    Foaming wash with cloth wipes

    Hi,

Could anyone share with me what sort of foaming wash they use with cloth wipes. I've read that some people only
use water but wouldn't you need something else to help clean up the poo?

    Thanks Vo

Hi, as i have severe excema on my hands i have only ever used those homebrand makeup rounds with water on my two girls. I just have a plastic water bottle filled with water next to the change table that i turn upside down onto the rounds. It always gets all the poo and wee off. They've only ever had nappy rash a couple of times from teething or me not changing their bums in time after a poo. Which is the only time i use cream on them too. gl

I only used water on cloth wipes for the first few months (water is best for newborn bots) then we switched to bubblebubs foamy wipes wash. I like the smells and it does feel like it gives more of clean feeling.

I have used the bubblebubs foaming wipe wash, but TBH water is better.
For a few reasons - you get more coverage with a water wet wipe - the foam only goes where you squirt it if you use the amount they tell you and the rest of the wipe is dry - ouch, it's expensive if you use the amount you need as opposed to the recommended amount.

Yes people argue for the scent, but if I have to buy wipes I buy unscented, so that's not an issue for me. If you wipe them properly there's no lingering smell - you don't use a scent on your own bottom.

I was going to say exactly the same as Kim. I did use a wipes wash, but yeah, a couple of squirts, and only a little bit of the wipe would get wet, and then the rest of it was dry unless I kept on pumping.

So then I just started wetting the wipes before I changed the nappy and haven't had any problems. And yeah, I've never worried about their butts smelling nice - who kisses their child's butt? I know my nose is hardly ever down there to notice - they might pee on my face if I did that.

I'm a water only for my wipes gal too. I actually dont even use a wipe if its only a wee nappy change, we just have spme nappy free time. WHen its a poo i just wet the wipe/s under the warm tap (nice in winter) and off we go. I do have some cushie tushies foaming wipe stuff which is in the nappy bag, i like it but its not necessary i think. I use it more for cleaning hands/faces/surfaces when we are out and about.
