Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
Haha DD2 likes to pick out the colour nappy she wants to wear too. I didn't actively teach her, but apparently she already knows a few already. Almost done with all of the NB MCNs, my little chubba is more than 5,5 kg at a guess.

Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
DS can say all the names of the colours, but her doesn't seem to get grouping them, or naming them correctly at all. He's only 18 months, so it's early days.
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
DD2 has taken to putting all the clean nappies into the dirty nappy bin, then proudly patting the bin. It is sooooo cute but so annoying!
DD1 is now out of nappies! She was only wearing them for night, but we're three weeks in to nappy free nights, and only two accidents. So we're winning life.
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
Oh bless!
I'm soon to enter the world of two in cloth... DD did her first wee on the toilet the other day but I suspect it was random as she shows no signs and still hides and / or cries when I go to change her dirty nappies.
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
I think DD2 would be ready to TT but I'm waiting until spring. Too much on with DD3 and work, etc. she'd literally have to take herself! Instead I get to find the odd nappy removed because she doesn't like being wet/dirty. I have noticed she can go dry for extended periods sometimes so hopefully a sign it'll be easy when we get there.
Two in cloth means more washing but it's not that bad!

Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
so, i'm doing some window shopping... what are your favourite newborn nappies? With Spock I just used terry flats with covers until she was a few weeks, and then my osfm. I think the only way i can justify buying some fluff is getting newborn size, at the least I will need more covers.
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
For NB, Rumparooz are cute but didn't last me very long with this bub. My Cheeky Butts minis were the best. GroVia NB were fine with this bub but leaked dreadfully with DD2. I think DD3's chunkier thighs helped. I really like the Swaddlebees smalls and Monkey Doodlez not bad either. I have some Motherease Sandys that need covers. Not my favourites as they don't hold as much, but they're still okay to use.
I've retired all my nb cloth once more *sob* but DP took me out to look at a new car today and we're considering an 8-seater. ;) Plenty of room for one more!
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
I loved Bambooty and Baby Safari and Bubblebubs BamBams for newborns. If you're looking at two in cloth, surely you'll need to expand your stash a little?
We're coming to the end of our MCN days. DD2 is an acidic wee-er, so our nappies are rapidly disintegrating, and as they die I'm not replacing them. We're about to go on a three week road trip and we'll use terry flats the whole time - whenever I do that I come home and miss them. So I think maybe after the trip there's a possibility of flats only.
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
Spock will be 2 1/2 when Quark is born, so im not expecting 2 in cloth...atleast not full time..
Thanks for the recommendations, ill start checking them out
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
In newborn/small sizes we have Bambooty, Itti Bitti Delish, Grovia AIO, and newborn covers by Rumparooz, Bubblebubs and Bumboo. I find the Rumparooz covers a bit awkward to put on and they look huge - though DD2 is only a week old. The ittibitti are great for when they are a bit older as with DD I had lots of leaks from the legs. Grovia works well and looks cute but needs a bit of boosting IMO. I have heard the Itti Bitti Tutto fit better on a newborn. I think I prefer Bambooty to all of them, trim, neat fit.
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
Update- have been using the Bumboo covers on DD2 and they are fab! Quite a high rise but nice neat fit all around.
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
Hi wise women! After some advice...this may possibly be a silly question but after having two boys in cloth I will be put a little lady in cloth!! So are there any considerations I need to consider? Or are cloth nappies the same for boys and girls?
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
I only have a girl, but think they are easier as you dont have to worry where it is aimed =p
I wipe her every change...i have friends with boys who dont wipe if its just wee... and with girls always wipe front to back (eg vagina first to bum. Dont want any nasties gettting into her vagina)
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
Ladybug, I haven't had a girl, but I'm guessing you'd put the boosters in the middle rather than up the front as I do with my boy.
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
I put boosters up front for my girls too, Pholi. The urethra is not at the bottom... All three of my girls have been a little different in terms of weeing and pooing so I don't think there's a particular way that's right for girls in general. Congrats on your girl, lady-bug!
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
Thanks ladies. Now to decide on which brands etc. I am going to get some new mcn as our others have been through both the boys so are looking a little tired. There are about a million more brands than when I brought them 6 years ago!! Think I'll stick with BBH and Bubblebubs, I can't be bothered testing out more haha.
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
Anyone know if coconut oil is okay to use with MCNs?
Re: Cloth Nappy General Discussion #202
No idea sorry, but i can ask around
