I can't believe it - I changed DD at around 6ish last night - and just put her in an Erica's fitted nappy & motherease cover (expecting to wake her at 10 and give her a feed and a change into a night nappy) and I didn't end up waking her up cos we were exhausted because of lack of sleep the night before (I had a tummy bug) and DH got up to her at 2.30 - moved her in the cot - then she woke up at 6am for a feed!!

I was scared to take off the mother-ease and see what was awaiting me..lol... was all good though - sopping wet.. luuuurve my mother-ease!!!!!!

Thats all the nappy related news here.. no TTing news - just the one wee..

YAY for hot weather! Today not only do I have a empty nappy bucket, and a empty line but i got to show Ashtons nappies off hehe FINALLY WARM WOOT!
Ashtons DNA test came back today so hopefully now his dad will stop being a jerk and I can relax a little!
I accidentally forgot to change Ash out of his Razzily Rhino pocket last night before bed so he was in it from 9pm till this morning at 9am and he didn't leak! I couldn't believe it!!

my little girl doesnt really for into NB anymore!

She is in BBH overnight with maz covers, all but soaking through (what would one expect after a 6 hour sleep?)

So far my faves are Itt's, Spunkybutts, BBH's and lovelybums.

DS had his first cloth night last night (so proud) lol... he slept in a BBB and wool cover and NO LEAKS woohooo... he doesnt move hardly at all over night so i was thinking oh no compression leaks buthe went from 730pm-4am and dry bed :yay

Aaw PP - those longies are super funky & Ethan is SO CUTE!

OMG ok I can remember why cloth intimidated me the first time round with bub #1 - cleaning yukky poop off nappies totally sucks :lol: Esp with Dh retching and making a girly big deal out of it at the door with the kids giggling like school girls. We've had 3 poops today from ONE of the boys, thankgod Rip has a shcedule with his 'potty business' that involve poo's in his night sposie.

Maybe I need to get me a little squirt ASAP, washing runny poop by gloved hand is totally gross.

Or even liners, I have some fleece ones but are there any others that are better/easier? Not that my Itti's are staining or anything, I rinse/washing machine rinse/wash and dry ASAP so the stain doesnt set and so far no major spot issues.

Im going to be an Aunty in july!

Alot sooner than I ever expected but thems the brakes eh. My little sister (21) is pregnant, unplanned and the father isnt interested (which she knew would happen and is cool with) but its been a rough few days since she told me while she tried to come to a decision about what was best for them. Now its made and Im excited and worried for her, but I get to be there when s/he is born which is way cool :)

must say I am very happy with the swaddlebees eco nappy too, fitting her quite nicely now. do you guys undo snaps on such nappies when washing and drying?

also, do you think it will damage my nappies washing them the way i have - before i go to bed i do a pre wash then set the timer to do the actual wash during the night at about 3, they sit it the machine till i get up and manage to hang them out....

anna - yeah definately get a little squirt, the thing is amazing, even husbands can work it (and like showing it off to friends when they come round!!) the NAPPY GURNEY

Kitten - im lazy....I always leave my IB's snap in boosters in...only prob is then drying them....with the pre wash...are you soaking them at all?

Kat - postage is very slowwwwwwwwww atm. Im waiting form a package been sent express yesterday and it didnt arrive today :( but material that was sent last friday from Brisbane turned up today.

Anna - Yayyyyyyyyyyy how EXCITING for you!!!!!!! :leap: I love it when my sister or SIL are pregnant - someone else to go through all the discomfort and I get to hold a gorgeous baby at the end of it - without going through any pain - and handing it back when they cry.. lol

Cat - I don't think that will ruin your nappies washing them that way. Sometimes I do a load at night - then don't hang it out till the next arvo - usually I just do another quick rinse or something if that happens.

Got another 3 buckets of nappies to wash today actually - but I'm at work.. haha!!!! Not going to tell DH how to do it - we're going to try to do it with no washing liquid....

Oooh and I got sick of rinsing every nappy with the little squirt (trying to stop the shredding problem) so we put the wee ones in the shower with us of a night time and we halve the amount and both do an even number of wee nappies.. in the shower.. pmsl... better than bending over the toilet!!!!

Well last night Ethan survived another night 730pm - 6am in a bamboo boosted IB :)
( i took the hemp trifold out and replaced with 9 layers of bamboo trifold)

and his purple longies!

yayayayayayay... so proud to have 2 cloth nights....

might try the GNST tonight... will see if it is too big on him still

feeding...hmmmm we have good feeds and we have shiat feeds!!!! doesn't help that he is sick :( my poor little man.
he just pooed before (he hadn't been for 2 days!!) poor little man...BUT luckily i saw the start of the grunts and let him poo happily with no nappy on well 1/2 on (sorry girls TMI i know..but i was soo happy he pooed)

PP - my itti boosters have been shredding, also had a cute tooshies booster shred.. uh.. one of my wild childs (noo!!) seems to be starting to get thin and holey lookin...

mel - ooooh.... i dont LS my wet ones... i just dry pail them. i do think about it but nah couldnt be bothered lol. Just the pooey ones (although they are drastically decreasing... POO POO IN THE POTTY! this morning yayayayayay)

pp- i have only been squirting the pooey ones too. ethan is so cute in those longies!

maz - nah i don't soak them, just LS if needed and then into the bucket.

mel - thanks, i hope it will be ok, just wondering if saving on elect. will damage the nappies i guess......

soooo...NOT rinsing wet nappies isn't going to hurt them?? cos SOMETIMES i rinse them and most of the time i don't.... DEFINATLY rinse pooey ones....although after that last poo..it would have just rolled off...

*sigh* when will nappies learn to fold themselves? Kat - I can identify with the lack of motivation to fold - I am folding nappies in between sentences. As you can imagine, it is going slowly... :p

Anna - congrats to your little sis! It sounds like she's got a great support in her big sister.

Mel honey - I am so feeling your shredding pain. I love my Bamboozles, but they are falling apart on me. And the lint is bugging me to tears. I put a black teeshirt in the wash with the nappies (:doh:) and it is now grey and furry. Hey, those of you with GKs, do you find that the inserts lint up badly? Maybe it's my GKs as well? I put the inserts in a wash bag today, but (double :doh:) forgot to put the bamboozles in one too, so I can't work out whether it's the bamboozles that are linting, or whether it's the GKs and the wash bag doesn't keep the lint out. Who would have thunk that washing nappies was such a science? :rolleyes:

Well, I think I have just funded a couple of new nappies. I have a rule atm that I can't buy anything unless I sell something, and it looks like I have just sold something. Yay! Now, what to buy? :think:

Kat - no its usually fine to dry pail them, but I guess my kids have toxic wees or something and are burning through the bamboo. So I've been advised to rinse - and rinse we are!!!!! Just like stomping on grapes in a barrel - except its ****y nappies in the shower.. pmsl..

Suse i folded all mine :p BUT they are now sitting on the change table :(

I need to fold ours today too. DH put them in the dryer yesterday even though I told him they will be dry before we use them again if he hangs them up :rolleyes: I think he likes them to be fluffy.

I have a little non nappy woohoo. After DH's accident on Sunday, The car got towed to the holding yard and by closing time yesterday it was at the crash repairer and the insurance company said we should have it back when we get back from our holidays!! I have uploaded pics of the damage to the gallery. I am very happy that they are getting on top of it really fast!!

I had better go do some more pack for tomorrow!!

I got my bling today, and my other embroidered nappy AND my fitted! WOOT WOOT! Think I was dreaming when I thought his cow s/m would fit... sigh... have to wait till he wakes to see but looks like it will have to be sold on :(:(:(

I know of a couple of shops in bris vegas that sell iron on bling. It is designed to be washed and worn and I am pretty sure you can get individual letters as well as pictures of animals or planes, those sorts of things. They are not too expensive and I think i will try and do something on one of my covers.
These places also sell the individual colored crystals if you were game enough to try doing some glueing.

only problem with iron on bling is that its to be ironed onto minkee and that just dont mish well with a hot iron :(. Just becareful using an iron on anything polyester

Im so excited...our Christmas starts tomorrow so my little tubber is going to be wearing his christmas fluffy finest :)

Not much else in the way of nappy news... I ordered some more boosters to replace my shredded ones :( Also complained about one of my sewn in ones that have got the same problem so they are replacing that one for me cos I only got it in september.

Where is DH.. was supposed to be putting DS down for the night. Bet he's fallen asleep in there too. I want my ice cream!!! grrr..

I have ironed Minkee with a damp cloth. But I dunno how you would go with Iron on stuff. I think the pile would be too high for it to work well. I think Iron on would be easily picked off because you could lift the edges KWIM...

The place I go to specialise in sparkly things for dance costumes, so they prob know of a method that is safe for synthetic fabrics. I will be going there in the new year, wil let you know what i find out. ;)
They have horseriding right next door to the resort and you will only be at most about 1/2 hr drive from the theme parks. You can pre purchase super passes that get you into the parks cheaper and they used to do a deal where you could go back to the same park the next day for 5 bucks, which is great if the kids really loved something.
Also heaps of beautiful nature walks an national and state forrests around. Corrumbin Sanctuary is great if your kids are into critters.....

Euan is having a monster pre-bed feed and I so want him to hurry up so I can have dinner (yeah, I know, it's 11:00pm...) and go to bed. DP didn't finish work till 10:00 tonight. Can't wait until Christmas is over... Two more sleeps until we can sleep...
