I've used the baby wash before (on myself too), but also like the natural instinct stuff - it's cheaper than the Gaia products but uses similar ingredients (all natural, no parabens, no sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate).
But mostly I still just use water, it interrupts the natural oil balance much less.

Just to let you know BG, I used a pure Calendula gel on DS1, for nappy rash and eczema. It was pricey!!
It was great, but the Moogoo is working just as well on his sensitive skin. ;)
I would worry about the essential oils in the Gaia products, they gave my son a flare up, instead of helping.....

righto - sounds like i'll get sample size gaia products (cos i can spoil me if not bub!) and send mum to the moogoo site for stuff! works for me
-
BG - I emailed the people at gaia with your question - here is their response:-
Yes our moisturising products can be used with modern cloth nappies. GAIA Baby moisturiser doesn?t have any barrier functions in it so it will wash out straight way. The Skin Soothing Lotion contains beeswax and zinc, which are thicker and depending upon what you use to wash them with, can be tough to get out. However, Donna, who has been a GAIA customer for nearly 5 years and is a MCN user, sent us in this feedback when we asked her to test this out for us. This was her response:
?I find that although the soothing lotion does stick to some cloth nappies more than others (especially the polar fleece of pocket nappies), this can be rectified by simply adding some tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil or lavender oil to the wash cycle, and then some white vinegar to the rinse.?
Hope this helps babe!

thanks so much for that Mel - i hadn't even thought to go so far as to check with the company (can you tell i'm in contemplation mode, not action mode??)
i guess it looks like moogoo will be the go, but if i run out, having gaia might be an ok back up! will depend on what mum wants to buy i guess! hehehe
-
Contemplation mode is just fine and dandy... its where I usually live.
-
i need motivation as well as contemplation though! might ring mum and have a chat. i know she wants to do a "gift pack" with baby type stuff, so might just see if she wants to get samples of a few differnt brands and see how we go
thanks for the info though - wouldn't wnt to do something to stuff up these pretty nappies!

How long did the Moo goo take to work ladies? I used some on DD and it seems to flare up her eczema =(
Sorry for the hijack.
-
The moogoo took about 5 days to clear up his blistered butt.... which one are you using on her?
-
It worked on Kane a lot in 24hrs, but healed completly in 3-4 days.
It has improved DS1 eczema, but not cleared it yet... without cortisone I expect to take a little while....
I'm surprised it made it worse, its all natural with no fragrance, oils or colours.... Sorry I can't help....

Im using the MSM one on her bumbum and the scalp one on her head.
I tried the MSM one on her bum last night again and it didnt make the eczema worse *phew*, will keep trying it.
Im so impatient! LOL

I use the johnsons baby powder that is cornflour based. It works WONDERS and I tried heaps of different creams. It's also great because its ok on cloth nappies :)
