was definitely sleepy during, and the drive home took forever - but i was so much more mentally alert last night!! was awesome
i've been fighting chronic fatigue on top of everything else, and to get home after a full day at work and not feel disgusting and tired was AWESOME!
what are people paying per session?
I pay $55 per session (initial consult was $80) and I get over half back on private health. I love my acupuncture....Today was awesome...went in feeling a bit seedy and by the time I came out was so much more alert and positive. I really notice a huge change in headspace during the sessions, like I can go there in a negative frame of mind and somewhere in the session there is shift and I come out feeling much brighter.
Even if it doesnt get me pregnant it is certainly keeping me sane on the journey!
And the effects on my cycle have been awesome.... reduced a 56 day cycle to 28 within one month, better AF flow and all that stuff...highly reccommend it!
i paid $50, no difference for first visit cos he's my chiro as well, so knows my history (probably better than me!)
I pay $65 for the hour and get half back from my health insurance. This month I noticed that I actually felt ovulation (felt the POP), had EWCM, and had what I can only assume was ovulation bleeding. I dont know whether to be hopeful about the bleeding or not. So far, I am still happy. I see him again saturday morning (5 DPO).
Hi,
Thanks for your reply girls. My appointment went well. It was amazing what he could tell just by feeling my pulse and looking at my tounge. He thinks he will be able to treat me, he said that I have poor blood flow and that the accupuncture and TCM herbs should fix the problem
I also have 37 day cyles. He said that they should return to 28 days and that I will be ready to ttc my next cycle
It was very expensive though $135 for the accupuncture and $130 for 1 weeks of TCM
He also said something interesting. I mentioned my DH sperm had DNA fragmentation and he said as long as they can swim and have fine motility and morphology its not an issue.
My next appointment is on thursday.
Sandygirl, I go to Rebecca Mar Young in Alexandria. She's on maternity leave at the moment but there are two people working in her clinic while she's away. I'm just getting ready to TTC after my baby was stillborn in April so I haven't got a success story to share with you, but I would recommend this practice.
Thanks Debbie - good luck to you as well, I hope your BFP is just around the corner
Thank you Ren :D
By the sounds of things all you girls have said one thing in common that it relaxes you so I guess if it only does that it`s a great help.
I`m getting a tad nervous about my appointment, I know once I`ve been the first time I`ll be fine.
Reading all these messages has made me really keen to try accupuncture! There's a sepcialist accupuncture fertility clinic nearby, so I might try them out soon. It is very expensive though, and costs ?65 a session! (Not sure how much that is in $ sorry  ). I think it'll be worth it though!
Good luck Deeanne xx
Gwen xx:pray:
This also sounds good to me. I have to make an appt with a naturpath(sp?) and I know they have a acupuncturist at the same clinic so might look into it. Does anyone know or see anyone good on the Central Coast NSW? Near Gosford?
Good luck to everyone! :pink-babydust::bluedust:

I started having AP about a month ago - I go once a week at $50.00 per visit. My AP has told me to give him 3 months (we have been told by the doctor that we have to have IVF and have seen a FS) to see both myself and my DH and to work with us - he reckons he can get us UTD without using IVF.
I started having AP after reading a book by Zita West who does AP to compliment IVF treatments at her clinic. A lot of stuff in her book really made sense so I thought I am desperate I will try anything.
My hormones are pretty out apparently and I do believe that now - I used to get really painful breasts and cramping from just after ovulation until my period started - my last cycle I had none of this which is pretty good - we'll see how this cycle goes.
The only pain I have felt so far is like a little pinch when the needles go into the tops of my feet - apparently that is where the liver point is and the liver is what goes out with your hormones apparently.....slowly but surely that pain is fading.
It really does make you relax - I don't relax all that often and its something I really need to focus on doing but to actually have to lie there for about 45 mins and relax is a good thing for me. I also have chinese herbs - for the first few weeks it was horrible as teh stuff is really disgusting but you get over it adn I really think that they make a difference as well.
I'll let you all know when we get our BFP!!!!
I conceived on my first cycle with acupuncture! Wahoo...
Zita West's books are great, we get lots of great feedback from the books in the store. I'm using acupunture for cycle regulation and my therapist was able to trigger my period, its so weird, like within 2 hours... it's amazing stuff.
I had two sessions of acupuncture (with someone who specialises in fertility) and fell pregnant on our first try!
I'd recommend it.
Hi Janie,
Me and DH have been TTC for 29 months. I've never tried acupunture. Which one did you go to? I live in Geelong and have been looking for one near my house. I don't mind travelling to Melbourne if it's only once a week and it's near southern cross. Do you have any recommendation?
I have just moved to Australia and have yet to get Private Health Insurance Cover. Is it worth getting insured for acupuncture as well, how much roughly is the premium...if you don't mind telling me. I have shortlisted Manchester Unity but can't make the decision yet.
Hello,
Not sure if ppl still using this tread but i have been having AP for 5 weeks now (once a week). Have been TTC for 18mth now found out i had PCOS about a year ago. My dr has started me on CLOMID (on my third round) and i heard that AP really does help. I am finding it does relax me alot. and am hoping it will help us conceive this baby we have wanted for so long now. I had my 5th session this morning and have felt very warm ever since pritty sleepy too :)
Well i hope there is someone out there who is going though the same thing as me and who wants to share there stories :)

Hi Nicole, I have been ttc for 6-months and was thinking of trying AC next cycle if this one is not successful. After reading this thread I am convinced it is worth having a go. I had to laugh reading about people just starting AC and then looking at their tickers and seeing that they must have conceived in one or two cycles! I really hope this works for you, ttc for 18-months must be stressful, but there is a lot to be positive about when you read other's testimonies, so all the best. I'll keep an eye on this thread and hope to see your BFP soon.
