Woohoo got my ruffle nappy from bec @ chic designs, looove it!! And I've got another custom from her coming + I won a custom spot for her in a charity auction! And waiting on some jam tots covers from the mcn Facebook page.....going to use them as swim nappies while we are away, and night nap covers :) and got my designer bums from their sale. Eeek DH will kill me!!

no new nappy news here! thinking i may need to start buying larges in the petites tho as DS might be close to needing them. dont have plumbers crack yet so to me they are still good :rofl:
the last couple of mornings i have had to put a sposie on him to go to daycare as the other morning he was only in his cloth for 20mins when he flooded it and it leaked onto his pants! he seems to be starting to hold his bladder more and more. we have been sittting him on his potty the last few nights before his bath but he doesnt sit very long and hasnt wee'd in it yet! we just thought we would get him used to it.
Back from Sydney, clothin it the whole way, on my own. Hard work, but worth it to help out my mumma. I've finally got my travel stash sorted:

2 x night booster sets (trifold and a micro topped booster)
A wad of micro liners
It's the perfect combo for any length trip. Although, when we go houseboating in October, I'll be leaning more on the terry flats. Just so easy to dry.

Do you look through each nappy sponsors website whenever you want or are there days?
Whenever you want WMM :) they ask you to start with sites that begin with the same letter as your name so that all the "a" ones don't get overloaded right away.
You could do it on your phone, I found a couple on there. Just search the sponsor's site till you find the nappy!

Second ever breach of pootainment lines this morning. Bubblebubs AIO. I blame the 3 days worth of oozy antibiotic poo, though, not the nappy itself. DH could have sealed it a bit better too, I reckon.

Behind on washing today so I'm using my flats on wee dude. I figured because we're short on MCN for him I'd save them for out and about. I was going to buy some bbh petites to top up Liam's stash but we can't afford it right now. I really hate monthly pay when we have a load of bills at once *sigh*

It has been a LONG while since I've been in here because I gave up on cloth and went to sposies with DS2 as EVERY time I used my cloth he leaked within an hour and rashed up something horrible.
Well, I'm pregnant with baby #3 and really keen to do cloth with #3 so giving cloth yet another try with DS2 to see if it works.
So far this morning I put a hemp BBH on him with a BBH PUL cover and I had leakage (through two layers of clothes) in about an hour.
I'm hoping that was due to the fact that he had a Milo with breakfast and NOT because of the nappy itself.
So he is in another cloth now - not sure what brand - and we'll see how he goes.
I have a variety of different cloth nappies (BBH hemp and bamboo, and a few other bits and pieces) but I'm just wondering if I'm better off starting from scratch with one brand of nappies or just continue to use my mish-mash stash.
I just don't know.
Also, if any of you on here have older children (2yrs old or so) how often do you change their cloth nappies? It seems like having to change him every 1-2 hours is a bit ridiculous as that is what I would do with a newborn.
And, what happened to the buy4baby website?
Is there any good place to source good 2nd hand cloth nappies these days??

Buy4Baby just kinda evaporated with the success of the FB page. It's called Buy and Sell your MCNs.
Is it possible your nappies need strip washing to help their absorbency? We only had our second ever poo leak yesterday, and wee leaks only happen if I leave the one nappy on too long, like if we get caught somewhere. My baby rashes up if there's wet fabric against her skin for too long, so her nappies have to have a wicking inner, and I prefer microfleece for that. You can buy naps with microfleece inners, or just use liners.
I'd recommend trying out some pockets that you can boost to blazes if you have a heavy wetter - I find my Green Kids and Little Britches really good for that. AbbyGros have been great for some other mums in here. They didn't fit my baby all that well, but they were certainly absorbent.
I have a mish-mash stash. It works really well for us.
Lilprecious- hi, do you only have bbh brand? bbh is suedecloth insert and a lot of kids rash up in them. maybe try some microfleece liners in them to block the suedecloth?? that's how i stop my daughter rashing. another option is raw silk liners which have natural healing properties. maybe try the stripwash first?

I think a strip wash may be in order - I have never done one.
I have microfleece liners and also flushable liners.
I'm using the flushable liners at the moment because poo nappies are a bit of a drama with my morning sickness so the less I have to handle the nappies the better!
I will do a strip wash for now and see how that goes...

Hemp BBH's don't have suedecloth, only the magicalls and the petites. I love my fitteds but i'm getting over PUL covers. I love my fleece Maz cover the best and my wool cover. I have a gen-y one coming and another Maz cover so i'm thinking of selling my PUL covers as i have heaps more AIO's now.
I got given a sachet of Rocking Green with a nappy i brought and i must say i like it. Not sure i'd rush out and buy more but it makes my nappies feel nice.

I forgot to ask when I posted before if the procedure for strip washing is the same in a front loading washing machine as it is for a top loading washing machine?
I've never strip washed before so I am WAY nervous about it.
I am not having a lot of success with PUL covers but just not sure whether it is worth trying yet another system with baby #3 or just start stocking up on disposables now???
I really want to do cloth again but I don't want to shell out a bunch of money for more nappies only to have them not work either!
