I got nothing! I know for a fact something was express posted for me yesterday morning but still nothing. Not happy.
Oh man, there's so many brands of nappies. Is it wrong of me to want to have one of each? Why do I feel the need to try them all? This is an expensive addiction.
Is it wrong that I can't even remember what I've bought today?
I know that I've got two of Maz's Swaddlebee's. I think I've got the last one of Mantarays... BBH? I think that's what it was. I've ordered 3 from Genesaforge and 3 from Bits for Bots.... and now I can hear iishfly calling!
Oh and I ordered two of Maz's covers from last night's stocking, only to wish Mateauz happy birthday. It wouldnt have been wrong of me not to celebrate with him!
ETA: 3 iish fly nappies fell into my cart and Doh! I pushed the wrong buttons and now I've bought them.
You girls are evil putting me onto all these new nappy sites. *sigh* :D
PM sent Maz
now, a question about baby beehinds - i know i have read somewhere the differences between BBB and BBH - but which ones are going to be better for a girl? how does the sizing go on a newborn if they're one size fitteds...
I have a bunch of one size hemp fitteds for this bub BG and they snap down in the front and then snap all the way in. I thought they might be a tad big but I spent an hour snapping and resnapping them. They snap down to a pretty small size and newborns tend to grow a ton in the first few weeks so she should fit them fine in no time (if not from birth depending on size and shape!)
I think bamboo's are more absorbent but take a bit longer to dry, which is why I got hemp ones. You can boost them too if need be.
Im trying so hard not to buy nappies............this is a real bad addiction to have
bg - I have used bamboo fitted on both my girls and love them. No problems with gaping, drying time etc. But then again I live in Cairns where we always have sunshine :D
kitt3n - of course you need to buy more nappies from me ;)
my DH LIKES this addiction! he can see how it will benefit his bubba so it's fine! i'm trying to be a good girl - but it's really not working!
i have heard good things about babybeehinds, and want to get some (for home, i think fitteds or flats with covers are going to be more appropriate than AIO's.
will see what everyone comes back with in regard to what they like (esp those that have girls!) - if it's balanced i might get a couple of each...
Hey Jodi, you use the BBH/B on the girls, do you find they fit Nina ok? Jett and Nina are similar in weight and size so if they fit her fine they may just fit my two well. I could always just buy a few more of them for the boys and ask Maz nicely if she can rummage up some large covers for moi....... then all my boys will look fabulous ;)
I use BBB & BBH. Personally I love them. I loved the hemp ones, but they do get stinky & need strip washes more frequently. The bamboo ones are very absorbent and fantastic. I still have 6 BBB that I use with Jovie. She's almost outgrown them and is over 2 yrs old and about to start TT.
lol iishfly seems to be doing well from this thread HA!
Well we got our rates today and our water use is up 30% (abour $15 a quarter)... DH asked i wonder why that is??
ANd i told him it must be me having to wash every 1-2 days with 2 in cloth now... BUt in the scheme of things an extra $1.50 a week isnt too bad is it?:)
awesome - sounds like Bamboo might be the go (though i might grab a couple of hemp as well - i'm becoming a bit of a "try everything" girl!)
i'm gonna hve to keep an eye out for bling - i NEEEED cow bling!
bg i prefer bamboo as i too cant stand the smell or stratchyness of hemp :(
BG I would get 2 or 3 BBB's. they wont fit a new newborn but should fit from about 3 or 4 weeks.
OMG are you having a girl?? I so thought it would be a boy. Im always wrong though LOL.
The rule I think all new nappy buyers should stick to is to only get a couple of each thing to try & then buy up big once you know it suits YOUR baby.
Im looking at the new beetlebum carriers but I think DH would kill me if I spent $160 on one. But then I am also thinking, what he don't know won't hurt him LOL
eta - I dunno if there will be any cow bling for a little while, last time I spoke with Michelle the cows were killing her embroidery machine.
Pink, funny you should say that about your water, I have noticed that we seem to be doing well on water use & being on tank water we have to take notice. But I thnk my new front loader is saving heaps of water so I am happy.
PP an extra $1.50 a week is far preferable to $50 a week for disposables, not to mention all the extra room you have in the bin instead of filling it up with nappies.
Oh no! I just took a look at Genesa Forge and I want but I shouldn't.
WONB Nappylicious
WOSB nothing
BG - I brought heaps of pink BBB's when pregnant- they are purrrrdy.. hehe... oh, and I prefer my BBB over the BBH - the bamboo just seems to remain softer than the hemp, plus i find it to be more absorbent. I use the hemp one for DS on his naps - but use the bamboo overnight with DD.
Lots of chatting today.
Maz - you should go check out.. you know what ;)
what? I wanna know:
Maz - you should go check out.. you know what
I wanna know too.
OK so do I give Mandy Mac purple nights (I think they'r called) or BBB for night nappies. I'll probably buy 4or 5 so they'll (hopefully) have time to dry
ooohhh, I just checked out GF and the giraffe nappy looks so cute, but I've just bought a cushie giraffe... I guess DD only needs 1 giraffe nappy unless someone can talk me around?
