Made my day better than any fluffy mail ever could! Speaking of, got two fleece auriels yesterday that I bought off the FB page. Size 2s, yet to try them as I'm saving them for Melbs! All our Melbie nappies are stacked up, colour coordinated (sad) and they look so gorgeous! Two of them will be christened down there, a GK pocket and a cow print itti.
WONB: Designer Bums paper dolls. DH put it on her this morning - usually I save it for hot days when she's only wearing a singlet, but whatever. No biggie.

I'm gonna get some MAL bamboo prefolds and some minky covers. You have to pin the predolds but meh, I'll learn
Yeah, MAL minky covers are diviiiiine on a teeny bum. Prefolds are good too, but so are terry flats. I made some terry prefolds and they were hubby's favourite. Bambooty small AIOs are gorgeous too, and small petites... well, they're great if you don't have a 4kg hoofer like I did XD Oh! and Bubblebubs Just Hatched.

we didnt use MCN's on DS when he was born. we had bought pea pods and they didnt fit him until he was around 8 weeks old and over 4 kgs! i didnt know about prefolds at that stage and we couldnt afford to buy anymore fluff at the time.

What are better? naps with velcro fastening or pop domes?
Double Trouble - that depends on you & your baby. Different nappies fit different babies & some are only available in one or the other.
Velcro is very quick & easy, but its also easier for babies to get off as they get older. There are also either front snaps, or side snaps. Side snaps aren't a great fit on my bub usually, because she is all thigh & not much belly. So to fit her thighs, they usually gape around the belly. Others the side snaps fit much better.
I have a few velcros left that I can use from DS2, and have bought a dome 1. Its got a million domes on it for adjustability but when you open or close the domes you need to put some force behind it. Im wondering if its a bit much for a NB, thinking great once shes 9 mths and on the move.
Do you mean snaps by "dome"? I only had one velcro one and I got rid of it quick smart after Pixie seemed to always undo it mid poo. Snaps are awesome and are the only ones I'll buy now. I've only had one issue with a snap breaking and I reckon it was jammed in the washing machine door or something and fractured prior. I wouldn't mind using velcro for the AIO that require a cover though.:
WOCB: Nothing. This cold has her bum red raw from nasty poo so letting it air.
I used snaps on my littlie as a newborn and they were ok. The noise of opening velcro is still something that startles her. Our stash is about 70-30 snaps:velcro.
WONB: yellow terry flat, no cover, too warm.
I'm kinda getting the hang of ECing so my gorgeous stash may need streamlining soon!
Hadnt thought about the noise factor. Think I'll buy more snaps and have a 50/ 50 mix to start

i have all snaps for my 1yo but mixed for my 2 week old bub, the velcro is good when they are 'between snaps' in some of her nappies one snap seems alittle tight but the next seems alittle losse, i prefer snaps, but am finding velcro easier for the nappie changes were im one hand down thanks to being a climbing tree for a todler!!

no nappy news here except we are due to get custom petite peony nappies but i've never tried them so if they dont work they will be difficult to on sell coz they are gonna have the kids names on them

We won an AT for christmas & got a small. It fits pretty well. My 3 pretty AT's that arrived today must be mediums. They are WAAAY too big around the belly! I thought they were smalls. Oh well, will just have to wait a bit to use them. The FS was gaping everywhere :( They're so pretty! :(

so, i have just done a nappy count. I have 30 MCN's, (all OSFM so they should be good once bub hits 4-5kgs i hope. with the exception of the ebay cheapies and those blasted CT's) around 20ish terry flats, 2 small twinkle lily covers (thanks mummabear ;)) 1 large TL cover and 7 trifold boosters and 6 spare itti tutto insert sets (so you can just change those if the shell hasn't been wet... which in my mind could be possible for a NB maybe (oh except the poo, oh how i forgot so fast about the poo!)
I know it's still way to early to be even thinking this now, (but i am cos thats just what you do when you're a mum...) but how many nappies is one looking at for 2 babies in cloth? Mind you I am hoping DS will be toilet trained after his birthday so it's only gonna be a couple of months...
I counted mine yesterday Helle. There were around 30ish in the tub. Two that I can think of we don't use. About 10 maybe waiting to be washed/folded & in nappy bag, then another 5 that arrived today & yesterday (another 3 unusable just yet!)
Then about 20 flats & about 10 prefolds, & currently 3 covers we use at night.
Then there are the others we don't use... add another 15 or so! (Then there are a good 20 I've sold!)

Helle - I have 2 in cloth and both go through 6-7 each day. I use a sposie overnight though. I can get away with washing every second day at the moment however when the new bub eventually makes an appearance, I'll be washing daily.

As is now I have plenty for everyday washing. Which I'd have to do anyway, I only have a normal nappy bucket which only fits ten nappies in at a pinch.:
Yeah I said that too but then I got one of those mini wheelie bins oh and I have a 7.5kg washing machine so I'm still only washing every second day sometimes every 3rd day but in winter I might have to wash a bit more often and I don't have a huge stash maybe 50 at the most maybe 40 we actually use
I might start with a mini wheely bin... they're not being used for the kids dirty clothes, what they were bought for!
I have 2 nappy buckets. They usually hold me out for 2 - 3 days...!
I have to wash daily but DD is such a heavy wetter and because of so much wee it smells ammoniaish if I leave it for more then 36ish hours. I generally half fill the machine and let the extra water dilute the ammonia more. If I try to leave it 2 days it seriously makes me gag with the fumes and burns my eyes.
I found a use for part of my dead CTs. Here i was thinking I need to get microfleece lners and then I remembered I hadn't chucked the dead CTs so voila liners with an added booster on. I will have to trim the snap in ones I think because they look a bit big but the smaller booster bit will work perfect. As for the minky off the dead shells I think I might make a sort of patchwork minky taggie blanket or something. I like to recycle as much as I can and my belly shouldn't be too awkward to maneuver around for that sort of project lol.
DS gets that smell too. It's pretty rank. Its not so bad at the moment tho as our laundry smells mostly like turps!
Still painting Helle? hmmm, reminds me I need to paint those bits of cardboard to test the sample pot colours before we rip the wall out.
Fluff load smelt super funky last wash because of DD's cold poos. It was almost like NB poo again... All were contained in the AGs though :D
5 days 'til I find out sex of bub then I can place my MAL order :D It's going to be a real novelty to receive fluffy mail again :lol:

ive got DS's first custom nappy here and the elastic has gone in one leg and its worn out a bit and doesnt have enough boosting and i have no clus wat to do with it coz space is scarse around here and i even have a few nappies going up for sale and as giveaways coz i dont use fitteds and have a bunchthat were given to me

Just sorted out the dud CT's bits for bub en route and liner collection is looking quite snazzy. I have 24 ready to go which is probably an over kill but still solves the liner issue and I feel better for recycling! Now to cut the minky out of the shells and sort out a pattern for a taggy blanket, organise the ribbon and cut them to size... hmm I maybe nesting early...

fluffy mail delivered today :dance: 2 limited ed Itti tuttos - want to try them out got the orange and blue pattern ones (with just white) and got a couple more IB snap-ins - the beach one and and a green & brown swirly one (forget the actual name of the colour) DS so liked the green & brown one he started eating it :p currently on the rack drying from the first pre-wash
So DS is currently wearing an abbygro fitted that was meant to be a fantastic NN. I got it off the FB page.
It's very trim... I'm very skeptical.

I got my first ever fulffy mail today!! 6 bubblegum itti tuttos and I have used one already and LOVE it!! They are sooo pretty... I have bought 15 in the last 3 days and I REALLY REALLY want to buy more. LOL last chance in the itti sale...
