OH Hon (BG) Im so glad that your home :dance: I didnt want to ring you or bother you at all....I jsut didnt want to take away any time from your darling Emerald....god she is gorgeous babe...oh I cant wait to see her cloth butt and give her big squishy kisses and hugs. ECO's are different to knitted longies...as mel said milled differently so a low warm wash would be ok....hmmmm waiting for longies too here now come to think off it.

2 more sleeps and Kat and I will be running a muck!!!!! Im gonna let my short hair down and groove my big fat hiney woo hoo!!!!!

I have a few covers now and some fitteds and prefolds as well, not nearly enough for a full stash, but it's getting there.

I am expecting another big baby (DS was 10lb4oz), so will wait until later scans and then if this one is that big again I can use a lot more AI2 and bigger covers etc.

Once I know pink/blue I will be stalking Maz though for some funky covers!!! :lol:

I had possum pouches KK on E last night and oh my!!!! just awesome, usually her NN are damp in the morning but not this one and it only had two pre washes and I only used two of the three boosters she gave me, very impressed.
If you are after a NN for a heavy wetter (and you can't get one of Maz's) go the KK!!

I've been clucky for ages Mel, LOL, just keep saying I need a new DH first, PMSL. I'm quite embarrassed to admit that my mouse cursor has hovered over newborn fluff a few times lately. Well, you never know when you might need it, huh?? ;) I've only ever bought large :(
One day maybe.....

I LOVE MooGoo.....The other night Jack went to bed about 7pm...I then heard him stir at about 8, he had a bit of a chat to his dolly that he has in bed with him and then went back to sleep (after about a minute). He then woke up about 10:30 screaming his little head off, I went in his room to get him and poooooey, did it stink in there!!! My poor little man had done a poo, and I'm sure he was laying in it from 8 when he stirred :( Anyway his bum was so red the next day, even a little bit of bleeding. Only took one day of MooGoo to fix it though, wooohoooooo. I don't know what he ate that day, but it must have been something that didn't agree with his skin on his bum.

sanks for all the nice comments about my girl and her fluffy butt! i am a little biased so i think she's cute no matter what - but it's nice to hear others say it too! she is VERY blonde for now - not sure if it will stay that blonde or end up a strawberry blonde heading to red like mummy and daddy...

yup - her name really IS Emerald - full name Emerald Nevaeh Rose.

it came from daddy liking Emerald ages ago (my birthstone, so was in honor of me - i hate my name!), the fact that it's hers too was just coincidence. Nevaeh is heaven spelt backwards, to honor the five angel babies we've lost - and rose - well, we have about 300 of them in our yard...

not a lot else nappy related to say at the moment - am just enjoying using the covers and basking in everyone's cluckiness over my princess!

let people know what you're after, at least you have plenty of time to look, choose and buy. maybe set up a baby register at a online mcn store, so your friends/rellies coudl get you stuff of your choosing?
i would go for a simple workhorse option, like bamboo prefolds and leg gusset covers (for beginning stage), to accomodate tiny pooing and weeing machines! i'm sure you will given the cute stuff.

Hi Rhyb - congrats on your pregnancy!! Triplets - wow! I second Gigi's great advice and definitely put out there what exactly you need, then friends, family and fellow BBers know what to get you and you dont end up with clutter that you are not going to use!

If you do set up a register with an online nappy store, make sure that they will give their bank details so that people who want to contribute but might not be able to afford a full nappy can pop some money in the account - every dollar will help! - then post in here that we can PM you for details so people like me can contribute!

longies too big is not as bad as it sounds.

a hand sewn hem solves the length and means you might get TWO winters out of that pair, instead of ONE.

the waist is adjustable with the drawstring inside the waist on LJ

the hips being a bit too big means you can use them over night nappies as well as day nappies.

Great the moo goo helped - which one do you use for nappy rash? i have a few moo goo moisturisers and a soothing cream too.

did you know apart from Swaddlebee FITTEDS, and Swaddlebee POCKETS, there is ALSO a Swaddlebee FITTED POCKET. the inner and outer are both organic velour, and you put a sb insert inside (like you do with a pocket), the diff being you then put on a waterproof cover over the top. Very very absorbent. and narrow crotched.

But one week of putting my nb (3.79kg) in smalls, showed me how vital FIT was, to the success (pootainment) of mcn. So i changed my tune, did a 180, in the space of one week (changing my entire clothing many times per day, scrubbing couches, baby seats you name it, it got pooped on.) As soon as i got nb sized stuff, pootainment happened. big sigh of relief from me!

I think it was more a case of him being in his pooey nappy for such a long time :redface: hasn't had any more red bum since, so that's good!
I use the MSM Soothing Cream...I also have the double cream anti ageing face cream for me and the lip balm :D


Jack slept through last night for the first time EVER!!! About bloody time, he's 13 months now! He went to bed at 7pm (usually wakes anywhere between 10:30 and 11:30 for boobie) and slept straight through till 5am, I gave him a quick BF and back to bed till 6:30...yayyy!! If only I had of went to bed early instead of sitting up till 11"30 waiting for him to wake.:rolleyes:

Going to put on a layby for some CT's with Ali's wonderful discount! Yay for fluffy friends.

My mum is a dear - I asked her a while ago to knit me some soakers etc in preparation for bubs - just so we can have it down pat before bubs gets here - and she has already finished the first one! Go Mum!

It looks too big though... it is apparently the smallest size - but can a clothie bum really be that big??????

I am under NO illusions about pootainment!! Despite Finn being 10lb4oz and full of fat rolls his poos were watery BF and ROCKET powered (complete with rocket sound).
He'd poo every feed between boobs and I'd have to grab him under the armpits and carry him straight to the change table without touching the bottom area or poo would be up his back and almost to his head!

So I'm ABSOLUTELY in for MEGA good fitting covers! I've got 1 NB and 6smalls, expecting another 4.5kg+ baby. If later scans show a smaller bub I can quickly buy a few more NB size.

I have been waiting on 2 bamboo delights from a trade for almost 2 weeks now.. I'm so scared they are lost in the post... my first lost post ever and i'm devastated... so silly, only 2 second hand nappies, but something for the NB and it' HURTS. I really hope they just turn up soon.:pray:

tk1999- I've knit one woollen soaker so far.. it doesnLOOK a bit big, but once I put a nappy inside it fills out ( I did small not NB size) but there should be lots of stretch if you use a good pattern and big is fine. A handknit soaker isn't going to give you any pootainment, so it is fine if it's a bit big.. and it will fit longer.:dance: Once I know sex I'll probably do another 2-3 soakers/shorties for bubba.

Wow Maz on the Auriel.. I was really wanting to try one right before Finn TT'd. Never got to in the end. They do look cute.

Does everyone here wash their wetbags after each use? Do you air them out on the line after each use?

Cm I wash mine each time! Usually cause its had a poopy nappy in it.

Can anyone going to the brissy Baby expo do me a favour? At the Sydney expo Nurture Nappies had great one nappy wetbags for $15. Now they are $20 on their website plus postage. When I emailed about the price increase they said it was just a special for the expo. I only bought one not realising how useful it was. Anyhoo my favour to ask is could someone buy for me if they are $15 again? Of course I'd tfr cash first etc.

Peapods.... what the hell?!?! :angry:

I know peapods aren't the most rated nappy around and only a basic MCN however they work great for us!! DD has never had a leak! Anyway, I did some washing today and did my warm wash with a few of them and my other MCNs and as I was hanging them up, noticed that one of the peapods is showing some serious wear!!! I'll try to explain.... the plastic coating off the PUL is coming off on the inside so it looks like really thin plastic sheeting hanging off the PUL does that make sense??? wtf..... I'm seeing Peapod at the baby expo in few weeks so will show them then. Not very good considering it's only been worn maybe 20 times?? do they use a cheaper type PUL??

Any ideas girls why it would do this?

Miss M has decided that sleep is the enemy at the moment, so I'm living on coffee, coke and cups of tea. Not good for the growing bubba, but neither is mummy falling asleep on the job!! Would be ever so much easier to get through these days after crappy nights if the toddler was still having a day sleep!!!!

*yawn* Better get to bed I suppose. She is still up so have to try and convince her to fall asleep with us instead of playing silly buggers. :rolleyes:
