we get nappy rash from sposies here too. for rashes tho we tend to rotate, depending on what/where the rash is the lucas paw paw (only one u can get around here that i can find) moo goo eczema cream or calendular and neem oil cream from the natropath.... but both the paw paw and calendular ones i have arent any good for mcn, so i just put our least fav ones on if its on his bum. i think we had used cortisone twice when his eczema was really bad *shudder* man i hate that stuff.

Funnily enough The bulk of DS bum rash started clearing up once we started usingcloth and has stayed at bay since, just needing a bit of calendula to really knock it on the head. The one on his face would randomly flare up and we didn't know what was causing it (i think it might have been aircon as it was quite hot at the time and we were in and out of air con alot) but it seems to be settling now thank god.

DD is allergic to sposies if I use more then one on her in a row. At night we have to because she wees so much and I PACK ON the PawPaw ointment as a barrier. It seems to stop it any nasty reactions happening. If she wears disposables with no cream she gets an outline of where the nappy was sitting in the form of red and hot knickers. It hurts her really bad too

Ouch! Harlee has not been in a sposie since she was 3 weeks old, we still have 3 sposies in the nappy bag.. I doubt they fit her anymore though!
So who scored on the angel tears stocking? I managed to get a custom spot.. Yay! My first ever customs..I've always been too scared to get them because I don't like people to go out of the way for me! But I was brande because I want some special nappies for harlee:)

Well I'm hoping to have a large ittibitti second in the mail today. Got a twinkle lily wool cover coming for when he's in flats at home and my abbygro. What the heck happened to my no more nappies til after Christmas? Spose I haven't bought a box of nappies in a month. And that box is still half full... And then I have another full box cos they were two for $50

I took the nappies into my playgroup friend in hossie yesterday. Most of them were the size of her bub so he won't be in them for a while. the nb one GAPED awfully, in a month or so i'll lend her some of mine and she can try them on her son prior to purchasing.

I'm a pockets gal too. Haven't tried issybears but I lurve GKs!!! They have been awesome on our little boy. I highly recommend at least getting a couple to try. The funtimes wick though, so anytimes & minkytimes are best.

But yep you do. I'd spend anywhere from $33 to $41 a week on nappies normally. And now I've spent less than $25 in a month. Mind you they were two for $50 on special, but still...

where the material tends to hold the wet. Cotton nappy outers tend to get soggy on the outside because the wee seeps and the cotton holds it

hi ladies, with the weather finally beign decent ive been motivated to use my cloth again. still cant use them at night because I' gets a really nasty rash but we use them all day again (got lazy waiting for the rash to heal and didnt go back to cloth for a bit)

I just saw a pic of a lady's stash who had over 100 nappies for her one baby girl and they were all pretty ones and she had more coming. Could not beleive it!! She has some lovely nappies though.

For me this is a good pic to show my hubby how modest our stash is!!!

That's what these BBH must be. Bamboo fleece cos they're kinda fleecey (god, can you tell I'm blonde?) my CT ones are more like towel iykwim.

I have heaps of pockets but they just aren't working for us anymore, 3 different brands all with microfibre insets, I put 2 in and within 10 mins there is a puddle where harlee e has be been, it comes right through the outer later somehow and out the sides. They worked before, but now they have failed us. :( lucky I have lots if other kinds!

we dont do microfibre here unless its got bamboo as back up

i love the pea pod ones, and there bamboo inserts, going to try get some extra ones as back up cos they take forever to dry!! ive got a cheep one i found at the local op-shop for $2 that we use at nights, its awsome, she slept from 11 till 11:30 last night, and no leaks at all! not 100% sure on the brand, i think its hanna australia or something, but its got 2 towel like pillow type inserts. my stash is slowly growing! im currently on i think 10, and have more comming!

Really? I though microfibre was really absorbent, I dont get why it doesn't work. I'm currently making my own hemp/cotton boosters out of left over fabric when I made breast pads, so I might try them in the pockets then.

bamboo and hemp are more absorbent than micro fibre. I don't remember why but someone recommended not using microfibre unless they're only going to be in it for a shortish amount of time

i had a bum g nappy given to me to try which had a microfibre insert plus a haute that also had a microfibre insert in it. i stuff both of them with a pea pod bamboo insert as i find its better to go the distance with. dont have the bum g anymore as it went missing between day care and home :( it was an awesome fit on DS too!

I have some bum G's that I'm thinking of getting rid of - can't tell you the details as they're currently stored under DS's cot (where he's sleeping finally for tonight - doesn't like going down to sleep - too afraid of missing something ;)) PM me if you're interested - I'll try to get them out tomorrow afternoon and see what I've got

WOBB - Genesse Forge Super Super Night nappy (yay for being able to use his cloth night nappy - only have 2 and he was managing to out wet both of them - 17 layers of bamboo and was still out-weeing it :rolleyes: )
