I just got a Mini lala of NappyChic! I'm so pleased, I forgot to enter the lottery this month so now I get one without even having to think! Yay!!!!!

CHARMLEA and anyone else who commented on their chubby thighed bubba fitting fine into a bbh minky magicall - thanks - will pass that info onto my friend and her bub.

ALIOOPS - i will put the cushie tushie on the bub again tomorrow, and take photos. i don't understand what you mean about the snaps, there is only ONE row of snaps. maybe i'm just tired! but i coudln't work it out.

STARSKY AND HUTCH - swimnappies?

• darlingsdownunder have the splashabouts
• clothiebumz have the monkey doodles
• nurturenappies have the imse vimse (my personal fave, cos snaps on one hip, in case of "poo action" poolside, for easy access)
• there are aplix ones (that close with velcro) like Motherease and bummi swimmers, i am not a fan of these, cos the aplix caught on MY bathers, when i was holding my bub and that SNAGGING of MY bathers, did not make me a happy camper!
• nurturenappies and calunaloves also have iPlay, speedo type and boardshort ones (have inbuilt swim nappy)
• also swim nappies on nappy chic right now (2nd hand)

HEY GOOD LOOKING - did you say tots bots and narrow crotched nappies in the same para? hmm, i'd class them as "medium crotch". bilby could "manage" them, but she had many other brands that were NARROWER in the crotch.

i'm so scared they will arrive, not fit/suit the bub and my friend will think badly of me! silly i know, but it's a long time since i nappied a bub that age, and bilby had THREE big rolls of fat on her thighs at that age, not ONE, so it's all different!!

my friend is putting all this faith in me! what do i do if we can't get legseal? if they leak everywhere? argh! i felt so confident mcn-ing bilby, now i've lost it!

i will feel better once the mcn arrives and i can try it on the bub, and she poops/wees in them so we can test out Pootainment Incorporated!

for those of you with SNAP in d'lish and SEWN in d'lish.

i thought a SEWN IN AIO meant the boosting was sewn INSIDE the shell.
now i see a pic of an inner of one (on a trading room post) and it looks like an EXTERNAL booster is just SEWN DOWN at one end, inside the shell of the itti inner.

so instead of booster being SNAPPED in, it's SEWN in, but only at one end.

so it's like a "flap"?
under that flap, is there a trifold, ALSO sewn down at one end?

so boosting is not UNDER the shell lining, but ON TOP, sewn down at one end?

have i guessed right?

hope you understand my un-technical terms!!!

i have had a snap in one before, so got that, just not familiar with what the sewn in look like IRL.

Gigi - Sewn in Itti's have the booster sewn in at one end instead of snapped in. BUT then there is also more boosting hidden inside the mcn itself. :)

atm EricaNappies with side snaps is giving me the best seal all round but they just aren't very absorbant. i've tried itti and bbh and wild child and a few more my baby brain wont let me think of

i love the BumGenius ones but i think they are very wide in the crotch and well when he gets more mobile i can see that being a problem as he can't really crawl well in them atm, though they fit my 3yo quite well for the night (he is TT just still does one wee a night)

So yer i want to know the impossilbe....what is a narrow legged absorbant narrow crotched MCN?

Gigi - Yep they are 1 row of snaps, but the wings have 2 snaps each. The snaps on the ends of the wings are for the waist measuement and the snaps closer to the middle of the wings are the thigh measurement. So putting it on you have the thigh ones looser than the waist ones by skipping a snap on the front and doing up the next one. I can take a pic if it helps. It just puts a little fold in the waist bit for chunky thighs and skinny waists, and stops wing droop.

Smoz - Welcome!! The brand that sounds like what you are looking for is Swaddlebees. They dont work in our house because my kids suit the wide crotch (Like BumG) but are perfect for Gigi's Bilby. Gigi is the master of narrow crotch side snappers!!

Rhy - Lots do, Just do direct deposit and in the comments section ask if you can layby, with a payment plan already written up for them.

Another narrow crotch that I dont hear mentioned around here is Bumwares. They are a complete AIO, all sewn into the lining. they are super trim, prob a little too trim, (dont know how they would go on a big wetter) but to go the extra mile, I have been chucking in the small bbb booster and I gotta say, I love em, even trimmer than ittis and with the extra booster, I get 2-3 hrs no worries. Aplix too.

Otherwise there is WOHB = What's on his/her bum.

I can't wait to try my new CT on DS, they don't look too wide in the crotch but I guess I'll find out when I put it on him. Waiting for it to dry - dry damnit dry!

Had a bit of a depressing day yesterday. Shouldn't have been, I should have been happy. My friend had her baby but I couldn't be happy about it, instead I was depressed it wasn't me. What a bad friend I am.

OK, I've had it with BumGs. For DS, they officially suck. The elastic in them is so shoddy and they're not holding up well at all, and they're only maybe 8 months old. I'm tired of having a wet patch on my clothes from carrying DS, he's always pulling them off the moment I put them on him, they gape around the legs because the elastic is almost shot, and I'm just not feeling the love anymore. So I just went and ordered three more swaddlebees... My holiday spending money is dwindling fast!
I don't want to put anyone off trying or buying BumGs - they have their positives. I just WISH I hadn't got so many of them all at once. I needed them at the time, and they were cheaper to buy in bulk, but now they're costing more because I'm having to replace them already.
Second tantrum - "Express Post - Guaranteed next day delivery" means nothing. I had a parcel sent to me by express post on Monday. It arrived yesterday. AP suck!! >>Australia Post<<

Also, I've learned another lesson today... the GF >>Genesa Forge<< night nappy I got has lots of embroidery on the back. All of which was saturated this morning, and left a nice teddy-bear-shaped wet patch on DS's pjs... Cute, yes. Waterproof, no. I should have known better.

I've posted a few abbreviation/acronym translations way back somewhere, but who could find them? Maybe it's time to have a separate sticky for them? I'd do it but I'm officially mush-brained...

NaNa I made that mistake too with the BumG's, if you want tpo replace with something similar, pop-in all the way, same style, but all natural inner and they just work better.

I got 2 sandmans in the mail todasy and they are just gorgeous, one has a minky inner, so lovely and soft. I also got a Possum Pouches KK and it's also looking fantastic. I must say the customer service from Robyn at Possum Pouches is fantastic, she is wonderful and will help you how ever you need to get the right nappy for your bub.

NaNa - Im not a bumG fan either but the ones I bought 3yrs ago are still going strong elastic wise. We've relegated them to the only-for-kindy pile so if they loose them I wont go banana's.
