in the one wash....normal cold wash it all but once a week I warm or hot wash it. i dont have time to sort out everything (Im very jealous Gigi) so with a little pray I close the lid and hope for the best.
doing a load now and had an aweful night (for the first time in months) with Mateauz..thenits off to target to buy a new bike for a little boy who isnt so little anymore :(
ETA - were the hell is Nelle these days....gone into hidding???? NelleI hope your ok hon pwease come back soon
-
Oh good then, Im not the only using the bepanthan without liners! It has lanolin & almond oil in it.
I don't have a heap of liners on hand & to be honest once I have used one over a zinc based cream I just toss it. I really need to buy some disposable liners.
Recommendation please..
Isla still has this weird rash thing.
Its like a spotty pimply spot. Some days its just a little red & rasied, others its looking like it has a head on it (white head sort of) then others like this morning it looks almost ulcer like.
Its not spreading but its not getting better either. Not sure what to do or try next. Its right on her fanny too so not a spot I can stick one of the optiflex things on.
Iv'e been using a combo of bepanthan in the day & that fungal zinc cream at night.
WOHB - the same iish fly mateauz is sporting in Maz's ticker!

Vic girls, i couldn't help but notice, for Reusable Nappy Week 2008 (9 - 13 October) there are HEAPS of Victorian events being put on, including workshops. Go to modernclothnappies website, it ends with a dot org - all states included, i just happened to notice the LONG list of Vic events.
beyond belly site (closing down) is now at 30% discount, no code needed.
Thanks FJ for letting me know that Bepanthen is not a petroleum based cream.
have you taken Isla to see a GP about her spot? sounds like it is really worrying you.
Maz, to separate nappies in the wash, i'm sure it helps to be obsessive about such things! i just can't help myself!! You're prolly much saner and relaxed - which is a good thing!
WOTBB: mazalicious Apple Mac cover with whatever fitted dh put on her underneath.
-
Really you can use bepanthen - the nappy rash one - without liners?!?!? I never knew that - I much prefer it over sudocream... seems to fix it better..
Maz - I've been washing mine in warm water - whoops - am I supposed to be using cold?!!?!? i could never remember when putting the load on, so just went warm - I usually do a wash that includes the nappy rinse option on the washing machine and use detergent, and then do an extra wash (cos sometimes poo isn't all washed off in creases of the IB's..) without the detergent - both in warm/hot water option....
Should I not be washing in warm? I'm all confused...
OH, and I never separate mine either - I'm with Maz - I just close the lid and pray...
-
No trip tot he GP yet. I will give it a little longer. To be honest I would feel like a bit of twit I think goin gin after 3 kids & saying I can't get rid of this nappy rash issue. Surly after 3 kids I should know!
To be honest I think its not getting the chance to dry out. It always looks worse in the mornings after being wet for so long. Even with fleece liners to keep her dry.
I think I might need to roll up the rug on the floor boards & let her go nudy rudy for a few days straight, Just keeping out of the carpet area's of the house will be fun.
So Disposable/flushable liners anyone?
-
I was also going to ask about the disposable liners FJ.. am very curious...
glad bepanthen is OK to use...was looking yesturday at the pawpaw salve...
-
what are you asking about the flushable liners FJ?
Gudie - i wash at 60 degrees all the time, other people wash using cold, all the time, some people wash mainly with cold but do a weekly hotwash, there is no actual rule - it's about "what works for you" and what you have access to/choose to do. but your MCN will survive hot or cold. If you're in any doubt (particularly about nappy warranties, it always pay to read the care instructions.
e.g if the care instructions of a particular brand say DO NOT WASH ABOVE X DEGREES adn you wash above X degrees, then if anythign goes wrong e.g elastic, your warranty will be invalid.
if you think you will forget what the care instructions are, and say you have 12 nappies of one brand (so the warranty is extra important to you), you can always print out the care instructions and blue tac them to the laundry door, so you don't forget.
The "separating out the nappies to wash them" thang, is a personal choice and more likely to be done when you only have one child i am guessing! cos it's one more thing to think about. It was drilled into me as a kid, money doesn't grow on trees and look after your things so they will last (and it will help the re-sale value). Plus linting and snagging of the MCN really irk me (see, personal quirk). Plus i really like black nappies! black attracts lint!
-
How many Ittis do you all have?? and what are your fave colours???
-
gigi, I want to get some but haven't a clue what brand to get.
-

Thanks Gigi....I'll just keep doing what I'm doing if its not wrong!!
Anyone want an 8 week old? She's not particularly cute at the moment (ie. screaming and very velcro like) but she's free to a good home.. *grumble grumble*
Kat - is it bad that I don't know how many IB's I have?? lol...over 10 for sure...
***** there she goes again.....
-
 Mel. She's hard work atm for you. I HATE newborn phase (is that terrible to say outloud?) but I do. Both of mine have been extremely hard work in the early weeks up until 12 or so... Matilda was hard work until.... nope we haven't reached the end of that yet ;)
I just put a nappy & cover on Jovie & she can't even walk properly... she needs more narrow nappies and I know the IB's are perfect for that... if only I could get some not in Minkee!!!
WOHB: cuddlebuns & mazalicious moo cover
-
Christy - yeah she's been unsettled for about a week now - day and night - feel like my eyeballs are hanging out my head - and DS has been acting up today too - no wonder I have grey hair...
We are taking her to the pead chiro - think it could be silent reflux but we aren't sure. Just want her to either (a) sleep, or (b) stop screaming. I'm not fussy - either one I would be happy with....
nappy wise - hmmmm - had DS in the nappy i got from canada for 4 hours this morning (whoops on my part) and it didn't leak - I was amazed. Well worth the $15 they are...actually I haven't had a leak ever with those....
WOAB: wild child
WOMB: blue IB d'lish
