Why do you prefer these Lime? I've only ever used Flanny ones at the hospital with DD (11 years ago!) so can't remember to compare!

Why do you suggest those over Bamboo Limey? Just wondering because I'm starting my research. Hoping I don't have a small bub this time around but my BP is up and down so trying to be prepared either way. A lady at playgroup was using face washers on her son for the first 5 weeks :o he was tiny!
ETA: lol Stoked! I had the page sitting idle for 10 mins and didn't see your post
Clover, if you have an Aldi nearby, grab Aldi sposies - cheaper than Huggies & better (IMO). Not sure about the weight range though, but it should be on the pack.
Someone linked me to a sale on FB :( and I have seen a couple that look very cute.... I'm trying to decide is it worth the drama with DH....
Thanks all for the sposie advice :)
I asked DH what he thinks I should do, & I know he doesn't care either way, but he's gotta bring a boat motor back with us (), so I really don't think there'll be room for my nappy box!! Not for enough to do no washing anyway.
And there's the flooding problem. Last time we were out there we got flooded in. Constant rain, no washing machine & no way to get sposies isn't worth the risk! lol
Last time I used them I just got home brand ones. I think I should get Huggies this time, coz she got a rash from the home brand ones. Hoping Huggies don't do it too...
I do have an Aldi... an hour away & in the wrong direction to pick them up on the way through :(
:( the clouds are back! Not impressed!! Oh well. Nappies scored a heap of sun the past few days :)
WOSB - MAL nn (still in bed!)
with sposies i preferd the baby love over huggies, a little cheeper and held out better at night, but thats my opinion, it the same with cloth, you have your own opinions and prefrences. not sure on sizes tho, dd was out of newborn by 3 weeks and just kept outgrowing each size, im sure the last lot she was in wouldnt fit her now either! good luck, if you have liners, could you use them for the sposies? even if its overnight ones so she hasnt got skin contact with them for to long?
WOKB: giraffe cushie
We use huggies here at night, those and the Coles gumnut ones are the only ones that hold up overnight with both girls.
Mummyof4 - flanny flats aren't as bulky as terry flats :) Having said that, I gave all my flanny flats to someone when they were expecting a baby and they never gave them back to me, so all I've got is terry flats to use here. I doubt anywhere in tassie would stock flanny flats. Oh and with cloth wipes, I take a little pop top of water with me to use when we are out, but most of the time I'm at a friend's house where I can just wet them like I would at home. No biggy :)
All newborn fluff is put away now - the Widdlewuns are sooooo teeeeny tiny!! Very gorgeous!! And I get to pay off my layby today with Christie, very excited!!! Dh's nan put some money in our bank account for xmas - soooo wooohooo - nappies for melly!! errr I mean the kids.....
I had the same conversation with mum the other day when she rocked up with J's nappies as apart of his birthday present. Who are they really for? Me or him ;)
...might hafta get some flanny flats. I'll use em on the next one, right?
Also, do you think it'll be ok to soak a wool cover in ecostore soak stuff? DS has spilled a bucket load of crap over his and it's starting to really show. Spaghetti we had last night was the last straw!
MO4, I just use cheapo flannels from woolies, $5 for ten. Those Itti bitti ones we got as freebees I don't really like, they're too smooth to scrape poo off a dirty bum with XD
I use sposies when we go out tho, i dont know why cos i still end up bringing them home with me to throw away cos i HATE opening those nappy bins in the change rooms. J poos like clockwork tho and I can usually get it done and dusted before we go out into public XP
Eta: never mind read the instructions. No woolens! :(
ok, i have tried the tuttio yesterday, yup i love it more then the dlish, only not sure how long it will last on dd, she is 11 months and it dose up on the seccond last snaps... and shes getting chunkier.. but its definatly a better all round fit (itms?)
not sure on cloth wipes, im contemplating getting some, im sick of needing wipes and the kids have goten to them and theres only just enough for one poop left!
i just had a phone call from the lady at wild child thanking me for my patience waiting for my order while they are in the floods and that it has been posted for me, i hope that its a good fit here, with service like that i think ill be getting some more! (if they fit right!)
oh, after 5 washes in the machine, one being a strip, all the nappies barr one and 2 boosters are free from that cr*p df spilt on them, its not my fave one, but still... hope we get some sun in the next few days and ill chuck it on the line hopefully it just needs some sun.
WOKB: baby hosen
wow lots of chatter in here at the moment!
good luck with the wild child and its fit sarah!
afm, hoping to get a few dollars in so i can buy some more petites for DS. finding i love the fit on him and they pretty much dont leak unless he has been in the just a little too long then he does a mega wee and well outwees it.
WOHB - pea pod.
just bought 2 more fitteds :) damn!!! i need to egt preggers!!!!! DH will kill me!!!!! they are mediums BUT having said that they are 4-10kgs....and my last bubba was 4.265kgs :)

WOIB- junglebums with fairy embroidery, so cute
I'm gonna give the prefolds another go before I sell on ;)
They still fit & look SO cute!!!
WOSB - Maz prefold & Maz cupcake cover. New Born cover!! lol
yeah i can get small maz covers on jamie still if hes in a sposie got some GK's to try and omg they fit both kiddies perfect i think i just got lucky with my kids coz there hasnt really been any nappy that dont suit i still dont like AI2's too hard to get the poo off all those layers lol and hes forgotten about velcro no pants on right now and he isnt bothered with it
WOMB: GK funtime trains
WOSB: latte magicall

Oh really? Will have to head to spotlight next time OH lets me.... ;)
WOSB - Cute Tooshies fitted & MAL Dora cover.
(CT proved worth it, bought from Mel for DS & now a great night nappy for DD, wish I could find the other one!!)
just had to announce i got fluffy mail! teny tiny nb woozleberry, its is so small!!! hope i dont have another boof, it might not fit!!
wokb: beastly bums.
:help::o
ok, how old was your bub when they started undoing velcro?????
dd is my first in cloth, she is 11 months old, was standing near me, holding the chair and i hear "riiip" look down and she had one side undone!!! :o i asked her what she thought she was doing, done it back up, she is now giggling and clapping and doing it again!! i know the boys were in sposies, but they didnt even attempt it untill arround 17 months or so?? henow thinks she is the cleverest thing out...
wokb: nothing, shes just compleatly taken it off.......:o
We're getting the semi solid poo atm.. Its grose. Our little squirt is too powerful so when I use it I end up with pooey water all over the toilet and floor..not worth the hassle. I've been naughty and just beenthrowing them in a2 and a half hour wash cycle, with like 4 pre washes. They come out pretty much like new again:hide:lol
I'm banning myself from that fb site.. I will just use it to sell...no more buying! My stash is over 200 now..thinking of seeking medical help.
SL way to go! It was a great auction to be a part off!
As for what I get...it will be very special to me....others may look at it and think I'm crazy though heehee
I'm waiting for Sue to contact me!
6 months old Sarah! I only had one MCN with velcro on but it was soon ditched. Every time I put it on DD it resulted in a puddle or a errr...... pile on the floor. Maybe have a look for some bloomers to put over the velcro ones?
lol sarah, velcros an issue here too, i put bonds cotton tails over ours so she cant get to them. target have some cute elmo nappycovers on special atm too
thanks CL! she has her night one on under her jammies now! i onmly have 4 velcro so might trade them in cfor something else! i just couldnt belive it!!
 Sarah, I started DS at 13 months & I reckon by 13.5 months he was taking them off!
Wait til they can undo snaps themselves ;)
i have only ever tried flats twice, once when DS was newborn but even prefolds didnt work very well for us and once when antibiotics gave him terrible runs. both times i had heaps of trouble getting the legs to not gape massively, but too small around the waist... i think that was just my retardedness....
question might be a blonde one for those of you without LS, when u guys rinse off ur pooey nappies do you rinse them in the laundry tub, the shower, outside or somewhere else??
WOCB: bbh bamboo fitted with extra boosting and maz plane cover. fingers crossed no leaking tonight...
I don't rinse mine at all... I scrape off as much as I can then chuck them thru the rinse cycle with all the others before I wash.
Seriously considering buying a spatula for the scraping process.
LOL! Mel has a poo spoon. Have you patented it yet Mel?
Angelpants- Pre LS I used a shower head attachment on the bath tap but our loo is next to the bath so it worked. I'd suggest flicking solids off in the loo (well the bulk you can) and then use the laundry trough. That wasn't an option for me because the washing machine blocks it. We got the LS because DD started doing errr....... harder to manage poos and we were spending ages getting it off
i LS the poo directly into the toilet......when i didn't have a LS i scraped off the majority of poop then rinsed in a bucket...
i dont have a LS yet but hoping to get one. DH thinks he can make one himself and that it wouldnt be too hard to do. otherwise i will scrape off as much as i can and just do a rinse cycle before doing a wash cycle.
WOHB - pea pod
i have a LS its in my garage still waiting to be connected! lmao, im so slack
Yup I scrape off as much as I can with a spoon into the toilet and then rinse the rest off in the laundry tub. I did have a LS but sold it because the new house didn't have any taps to connect it to in the toilet - one of those ultra modern toilets!! Everything is hidden.
Who said something about the pressure being too much in the LS? You can turn the tap down that its connected to to make it less pressure - either that or don't press the LS trigger down all the way, I only needed to do half way - otherwise, yes, everything would be covered with poo!!!
I put in my requests yesterday for the embroidery to go on my WW's - couldn't decide on a last one though, so will have to let Christie decide for me!!! Can't wait to get them!!!
WOM&E'sB: Widdlewuns.
I don't have a LS & don't rinse yet... Just chuck em all in the machine :)
Poor bubba poked her self in the eye this morning :( Its all red & swollen.
WOSB - Swaddlebees lemonade :)
most off dd's are solid, so i flick it in the loo, when they arnt i scrape as much into the loo as possible. all mine get rinsed befor going in the machine. (mainly to give df peace of mind that his clothes wont come out with pee or poop left from the nappy wash
yeah J's used to be like that too, you could just roll them off! But now, with his fascination for grapes along with teething :o
So, i have enough cloth for three days without washing... I've washed, obviously... but i have two days worth still out on the line (lazy much) and another days in the washing machine and i still have, i think two nappies in the nappy bag and about 5 or 6 still sitting around on the couch. Score ><; I spose that's really four days, huh? I still wanna get another twinkle lily cover tho, for when the other one is in the wash... and replacing all my Cts with Ag's wouldn't go astray either :p
WOJB. Snowflake cushie tushie
I have missed some errrr solid matter in the past and pulled a few towels out with a half masticated piece of food/suspicious errrr smudge on.... It must have gotten stuck between the layers of one of my nappies in epic proportions (half of the job).
With my LS I barely have to squeeze the trigger. It does a nice horizontal spray that acts as a lever for the solid mass. I've only had one accident with it and I was holding it at the wrong angle which caused a massive splashback complete with solids.... That resulted in a thorough shower straight away
