Ok, I'm now starting to FREAK OUT about my Iishfly - it's been 7 days and it's still not here, Arrrgh, I'll bet it's gotten 'lost' in the post.
Sas - Call them. You will get a response much quicker than via email. Did you do RP? not sure if they do eparcel, I cant remember.
Not nappy related, but YAYAY - Saw the physio today, and we have another win!!! She did my 'Pain free gap' (lower pain than any wider) measurement and it was 10 centimetres between my knees, so she is writing the Ob a letter to say there is no way this baby will fit vaginally and she recommends a CS. She booked my next appointment for immediately after my next Ob appointment on the 27th so I can tell her what he had to say (Which will probably be a grumble) but if he causes any damage by not doing a CS he will have a law suit on his hands, and the physio says that is a good thing for me to be prepared to do. I said to her that I dont mind if she recommends it to be at 37 weeks too, and she laughed. She did suggest hiring a wheel chair for the rest of the pg.
Nana - BumG's are on out never buy again list too. We have 2 left out of 4 and when the elastic goes on them they will be turfed too.
Smoz - thank-you for your encouraging message. I do still feel like a really crappy friend though. I haven't even been trying for that long in comparison to some people. I just wish I was able to fall as easily as some other women seem to.
Nappy news: DS did a massive stinky poo in AP today in a BBH (baby beehind) which slid all the way up the back to the top of the nappy. It was only in his nappy for maximum 5 minutes for my walk to the car to change him and he never sat down to squish it?! Stupid me left his nappy bag in the car.
Ali - I think your OB sounds like a right w@nker and I sure hope I don't ever have to deal with him. Why is he being such a stick in the mud about a CS? I've seen plenty of women CHOOSE CS for no medical reason and be given one so why not you? I've got nothing against those that choose CS whether it's for medical reasons or not. Each to their own. I just wonder why a woman with your medical issues can't be granted the right to what sounds like a much safer CS than VB.
NaNa - I've never owned any BumG's but after all this talk about their elastic etc. I don't think I'd ever try one now. Do they have warranty?
Sas - what sort of post was your Iishfly coming with? regular? My regular parcels at the moment are taking 7-10 days no matter how far they're travelling. No idea why!
Anna - do those toodlebugz fit the boys nicely? I have a friend with a chubster bub who I'm thinking of recommending toodlebugz to instead of babylegs and huggalugs.
WOPB: blue snap-in IB (itti bitti) which I hope holds up through his sleep.
They fit great CM! My boys (esp Ripley) have thunder thighs so for them to fit and not be tight is amazing..........and they are so soft too!
I think when I bought my BumGs they had a 6 month warranty, because I sent some back already because they had dodgy stitching and were coming apart. Some of the ones I have now, the velcro on the front panel has gone fuzzy and doesn't hold properly, or needs to be yanked off really hard causing more fuzziness... and the elastic, well, it's been ok until now. I'm so careful with how I wash everything, and hang to dry. Don't have a dryer even. They are used a lot, so maybe I have too high expectations of them. I'm just peeved because I can't afford to be replacing them so soon and DP doesn't need any more reasons to say "I told you so"...
WOAB: GNST and tots bots fleece cover
BumGs are my workhorse nappies and I have NEVER had an issue with them at all...
All are in really great nick, they get washed almost everyday, and she wears them a lot. lol I love them and recommend them to everyone, we even used them double boosted as night nappies to for ages.
WOHB:...pmsl...BumG
nice LimeSLice
yer mine are doing ok atm
this could be a really stupid Q but how does everyone else hang their nappies out to dry? on the line with a peg on one end or flat (ie over two lines or over the clothes horse)?
yeah, I don't want to be a BumG-basher... don't get me wrong. But Monsta bebe just trashes everything, it seems. Some are worse than others, but I have no idea why. Mainly the yellow ones. Bizarre.
Smoz, I hang the so that the elastic is unstretched, over 1 line, so lengthways instead of widthways and they are usually inner facing the sun so they can get some stain fade.
ooh lengthways on the line thats a good one....
yer atm i have the clothes horse that the nappies go on flat and then all the liners/boosters/bits and bobs go on the line
Works well cuz there is no one place in my yard that stays sunny so i can move it to where the sun is if i really need them to dry quicker.
Ditto - I never have the elastic taking weight, so the line goes from where bum-crack would be to the middle of the front of it, with the legs hanging over each edge.
OK, will search for that video.
Does anyone remember how many pieces in a fluffybubs? I think I'm missing one, and I have a HUGE pile of nappies to fold, ust that Pip pulled the FB out of the pile.
Don't forget, gossamer dreams stocking tonight, i really wish they'd put boys clothing on there, it's like nobody makes funky boys clothing once you get to size 2. *sighs*
WoHB - FB :D in red paisley minkee.
NaNa - lol...maybe evil wee attacks the yellow ones cause it prefers blue nappies? hehehe
Smoz - mine go on a clothes horse at the moment, over one rail, inner facing the sun, width ways and it works fine.
On the line, they get hun with one or two pegs depending on how heavy the nappy is the same way.
Yes Kaz - I was tihnking that same thing about GD today...its all girly stuff :( but oh its pretty :)
Bum G's...dont get me started !!!!!!!! Do you girls realise how many of them I have fixed for BB girls!!!!! Let the company know......they cant fix them unless they dont know.
I dont do the line...I use the clothes horse...no pegs needed :)

Australia post..pfft...they send stuff back to my twice this month and my longies ended back at their makers. Dont they realise us girls need our fluffy fixes before our kids are TTed!!!!!!
IM about to launch a little girl into out of space...she is so doing my head in atm!!!!!!!
BBL going to check out GD now and watch the site crash heheheh love ya Lesley :)
WOMB - WC night nappy and lime slushie m-a-l
WOVB - Fuscia IB delish and my foot VERY soon
NaNa, are your bumg's the latest verion 3? if so, you can contact where you bought them from, as there is a 12 month warranty on them.
oh later on, you say you got the Version 2 (six month warranty). that answers my questions. the v2 were so bad, many of their flaws were fixed, with Version 3.
i think the lesson for newbies is, if you buy bumgenius, but the version 3 type. (12 month warranty too). and buy ONE to try out. if you love it, then go buy more .
Cheeky Monkey - thanks for your feedback on the sewn in itti bitti's - see what i mean - EVERYONE has something to offer on this thread, cos it's impossible for any of us, to have access to ALL the nappies in existence.
Alioops - thanks for the doing up explanation, will try that next time i see that bub. I tried on lots of mcn on her today. she fits the Large BerryPlush great, medium Lotus, (so narrow crotches suit her chubby thighs well), medium swaddlebee, i tried one aplix nappy on her and it fitted horribly, even though she was in the middle of the weight range.
baby soft landings have a new shipment of OSFA Rumperooz which i'm also thinking of for this bub, must find out more first, like width of crotch.
most of the mcn i would like to get for this bub, are very hard to get, made in tiny quantities by people no longer taking customs. i'm hoping like heck, bub will fit in minky magicalls, at least they are easy to get.
Shellsbells - there was someone else last year, mad on Bumwear nappies too. i didn't consider them cos of microfleece inner, front closure (opposite of what i knew suited bilby).
SMOZ - welcome!
narrow crotched, absorbent nappies are absolutely possible, cos that's what i used with bilby. until she went and tt-d on me, little tart. LOL. i wish she was still in MCN!!!!
what type are you after?
fitted
pockets
aio/ai2
night
swim
tell me what you're after, i'll give you a list of brands and where to find them.
1180 - yes Possum Pouches service is just ace, i highly recommend Robyn too. Buy for baby might have a Lotus night nappy pretty soon on their listings.
NaNa - it is possible to have embroidery on a nappy and it still be waterproof. THe embroidery needs to be done with reinforced material under the embroidered bit, like Malden Mills windpro. If the embroidery is done without reinforcement (or a hidden waterproof layer for the whole nappy shell), then you'll get leaking. Embroidery can have thousands of holes going thru the PUL/fleece, every hole is creating leaks, so this has to be mitigated - with the reinforcing, or a whole layer of another waterproof fabric e.g hidden PUL, hidden MM windpro.
i had the same issue you're describing, so i went and asked the same question on Nappycino (where heaps of MCN sewers hang out) and i got heaps of replies, describing how to do it, with success (waterproofness). i haven't done it myself, but was interested to know it can be done (and how it can be done).
i think Melbel and Maz could give you a better answer, cos they do it for real.
what do you stuff your bumg's with for interest sake? is it the insert that comes with, or a bamboo trifold?
registered post costs 2.75 at post office
gives you insurance for up to $100 value of parcel
gives you tracking number for post item
CHeeky Monkey
babylegs
huggalugs
handknitted, sized legwarmers at sustainable hemp products
toddlebugs
and there are others too
the sustainable hemp products one look the biggest to me
oh Kazbah, i saw a funky BOYS ONLY clothing site recently, wish i could remember the name to tell you!
wotbb: noonee wilga custom made knickers to fit small toddlers
they have gerberas on them (flowers) but bilby thinks they are DAHs, DAHs! (stars).
i wonder how Maz and her sore behind are doing.
ANyone heard from RAY RAY and her impending new little person?
sheesh .. 4.62 !!
off to GD stocking !!
Kaz - check out a site called "just for boys" - it is australian ;) It is run by a woman in Perth
Gigi - no, they're all version 3! Hence my disappointment. I have one version 2 and the elastic went on that a couple of months ago and I haven't gotten round to fixing it yet. I suppose I should email the company... I'll contact NN this weekend if I can scrounge a few minutes and functioning brain cells. Of all the nappies I tried out initially, they seemed to work the best at the time (living in an apartment in Melbourne, needing OSFM, quick-drying reliable DP-friendly nappies). They still work, just nowhere near as well as they should.
I stuff them with both the inserts that they come with, or one microfibre insert and a hemp trifold. And I stuff them as carefully as possible.
I should have known better than to over-load with BumGs. Anything that isn't available in red just isn't quite right ;)
The GF night nappy is MM fleece, but the embroidery is fairly large and has a high density of stitches which no doubt is the cause of the wicking or seeping from that area.
LS - I was going to suggest that site too. Also, kidstylefile sometimes turn up some cool stuff for boys...
OK, DS's screaming is wearing a hole in my head and the porridge is leaking out...
:hello:
:)
Im bored.
And cannot buy fluff.
Hi Mel :)
Hi Anna :)
(oh - btw, sending you the pump on Monday, haven't forgotten, just been sick)
Dont worry about it lovely, was going to email ya tonight anyhow - I managed to nab one for a try from someone up here and liked it so I bought one on Ebay :)
NaNa - I have the exact same issues with my BumGs. LOVED them for a long time but am so annoyed at how quickly the elastic has gone in them. My V3s are OK but most of my V2s have seen better days. I had more of those than any other nappy too, but thankfully I think I only have about 10 total and I will slowly get rid of them and replace them with something else. DS pretty much wears IB dlish full time these days.
I was going to ask Maz to fix the leg elastic for me but then I found out how many she's already done and how much she hates it so didn't bother LOL!
I've actually relegated them to the stash for the new bub but I honestly have no idea how they'll go with less than tight leg elastic.
I'm going to mention it to Jayne (NN) tomorrow at the expo and see what she says - will let you know.
Does anyone know if your allowed to sell nappies on ebay if they're brand new in the packet?
Willow I'm pretty sure you can sell nappies on ebay as long as they haven't been used. I've seen heaps for sale on there that state they've been washed but not worn so I'm guessing that brand new in the packet should be fine.
I have bought BN nappies off ebay and haven't had any probs...all reputable brands too;)
Hi Girls!!
I have converted someone!!! (well maybe not all me) Yay!! She is due in July and going to use cloth!
My BoB cutsom has been sent today! I can't wait to see it!!! and...
... its my day at the expo tomorrow!! Very excited.
hmm i like aio and ai2 best i think (still learning heehee) i love fitted at home but it gets a bit much under clothes once you got to put the cover on and everything.
Haven't switch to night nappies yet because DS is such a skinny minny the one night nappy i have sits his bum up higher and arches his back so it doesn't look right or comfortable but was just thinking to my self that i may raise his mattress at one end and see if that makes a difference
but yes any suggestions would be much appreciated...My friend tells me DS is a medium to heavy wetter as its two wee's and change time in a fitted nappy
quick Q: how generous are the sizing of maz's covers?
should i get a Sm or M for monsta? he can fit into imse vimse Sm covers...
Rhoda - Charlotte is skinny and long (she is still 10kgs) and has been in Maz Mediums since about 3 months old...they are great because of the thigh and waist snaps you can set them for thighs and waist at different snaps). She is only just now in the second last set for both waist and thigh, depending on exactly where each individual cover is snapped. (they vary slightly as they are hand made etc)
So if he is isnt huge I would go the mediums, they will last you several months depending on how he grows.
HTH :)
Smoz - if you are after the narrower crotch, that are trim enough to get under store bought clothes, itti bitti'sare designed especially for this.
Honeyboy's I found were also quite suitable, and arent too bulky, they are also AIOs...woddlebots do them as do a few other places.
You can actually get clothes that are cut to go over cloth nappies too online, not in the usual shops though (KMart, Big W etc).
Which NN have you got now? You can alter teh boosting in most to suit your needs, this also helps with bulk. Also remember that if you have trimmer boosters for any other nappy you can use them in the NN shell.
The Good Night Sleep Tight (GNST) is also tailorable...they have light, medium and heavy wetter sizings that you can buy, also have external boosters that snap on the outside of the nappy so are really very good for tailoring for bulk adn absorbancy - you can check them out at The Nappy Bucket.
If you are worried about then bulk of NN, a double boosted pocket also works really well - my BumGs were great for this - I stuffed them with hemp or bamboo boosters (or the 2 microfibre ones they come with) and found they worked overnight for Charlotte really well.
I have also have success doing this when I had to with a wrigglebumz (NZ nappy site) witht he same double boosting.
HTH :)
Morning chickies.
Think of me today while Im exhausted and wanting to saw my own head off from a headache while the Wiggles are driving their big red car (me wishing theyd run me over with it lol) and entertaining my kids.
PMSL @ Anna
If it makes you feel better I was up much earlier than you today love ;)
Can the wiggles make it down here and run me over too?
Im sure they can Mel lol
thanks LS.....im still learning but yer i've got a WildChild NN and i dont want to remove any boosters cuz DS is a heavy wetter over the night that he's soaked right through it with all the boosters but will play around and see if any of my others are slimer and absorbant....will def try dooble boosting the BumG's
And with the fitting under clothes they fit ok its just he's such a long skiny bubs that he looks funny having this big bulky nappy withhis little legs
my friend and i are looking to go into business making and selling MCNs but i still want to uy a few more for myself first
hoy girls :D
i had a blast with Sue & Judith yesturday at the IB stand.....i was in fluff heaven!!!!!
i bought 3 pairs of babylegs (cotton ones) and they don't seem to be digging in to jacks chubber thighs as much....
also bought a OSFM swim nappy...was proud of myself...didn't buy much else...refrained :)
oh Kat - i hope you said hello to Sue and Judith for me :) they are top chickies arent they
feeling really crapola.....dizzy and shiat. cant sit still and then i get tired standing..blah
only good thing to come out of this is that Jed has been changing all the shiaty nappies  hehehe
of to try and do a wee without any pain
Hi gals - just popping in to say Hi, Ari is pretty much toilet trained now although we still wear nappies when we go out JIC and she just whips them off to go to the toilet. Whic works really well cause one nappy lasts us all day, no poop to deal with and I still get to enjoy my fluff - for another week or two anyway :-)
Still loving my night nappies - Maz yours is our fav and Renee from cuddlesncloth has a "special" one for me apparently - feel so spoilt :-)
Nana - Bumgenius have a 12 mth warrenty on their elastic - just give Jayne a buzz at Nurture and she will fix them up for you. I have lost the elastic in one of our and now I think the PUL nis going in my AIO - it's a bit puckered but we are nearly finished with them so not worth replacing.
Anna - hope you have a good time at the wiggles - we are off to see them tomorrow - Ari can't wait :-)
Gigi - I'm sure you will do a great job in nappy hunting for others, you could turn it into a consultancy business :-)
Anyways hope you are all well and enjoying the fluffyness
Maz hun, i know your pain isn't from your urinary tract, but if your pee is hurting due to the acid of it with the op you've had, get Jed to grab you some ural to neutralise the pee - makes it much less uncomfy... also helps to flush you out a bit so you won't retain as much fluid...
nappy wise - am about to pull the last lot of prewashing off the airer, put them together, and find homes for all the nappies that are, at this point, homeless... well, that's the plan - am likely to still be sitting here in a couple of hours relaxing as DH has ORDERED me to do today...
Maz - Is it the drugs or do you need to go back to the Dr? Check your temp hun
Anna - 'Toot Toot, Chugga Chugga, *argh we ran over someone*' Hope the boys enjoy hun, we were thinking about getting Sarah tickets for her birthday but DH decided to take her shopping instead and she chose cheaper stuff  If we had taken Em we would have had her in the Dorothy NN we have
DH is out op shopping for wheelchairs at the moment, so if he finds one a) I will be very happy to not pay the hire fees to hire one, and b) I will have some independance back, and be able to get out of the house!!! It will be a bit safer to use a proper wheel chair than an office chair though.
Really should turn the fan in the lounge over the nappies back on. Dont know why it keeps getting turned off while there is wet washing in there  Males.
WOEB: Mommy's Touch pocket with some sort of booster
WOSB: Bumble Bee CT
Had a great day at the expo myself... But am so mad at myself... I refrained from buying at all the stands and was going to go back for 1 buy... i saw a gorgeous CGR designs (Pic on my FB) that my sposie user friend talked me out of buying (cos i said i would do the rounds 1st)
Anyone want to hyena for me??? There is an MCN i want going live at ....... - wait there is only 1 should i risk telling ??? Hmmmmm ....lol.
There was also some girraffe print cushies there which i also wanted 1 of but didnt...
Saw my 1st ever NB fluff at the expo... i knew they were small but OMG how cute...
WOTB- Lou lou
