I use cut up flanny flats as wipe & didn't sew the edges & they're fraying slightly 2 ish years of use in so I'd say its better to sew the edges, but you don't have to.

Audax, to be honest I've never worried about staining from panadol, requires too much thinking and effort on my part. Stains eventually fade out and if you aren't planning on selling them off asap, then I would just use normal nappies and not stress lol
Same here Audax. DD's came out after about 3 weeks with ecostore powder and sun. I have a spot that only gets sun on the inserts/boosters and not the shells. Do you use mostly pockets or ai1/2?
WOCB: Sposie. she's back to mega wee overnight because disturbed sleep with visitors. It means my sister could nappy her for bed tonight though
Big lot of nappies going up on buy & sell over the next 2 days.
Need to sell urgently. DH's pop passed away & we need to get to the funeral in Sydney.
Night nappies, christmas nappies.....
WOSB - she poo'd her MAL night (up the front & on my arm!), so extra boosted ebay cheapy pocket
Is this the FB buy and sell? Which one are you all talking about? Someone mentioned Abby Gro on there the other day but couldn't find any on the one i bookmarked.
Oh that darn FB page! I only have my phone for Internet at the moment and the MCN page is NOWHERE to be found! I can find it on the PC but I don't have that at the moment! Gosh!
I'll put a list on here too :)
Did someone from this thread send me a friend request on FB? Trying to figure out who did and this is the most prominant thread I haunt.
well it wasnt me coz ur link takes me to my homepage
Odd... I got my sister to check it for me and it worked for her.... hmmmm
ah, will fix now. I think I found the issue! I had someone making fake accounts a while back and harrassing me so I try to get confirmation who someone is now
ETA:done!
Can use either. I guess ai2s are better cos I can sun the inserts? Roger. Pockets are annoying me, actually, and since it looks more and more like we're staying in Qld long term, i might get rid of them all.
WONB: Cornflower blue Bonnibuns pocket (ironic, much?) It's SILs and she is still in my bad books, so am hoping it gets stained.
I hated the pockets because quite often they'd have an extra absorbant layer sewn in. I found sometimes if they took slightly too long to dry they'd get a tad stale smelling. To quote helle's interpretation of ecostore powder "I hang them out in the sun and they're so white, they're blinding" (inserts) I think I got that pretty much quoted  I definately prefer the AI2 with the shells without extra absorbant materials in them. They smell so much fresher when you can pull the whole wee/poo area apart and air the lot while drying. It's also nice to be able to sun the inserts and put shells in the shade. Minky especially stays so much more vibrant!
WOCB: nothing. free bum before bed!
we had a party for DS's 1st birthday yesterday. we gave him some cake and he had it all thru his hair and over his face that i just gave him a bath afterwards. anyway i just put a tshirt and nappy back on him and the topic after that was how much cloth has changed and how gorgeous his nappies were! needless to say they were a hit! gotta love showing them off :D
WOHB - liquorice petite.
Currently being driven mad, has anyone else had this happen? almost every nappy DD has at the moment have appeared to sprung leaks! its driving me mental, no sooner have i changed her then i need to change her again, it just seems to flow out the leg/crotch area, its both odd and anoying! and is happening in everything, ittis, (both delish and tuttos) abby gros, pea pods, you name it.:protest: i know its not the waterproof layer or the elastic, as it happens in the brand new ones to. and they were holding up just fine last week:rolleyes:
has this happened to anyone else? please tell me it stops and they start fitting right again preferable very soon!
WOKB: NFI ive changed her that much today already ive lost track!
sarah - maybe they need a strip wash.
done that!
im hoping she is having a growth spurt, but dont think they would all be affected?
Sarah - are they all front snapping ones? Any wing droop?
she has one side snap that still (just) fits, is wing drop were they overlap? as none of her nappies have that, they are either a good cm apart or on the final snaps. hope i got that right!
No, wing droop is where the wings slip out from under the waist part and hang in their crotch area.
We can't use front snapping nappies for that reason here.
ahh, yeah none of that, but it is driving me mental! i change her and if withing 40mins she hasnt pood in it, she has peed out the legs bit. the poop dont bother me as much, its just the piddle part, she seems to have turned into a piddle queen or something overnight!
Do you have any spare boosters lying around? Chuck another one in and see if that helps - cos they can sometimes pee a lot more, seemingly overnight!! Ittis used to hold up fine in my house, but not when the kids got older.
i have a couple, ill give that a shot today :duh: why didnt i think of that! thanks, fingers crossed it works!
Just don't shove too much in there and create leg gape.. LOL
Hello lovely ladies
haven't been in here for ages - just been doing the cloth thing and been really cruisy
anyway, just wanted to see if anyone has any advice about holidays and cloth
we're off on a road trip mid week and will be gone at least a week. we have organised a couple of places to wash a load of nappies (yay!) on the way, but wondering if wet bags will be ok cos we'll only be able to wash every couple of days (leave thurs, wash sat unless accommodation has a washing machine we can use before then, and from sat to monday arvo/tuesday morning) - or weather we should try and find room for a lidded bucket in the car. also, given we can't do washign every day, should we keep dry pailing, or should we rinse them at each stop? we should have enough time for them to dry each time seeing we only really have AI2's, and we'll be using liners so we can flush any gross bits as we go...
I'd take wetbags but thats just my personal preference. If you take a pail, you can always wash them in there if you get stuck for nappies though.
I used wetbags while visiting melbourne. it was easier to cart them between the IL's and parent's house. I also took a smaller one for trips to the shops or when I stayed at my sister's house. The bucket would have been a pain to transport. I only got to wash every couple of days there because at one stage we had 7 adults and 2 MCN babies staying at my parent's place. The wetbags were easier to just hang somewhere rather then finding floor space for a bucket too
HTH!
good point CL
have just been having "issues" with hubby with how we should pack the car. i don't want to pack clothes or nappies into anything until i know what space we have. he has a "we'll be right" attitude. i just told him to pack what bags he though we'd fit in the boot. let's just say he was surprised at how much room a pram and a portacot take up! i have now rearranged it all and left us with heaps of space. but he no longer has the same attitude - now i think he's scared to suggest anything lol i think a bucket/tub would be a bit outside of what room we have available at the moment anyway...
you can wash nappies at my place in canberra on the thursday night/friday if you want
that's massively generous Kitten! i think we'll be right on the thursday but may take you up on it for the friday evening - are you out Belco end?
The wetbags really have more squishability too and also no wasted space because you can roll them up to the size of the contents. Buckets are a set size whether you have 1 or 21 nappies in. Even maybe hang a wetbag from one of the hook things inside the doors too? Where people hang drycleaning... I am so brain dead today
yep 5 minutes from Belconnen
cool - will see how we're travelling - will know by friday meet up if we have a washing machine in the apartment
We are going away around the same time BG. Heading down to Sydney for a funeral Tuesday or Wednesday. Every other trip we've done I've done sposies, but I just gave them all to Barney yesterday for her DD, coz they weren't gonna get used here. I'm not buying more, its pointless, they go to waste!
We have a wagon & I'll just stick the nappy tub in the back. Only taking Summer with us, makes it alot easier. More space. I might put my nappy bucket in, with my wet bag. But I only have one bag, so bucket it is. Alot easier with the space of a wagon though!
Nappies are on a heavy duty, eco store stain remover wash. Summer had the flu & was all choked up, must've been going straight through her. Poo, poo & more poo! Praying we have sun tomorrow... though I like snuggling with my babies in bed & listening to the rain too ;)
DS's had his turn & now its mine :( Feel like crap.
WOSB - um.... oh, leopard print MAL night!
Clover hope summer is feeling better!!
So... fluffy mail for me today. my BBH NN.... any tips? It's in the wash now (don't think i'll get to use it tonight :() Planning on using a wool cover... d'you think that'll do the trick? Not keen on PUL, especially when it's gonna be on for alot longer.
aaaand, does a MAL NN need a cover?
WOJB Red tutto
Helle, I don't use covers on my MAL nights. Heavier wetters might need one, but we don't.
I try to use fleece covers only over night. or a wool soaker.
Here it is... the nightly poo! She can go to bed soon.
Sydney tomorrow... scary... I hate city driving!
WOSB - half full daddledoo, about to be daddledoo night & wool soaker.
BBH NN with TL Wool cover is in motion... FX!
Anyone noticed that everyone is selling their BBH magicals on the FB page?
WOJB BBH NN with TL Wool cover. Ch'yeah, cos i can do that now ><;
Which MCN page helle? Can you shoot me a message with link through FB please? All i see on one is legwarmers and clothes. I think the fans got a bit off topic
