Wow it's quiet in here! How's everyone's hunting going?
not doing the hunting, but have been enjoying the itti hunt sales! just wish they would stay forever!!!
tried the tutto on dd2's tiny little bum and perfect fit!! just remove the long insert and it was great! def need more than the 4 i have.....
next change im trying a abby gro if i have folded them by the time she wakes up!
its been really quiet in here!
cl - i have found enough icons for the grand prize! did get a couple of extremes but to be honest found them wayyyyy too hard! so gave up. lol
I had trouble registering for the hunt, so haven't bothered!
I'm loving the itti sales too! got a pink tutto & have a navy on the way. Got them for $22 ish!!
I wanted a bubblegum, but the reduced price just wasn't enough to warrant it & I don't wanna buy sized nappies new, I'd rather spend the money on OSFA.
Got 3 pretty AT's on the way, a flattery (i think?) 'Ford' nappy & a heeeeeeeeeeap of stuff from Maz's stocking. A pinny, long sleeved shirt & singlet for DS, driblet & cover singlet & driblet set :)
WOSB - pink tutto
I gave up this round because feeling crappy and been too much happening!
Awesome job on the grand prize efforts Teresa!
ohh i got my maz layby on to, i got the girls a denim buterfly pinny each from the stocking and a layby for a few covers and some night naps, so excited! the smallest pinny was 00 so i got krystal a size 2 fingers crossed they grow into them at the same time!!
looks like it will be a abby gro next change, shes still asleep! just hope they fit skiny nb bums!!
AG has newborn size too Sarah! My older sis had issues with the fit around the legs on my 3.8kg nephew with the OSFM AG. I'm thinking I might go bamboo prefolds option with this bub but will order after I know the sex.
WOCB: Aqua gelato AG and hopefully wee. This cold and teething combined has her right off everything so trying to pump fluids in!
Hope you and C are getting better CL!
We're off to Melbs this weekend for five days. Will have to use a laundromat, as we're not staying with family and sposies are NOT an option. (on any other trip, no biggie, but on this one, have to stick it up the ILs that we don't neeeeed them to continue our parenting choices) So, Melbourne being Melbourne, we will have to use a dryer. DO I have to pack all pockets/Ai2s so I can just tumble dry the inserts, OR can I just pack my favourites, since this will be their only ever tumble-dryer episode? Just not sure, and I don't know if I have enough pockets to cover it. What about fleece nappies? Are they any better in the dryer than PUL ones? I only have 8 terry flats, so they're not really an option, also, we need to streamline our luggage and they are too bulky.
WONB: Bamboozle with two boosters, Fleece cover. Beddie byes. Man am I loving the fleece covers.
Audax - fleece are fine in the dryer. It can affect the elastic, but a one off won't hurt. PUL can delaminate if it gets too hot. Do laundromat dryers have a heat setting? If they do, use medium instead of hot :)
I have enough of a stash now that as long as I wash the night before & get them dry, I can do a trip away. I take flats too, but rarely use them for more than NFT.
Can you take them all? I do if I'm away longer than a weekend. I just put the tub in the car (much to DH's dismay ;))
Summer isn't as heavy wetting as she used to me, so we don't need to stress as much about night nappies. Still can't use normal day ones, but tutto's are fine.
Does everyone use all the inserts in their tutto's? Where do you guys buy flongies? would like to get some for winter...
lol Audax, stick it up the IL's! Pixie is still snotty but I no longer feel like I've been punched in the face lol. DP has been really awesome and cooked tonight, sleep-ins etc! I think it's hit me harder being UTD. Thanks for the well wishes!
We're flying, and we have to get PT to and from the airport, so can only take as much as we can carry. So I'm trying to pick out my trimmer Ai2s and pockets, I think I'll take about 15 and 2 night nappies (which here is just a boosted bamboozle) because that's 6 a day and then through to lunchtime on the day we wash. We actually usually only go through 5 in a day.
OK, so one off dryer use is OK for non-PUL stuff. Duly noted. I think I have enough pockets and stuff to get through.
WONB: Bella Bumz monkey print.
I probably have to take my own detergent too, hey?
Sticking it up the ILs is getting hard. Lucky for my fierce determination...
WONB: Green Kids pocket in sage, stuffed with a prefold.
when i first started using cloth, i used the dryer and it didnt seem to effect them at all, and that was drying after almost every wash. i hang them inside to dry if its raining now sincethe dryer is officialy dead! yep you will need your own detergent, unless you buy it when your down here. good luck sticking it to them!!
with the tutos i use all the inserts with krystal, but only the 2 smaller ones with bub as it seems to bulky with the larger one on her tiny bum.
OMG having 2 in cloth is getting me behind in my washing!!! lol, one load of nappies now takes up over half the line! stupid little clothes line! have to go back to washing every day instead of every 2 days me thinks! 2 good things the health nurse had to say yesterday, was about bubs weight gain, and how good it is to see someone being reoursefull and using cloth nappies. wish it was the only things she said!!! biarch!
HELP i have a MAJOR PROBLEM!! someone was trying to 'help' because krystals getting more teeth, her poo has burnt the crapper out of her por bum, i was putting bepanthen on it using liners, but 'someone' (shall remain unnamed) thought they would help and done some changes with NO LINER :o:shakehead: HOW THE HELL DO I GET IT TO COME OFF???? i know its waterproof ect but surely there has to be a way??i have about 4 nappies that are covered, they used heaps each change, im tempted to make her buy me new nappies!!!
OH we had our first poosplosion!! out one leg of a sugarshot! so much easier to clean then the up the back sposie ones were!!!
WOBB: purple majicall
WOKB cant remember, but just saw a flash of it and its a pale pink one....no idea.
Audax - I wouldn't stress too much. Just use medium heat rather than hot :)
I used my dryer alot before it died :)
Sarah - try a strip wash with d/washing liquid & hot water. Hopefully it'll break down the oils on them?
WOSB - Ford flattery
Sarah, strip wash is your best bet. After telling my sister Bepanthan will block her nappies countless times she rang me one day whining they kept leaking... Apparently the strip wash worked on her's. GL!
Did you try some of those vacuum bags to compact your luggage Audax? Nappies aren't too heavy on their own but rather bulky. Just thinking maybe it might compact it and make it easier to catch PT.
WOCB: Free bumming because her bums all red right now.... getting teeth on top of this cold *sigh*
ooh, those vacuum bags rock. I'm pretty sure you can pick them up cheap from reddot.
still clothing it here... i think we need a strip wash because we keep getting leaks. I blame DH and is love affair with fabrick softener. I don't put it in with nappies, but with the amount he uses for one wash (read; half the container...) there is bound to be some still lurking in the washing mashine.
otherwise, pretty boring on the nappy front here at the moment. Just waiting on some AG's I bought off a lady from the FB page and that's it. I haven't even taken advantage of any of the hunt sales.
WOJB; navy tutto
helle - am i reading your sig right? are u UTD???????? :D
