No, not too negative skeetaboat! I need to know! You could be right, DS had a couple of sucks on a bottle last night with DH and then a BIG drink on the boob, poor Dad. I'm definitely going to do some trial runs away for a few hours so we can see how DS and DH get on. I hope you're right Janie, the LAST thing I feel like doing right now is dropping feeds, I feel bad enough as it is.. You know I naively thought that we'd be done with breastfeeding by 9 months! I had no clue! Now I have all these things to consider e.g do I express at work? Not looking forward to THAT talk with my boss.. One thing at a time though and I still have 6 weeks (and lotto tickets).

Janie.. I agree & thanks for pointing that out. Definitely just do whatever works for you.. every baby is different.. that was just my experience. My DS was a mega boobie monster which is probably why he didn't cope too well.
Also apologies to Panda - I thought you were returning to full time work rather than part time.. so the need to get him adjusted isn't as great. Just to clarify, I meant to recommend getting bubs used to taking those feeds from a bottle or sippy cup rather than cutting them out.. at 8 months he still needs plenty of boobie juice!
Good to hear that some bubs don't miss their feeds at all when mum returns to work Janie.. I didn't realise that could happen.. I hope you've got one of those Panda ;) (hopefully my DS2 will be one of those too!!)

Panda74, I am soooooo relieved reading your post :) I have the same problem. My daughter is 9 month and she won't nap without boob. She'll need to go to daycare at 1 year old and I've been worried that she won't be able to have any naps without me. Worse, she won't take bottle (I've tried!).
I am sooo glad I am not the only one who feed my bub to sleep :redface:, I've been feeling like such a bad mum.

Hey you're not a bad Mum! I will let you know how we go in December when I leave DS with DH. I've decided to start out with a few half days at work just in case things are a bit messy.
We could be in the same boat with the bottle. I've tried three times in the last week with a bottle and DS has taken it once from DH (DH was very excited!), so I will keep trying as he may not have been hungry those other times and I also used a different teat - I think he liked the fast flow teat better (would help if I could tell which one I gave him!). He's also starting to use a sippy cup though so we have that to fall back on.
As I said I will let you know how we go in December and then in January with daycare and hopefully put your mind at ease a little!
