I buy from Greenbeans Australia, though I've only ever bought bamboo french terry or hemp fleece, I'm pretty sure I've seen the normal terry and velour in bamboo and cotton. They specialise in nappy fabrics, and I've always been impressed with delivery promptness.
Thanks folks. I'm also comparing prices of pre-made ones. Have you guys used the pea pods or Pop in Bright Bamboo wipes? Can't seem to find the size of the pop in brand.
I've got some in just overlocked bamboo fleece. They're good and grippy on one side and smoother on the other.
I also have some babmboo velour. They're softer but not as grippy.
Fabric like that you usually get online only. Fairy Fabrics, Nappies Covered, Greenbeans and Snaps Australia all have great custome service.
I have some pea pods cloth wipes, think they're bamboo. They work really well, I'm thinking of splashing out and buying some more before this bub comes along. Not super soft, but gentle enough.
Picked up most of my nb fluff while staying in Brisbane (lent to my sister and friend, neither of whom ended up using them), plus scored a couple of new Green Kids nbs from my friend. Can't believe DD2 was ever that tiny, but looking forward to using them again. Def do not need any more!
WOHB: BBH night nappy and purple PUL cover
I'm clearing out all my newborn fluff. Some is being relegated to dolls' bums, some going to an expectant friend, not much is really sale-worthy. I've worked them all pretty hard!
I'm also retiring a few from service, they've finally given up the ghost. Good timing, really, as DD1 is only in night nappies now, and I needed a downsize. Sad to think there'll never be fluffy mail again :(
WOSB: Bubblebubs cuddle fleece AIO with Big Bird tabs. And a microfleece liner, and cream. (Antibiotic nappy rash. Booo.)
That is sad. :(
=( that is sad A (opps, you are now LM =) )
TT - how are things with Spock's bum these days? Has it cleared up at all? Sposies made no difference, did they?
We are battling nasty bum here right now. G ended up in hospital for a few nights on iv antibiotics with scalded skin syndrome and I just get worried that it is coming back every time I take a nappy off her. She is still pretty red and sore looking and I'm wondering what sort of nappy will be best to use. Prefold with a wool cover? WDYT?
hi B thanks for asking. its getting better! !!!!!!!!!!!!
she is in sposies, and on steroid cream once a day and bactrum ointment twice a day. the steroid cream by its self didn't do anything but when I added in th bactrum too it is clearing up! no more open sores, just looks like really bad scars atm. im predicting another week and it will be clear. illl then go back to mcn (oh how I have missed them) and use liners and be really fussy with using barrier cream and prevention.
a good thing re the rash and sposies is i got motivated to do ecing...not had any successful catches yet but R now knows what a wee is and tells me after she has done one (just now have to work on her knowing the before feeling =) )
your dd rash sounds horrible!! is she ok? umm I have no idea about which ones would be better. is it like wee burn?
Great news TT! Do you need more liners?
B - prefolds with a cover will be good, but I'd probably make sure I had a stay-dry inner in everything I used. So some microfleece liners (yes, they are my go-to for everything!) with barrier cream when you get around to it will do the trick, is my guess.
I'm going backwards with nappies at the moment. I'm using more in a day than I am washing/folding. DD2 is crawling and pulling herself up, and between that and our landscaping, I can't take her outside. So hanging out nappies has to happen while she's asleep. And drying weather has been a bit scant. Even ith my new semi-covered line. Le Sigh.
WOSB: CTBD and TotsBots fleece cover.
DD2 has a bad rash atm. :( Hopefully a few days with MooGoo nappy balm should clear it up. I'm taking my chances with flushable liners, there doesn't seem to be anything on the nappies afterwards. Nothing else works as well as the balm and after a week with sposies at Mum's I couldn't wait to get back to cloth. I hated the smell.
WOHB: BBH NN also with TotsBots fleece cover
yes the smell!!! it's disgusting!
Cool, will go with covers/cotton/stay dry fabric then - anything for her bum to be able to breathe. It's horrible, it's a staph infection and her skin is red and angry and peeling off, worst in the nappy area. Poor wee girl :(
Interesting. No, we have been told to bath with emulsifying ointment then to slather her with alpha keri oil afterwards. She is still on megadoses of antibiotics and if it gets worse once she finishes the course then she will need a dermatology review.
